what its MSG and is it related to Celiac at all? I ate peanuts and I think they made me sick. Is it in peanut butter too? What else is it in? I hate being sick all the time, I am so discouraged :(

MSG is monosodium glutamate, here is an article on it Open Original Shared Link

The section about "it may cause reactions in certain people" is my favorite part. Many celiacs report problems with it.

I personally get stomach aches and nightmares if I ingest it.

MSG is gluten free, but SOME ppl react badly to it (reguardless of celiac disease), most ppl do not seem to. How ever whenn your healing from celiac disease your system is weaker from the damage and you will often react to things now that will be "safe" for you when your healed. Dairy is a big example of this.

As for peanut butter, it could have gluten in it I guess, I only buy "natural" peanutbutter which has ONLY peanuts and salt in it, no chemicals, no dyes, no hidden junk, etc. Becuase of this I have not looked in to the ones liek Jiff, Skippy, etc that add all that junk in to it.

just as a heads up, I read somewhere that MSG may also be listed as "yeast extract" on ingredient lists... I've since seen yeast extract on some microwave meals and chips

MSG is gluten-free. I have no problems at all with it.

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
