HOLY COW THEY TASTE GOOD :lol: Been looking for a vitman that my toddler son not only COULD eat, but WOULD eat. Which all you parents know is TOUGH! Well few ppl here mention these "L'il Critters Gummy Vites" and I saw them in our grocery store. It says right on the bottle its gluten-free, and made on a dedidcatd gluten-free line. NO eggs either!!

Heck, I think they taste better then most of the gummie bear candy clones!! LOL. Our problem now is convincing our son that he can ONLY have ONE! :o Heck its hard to convince ME not to eat them like candy.

It has no artifical colors/flavors either, theres no way I could have predicted how GOOD these things taste!

If your looking for a vitman for you child, get these!

My mom has cancer -- had a difficult time on Chemo with "adult" vitamins -- she started taking these -- she loves them! She said that she wouldn't go back to regular vitamins! She gave me one -- you're right -- they're DELICIOUS!!

Awesome! I have a lot of trouble with grown-up vitamins, they tend to make me sick

I usually take flinstones (not now, but when I'm on a vitamin kick), are the gummies gentle on the tummy?

I do not believe Flinstones are gluten-free. :(

But that aside, I guess they are gentel on the tummy, I have no way to judge that though. Ive not had a problem nor has my son. :)

These are the only gluten-free vitamins I can get my kids to take. I also give them the L'il Critters Calcium Gummy Bears. They are sour fruit flavors.

Vincent, you can give give your son two a day as a full dose. :)

Well they say from 2 to 4yrs old 1 per day, after that 2 per day. Even still I am not sure giving him 1 more will make it easier  might just encourage him to go for more!

Sorry about the misinformation. The bottle I have says 2 per day. It does NOT have an age range. It has been a while since I bought any. We buy the giant bottle at Costco and it lasts well over a month if my 3 kids remember to take them everyday, which they never do. <_< I think last time we bought 2 or 3 bottles, so it has been a while. They must have changed the bottle since then.

I just looked at my bottle and it agrees with what you said, this page on thier web site :

Is where I got the 2-4 info from. Odd. OKay well maybe I will let him have two then LOL that should be fun!

That was a funny little webpage there.

If a child accidentally ate an entire 60-count bottle of Gummy Vites, the effects would be similar to those experienced after eating 5 ounces of plain gummy bear candy: upset stomach or stomach pain, temporary constipation or diarrhea.

I'd be concerned if they were eating the whole bottle! Especially since the bottles we get are 200-count!

We have also tried the Fruit and Veggie Bears. I thought they would be good when on vacation and my kids are not eating as many fruit/veggies as they normally do. They were okay, but sort of melted into a blob on the way home from the store (1 hour drive) and we had to peel them apart. It wasn't even very warm, so if you try them I suggest at least keep them in an ice chest on the way home if you have a longish drive!

we like these too, I've tried to get Chey to take other vitamins and most of the gluten free ones we find, she won't touch. We used to get a childrens multi v from Dollar Tree, but the ones around here stopped carrying them, so... I got the Lil Critters and we both love em.

I like the *accidental* part of the statment. Oops, I accidentally kept reaching into the jar and accidentally put more in my mouth and accidentally chewed and accidentally swallowed and accidently repeated the motion SIXTY TIMES :o

My dd and I love them as well. I recently discovered that they come in larger bottles. I had been buying them at Wal-mart but at Walgreen's I found the 120 count! She used to take Hero Nutritionals Yummi Bears but they're sour. She liked them of awhile and then got to where she wouldn't take them. They also say gluten-free on the bottle. That makes life so much easier dosen't it!!

I had a problem with the gluten-free adult vitamin that I was taking previously because it made my stomach really hurt. I do great with the gummies. I just take a FEW throughout the day to space them out.... :D My dd is 3 1/2 and I usually give her two.

So, what you're saying is, I shouldn't be eating 5 Calcium bears and 3 gummy vites after my kids go to bed?

EXACTLY! Dontcha hate when that happens to you?

 I guess that depends on how many you had before they went to bed!

Thanks for the tip, but I dont think the sour varities woudl go over well here.

Vincent, when you said that about the "sour" not going over very well at your house, the first thing I though was man my kids can't get enough sour! Then I thought about the ones I had gotten (about 2 years ago) were NOT sour. So I went back to the website and there you go, sour! They must have had other people complain about how easily they melted, then reformulated them and made them sour. My kids might like them better now! I'll have to check them out again. :D

We love these vitamins. They taste just like gummy bears! My son begs for them. I have to keep them up really high so he can't get to them. It is tempting to eat more than two. How many can adults have? :D

We love those here!!

I'm on a multi vitamin quest for my daughter too. So they are gluten and egg free. Are they also dairy free? The site did not list the ingredients.

I'm so psyched!! I found these vitamins at Sams Club! A big bottle for a reasonable price!! I can't wait to give them to her tommorrow. We don't do anything new during the week in case of problems.

Anyone have a calcium recommendation - something NOT cultured on dairy?

You may also need to supplement with B12 as this vitamin is also involved in iron assimilation and is often deficient in long-term undiagnosed celiac disease.
    • trents
@par18, no, Scott's use of the term "false negative" is intentional and appropriate. The "total IGA" test is not a test used to diagnose celiac disease per se. The IGA immune spectrum response encompasses more than just celiac disease. So, "total IGA" refers to the whole pie, not just the celiac response part of it. But if the whole pie is deficient, the spectrum of components making it up will likely be also, including the celiac disease response spectrum. In other words, IGA deficiency may produce a tTG-IGA score that is negative that might have been positive had there not been IGA deficiency. So, the tTG-IGA negative score may be "false", i.e, inaccurate, aka, not to be trusted.

This may be the problem. Every time you eat gluten it is like giving a booster shot to your immune system, telling it to react and produce antibodies again.
    • asaT
Scott, I am mostly asymptomatic. I was diagnosed based on high antibodies, low ferritin (3) and low vitamin D (10). I wasn't able to get in for the biopsy until 3 months after the blood test came back. I was supposed to keep eating gluten during this time. Well why would I continue doing something that I know to be harmful for 3 more months to just get this test? So I did quit gluten and had the biopsy. It was negative for celiacs. I continued gluten free with iron supps and my ferritin came back up to a reasonable, but not great level of around 30-35.  Could there be something else going on? Is there any reason why my antibodies would be high (>80) with a negative biopsy? could me intestines have healed that quickly (3 months)?  I'm having a hard time staying gluten free because I am asymptomatic and i'm wondering about that biopsy. I do have the celiacs gene, and all of the antibody tests have always come back high. I recently had them tested again. Still very high. I am gluten free mostly, but not totally. I will occasionally eat something with gluten, but try to keep to a minimum. It's really hard when the immediate consequences are nil.  with high antibodies, the gene, but a negative biopsy (after 3 months strict gluten-free), do i really have celiacs? please say no. lol. i think i know the answer.  Asa

I have had a long year of testing unfortunately still not diagnosed , although one thing they definitely agree I'm gluten intolerant, the thing for me I have severe back troubles they wouldnt perform the tests and I couldn't have a full MRI because I'm allergic to the solution , we tryed believe me  I tryed lol , another was to have another blood test after consuming gluten but it makes me so bad I tryed it for only a week, and because I have a trapped sciatic nerve when I get bad bowels it sets that off terribly so I just take it on myself now , I eat a gluten free diet , I'm the best I've ever been , and if I slip I know it so for me i have my own diagnosis  and I act accordingly, sometimes it's not so straight forward for some of us , for the first time in years I can plan to go out , and I have been absorbing my food better , running to the toilet has become occasionally now instead of all the time , i hope you find a solution 🤗
