Rachel,

If you ever experiment with making different kids of ice cream, see if you can invent an ice cream called:

"Arctic Altoids" :D

Hugs.

Karen

:lol::lol::lol:

Too bad I cant have Altoids though. I cant share in the joys of Altoids and all things having to do with Altoids. :(

Its soooo sad...aint it.

Lisa Mentor

Oh yeah, the Altoidmobile would drive around Rachelville every evening between 5 and 6, slowing cruizing the neighborhood, the gingle on the altoidmoble would be _________?______________, and all the hard working men, who have just come home, all run out of their homes, just like we did when the Ice Cream truck did when we were little.

Now, what is the gingle? (thought of an old Michael Jackson song, but did not want to go there, afterall this is Rachelville :) )

The Altoidmobile will have a REALLY, REALLY BIG BUN. Because we have a REALLY, REALLY BIG BAKERY in Rachelville, gluten free of course. Zoning has already passed.

Andrea, You're kids are all so adorable. Love the new pic. :)

Have fun tonight playing softball, Rachel. Just remember, keep your eye on the ball, and wait for the ball to come to you before you swing! B)

Thanks Patti. :)

I bet you said this a million times to your son when he was playing ball. :D

Luckily I got some practice in at the cages the other night. I did well until I tried fast pitch just for the heck of it....never tried fast pitch....its alot harder than it looked. <_<

After that my timing got messed up cuz the fast pitches threw me off. Hopefully I'm over that now. ;)

RACH! I forgot to mention, if you looking to cut costs on the homande icecream, uses all half-half, its pretty close to the whipping cream/milk combo, but at $1.19 per quart (can you guess what I was buying today and making tonight LOL) its alot cheaper then whipping cream. :D

I have done it. See by adding milk your basicly "watering" down the whipping cream and half/half falls between milk and whipping cream for fat content, and as we stated fat is the magic key to ice cream! :D Try it, personal tastes always vary so you may even like it better or not. I will be making strawberry tonight and only plan to use 1/2 n 1/2 cause we needed diapers and that put us over budget already LOL.

Rachel,

In our ice cream making days about 8-10 years ago, we used half and half at times. It is still just as good.

Cecile,

Yea for the kids! :P

What's a food budget....I forget. Seems we never stay on budget. Hubby got a pay raise but got his miles cut so far, still got to figure things out with getting our van. :(

A quick hello to all in R'Ville.... my days have been a bit hard but my kids just put a contract on a home... yaaaaa hoooooo keep them in your prayers so everything goes smooth.

Yay! How exciting. :)

Thanks Vincent and Andrea....for the half n half tip. I'm gonna try it next time. I'm gonna follow your advice Andrea and chill out a little on the ice cream....as sad as it will be....I know its a little too much right now. I gotta calm down.

You'll have to speak to the design team, but yes, I do think this is within code rules for Rachelville. Please, not too provacative, given the nature of your role, and all. ;)

I came across this when I searched for "low histamine foods"...someone has probably already posted it, but I thought I'd post again anyway, lol:

Glad you posted this Donna, read it all thru. Not sure if I need this info but if I do will have it!! :) Mercury has been a concern for me for a long time but in this state dentists can not remove it but I have composite put in where a filling needs replaced or a new one, have had a lot of them. Also the autistic children is quite a concern. A friend of mine has a nephew/ that problem but the mother does not think he has much of a problem??? Thank you so much for this post and etc. too, I appreciate your research!! :):)

I posted early pm that I had a bad tummy...burning. Have decided I have lost another food (turkey), always liked that but we become allergic to some of our favorite foods.

Have not read many posts, is there better news from Megan, hopefully? evie

MEGAN UPDATE

FRIDAY, JULY 28, 2006 06:22 PM, CDT

Megan had a really good day. The fever is still spiking for no apparent reason, but her bloodwork still didn't show any sign of infection. She even sat up in bed and played with toys a few times today.

Dr. Drinkwater, her surgeon, came by tonight and helped to settle our fears about the fevers. He thinks it is a rejection of sorts causing the fevers, but thinks she will adjust to it in a few days. He said it's more of an allergic reaction than a true rejection. She looks so good otherwise, he is not concerned that it will be anything that would precipitate needing another surgery - Thank God!!!!

The Tcell count they did won't be back until tomorrow. That should give us a better indication of whether or not rejection is the issue. Dr. Drinkwater said that as long as infection is not present, though, she should build up antibodies to be able to tolerate it. Pray that he's right.

She looks sooo much better. We also were told that we will have to continue to keep Megan in for about 6 weeks after surgery because of risk of infection, but should be able to be out more after that. We'll still have to be very careful through cold and flu season, but not as bad as last year.

Thanks for all the prayers today. God is still hearing and responding! He has big plans for Megan, plans for a future and a hope....

Love to all - Jarod, Tanya, Cole, and Megan Hope

Celia - yay for your kids.

Good news on Megan!

Evie - you're welcome! It's a whole lot of info...I'm trying to figure out the histamine thing AND the inflammation thing...I think I've decided to get the histamine thing down first then tweak it in a few weeks to include the inflammation thing, lol.

Speaking of histamine...my legs are really itchy again today...hoping if I reduce the histamine levels a bit that might go away. <_<

I'll bet it will--I had a lot of itchiness on my upper arms. I've been eating this way for a while now, and I don't itch anymore at all.

Now, if I could do something about these hot flashes!

OMG...does this mean you actually read one of my "scientific" posts??

hold on for this - a shocker - I read EVERY WORD of EVERY SINGLE PERSON"S scientific posts. That's right! HOw will I keep up if I don't? not that I ever remotely retain all of it, and soemtimes I read through them ever-so-quickly, but yes, I do read them all! But will still flunk the science test when it's given - (remember, I'm part of the....what is it? garden and design team? speaking of the garden team.....guess what, fixed my own sprinklers today, filthy, covered in mud, with a dog licking salt off my face.....and me, happy as a clam! :rolleyes:WHO NEEDS A MAN? (well, one day I WILL want a husband, you know, to test out the Altoids and other fun stuff..... ;) )

And, if I didn't read all the posts and know what you all are going through, what kind of citizen of our cult town would I be? :o

Yes, Patti, feeling better.....sometimes the devil likes to give me a really bad day, I think, so God can remind me of the really good ones.....after all, without the major storms, there would be no fields of green...... :) Dang I'm starting to get philosophical, must go eat....

Bad tummy-ache and gas-bomb bloat  from those wicked Baked Lays though....ugh.... will take them over to a friend's now....must remove them....

Holy cravings Batman, I am going to have to get my own ice-cream maker now....any recommendations?

edit - hey you guys - did you see that thread entitled "I found spinach" or something like that? thought we might have gotten busted or something  about too much spinaching of our pants, but it was a serious question about....spinach!:lol:

Hi Susan--Good to hear you feeling so chipper! My rec. on the ice cream machine--get the Cuisinart. Several of us have it--it's very easy to use!

Yes, I, too, have osteoporosis from years of malabsorption, too.  Thiamine and magnesium are what keep the calcium in place in the bones.  If one is low in magnesium, boron, selenium, zinc, copper, and other trace minerals, ones bone heath can suffer.  We need more than just calcium and Vitamin D for strong bones.  Riboflavin B 2, Folate B 9 and Pyridoxine B 6 also contribute to bone formation and strength.   Have you had your thyroid checked?  The thyroid is important to bone health as well.  The thyroid uses lots of thiamine, so a poorly functioning thyroid will affect bone heath.
    • Celiac50
That sounds so very likely in my case! I will absolutely ask my doctor on my next bone check coming up in March... Thanks a lot!
    • trents
Calcium levels as measured in the blood can be quite deceiving as the body will rob calcium from the bones to meet demands for it by other bodily functions. Also, supplementing with calcium can be counterproductive as it tends to raise gut pH and decrease absorption. More often than not, the problem is poor absorption to begin with rather than deficiency of intake amounts in the diet. Calcium needs an acidic environment to be absorbed. This is why so many people on PPIs develop osteoporosis. The PPIs raise gut pH. And some people have high gut PH for other reasons. Low pH equates to a more acidic environment whereas high pH equates to a more basic (less acidic) environment.

Kind thanks for all this valuable information! Since my Folate was/is low and also my Calcium, there IS a chance I am low in B vitamins... My doctor only measured the first two, oh and Zinc as I has twisted her arm and guess what, that was mega low too. So who knows, until I get myself tested properly, what else I am deficient in... I did a hair mineral test recently and it said to avoid All sources of Calcium. But this is confusing for me as my Ca is so low and I have osteoporosis because of this. It is my Adjusted Ca that is on the higher side and shouldn't be. So am not sure why the mineral test showed high Ca (well, it was medium in the test but relative to my lowish Magnesium, also via hair sample, it was high I was told). But anyway, thanks again for the VitB download, I will look into this most certainly!

Hello good afternoon, I was wondering if anyone has ever brought their anti-allergy pills? I have been wanting to use their Cetirizine HCI 10mg. They are called HealthA2Z and distributed by Allegiant Health.I’m also Asthmatic and these allergies are terrible for me but I also want to be sure they don’t have any sort of gluten compound.    I have tried calling them but to no avail. Has anyone ever used them? If so, did you had any problems or no problems at all?    thank you
