Glutenend By My Husband?

Hello everyone. I am still learning as I was diagnosed on 12/8/05. However my question is this....I have been getting sick less frequently but....I think I have nailed it down to one thing: sexual intercourse. Could this be a source of cross contamination?? I called the doctor's office and of course the nurse had "never heard of this...but will check." Anyone???

There is a whole thread about this......Hopefully someone will find it. But I'm pretty sure the answer is no in terms of gluten.

I don't think so. Especially not from genital contact.

I can see it now, "Not tonight, honey, you had pasta for dinner."

I had asked about this before too because I do tend to get glutenened like symptoms after being intimate... Even without kissing... so even though the scientific evidence points to the contrary, I'm not convinced!

You aren't using any other products are you? Like lubricant? Hands can be contaminated as well, so you really have to make sure they are clean. Genitals are full of mucous membrane tissue.

(I taught sex ed last semester)

Well, how clean is your partner? If he had crumbs on him and you kissed (or etc) that area, you would very easily get gluten.

Maybe you're just allergic to your husband :P

Just kidding...

Your systems kind of go into overdrive and all kinds of chemicals are released, maybe you picked up gluten from somewhere and you react more because all of your body chemicals get thrown around?

Best I could think of...

Actually, I was kind of allergic to my ex. It was the oil in his skin. My face got all these little tiny red bumps every time we saw each other in the beginning, when we had a long distance relationship. When we saw each other regularly (not long distance) I got used to him and didn't have those skin problems. Weird.

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
