Yep. We'll miss the dinner but that's ok. We'll see him Friday-Monday. Mitch will probably be quite tired going to work on Tuesday morning. We get into the airport at 2 am. Seth's schedule will be totally out of wack, but it'll be worth it to see my dad. We should all be over our colds by then too.

Andrea, I am really glad to hear you are making arrangements to go be with your Dad. I know it will mean a lot to him having you there, and it will be good for you too. Years from now you will look back and treasure the visit :)

Rachel, too bad it didn't work out with your ex ... friendship is nice to build a relationship on. It's good you have him as a friend.

I play flute at Church. When I first started playing I was constantly reminding myself not to sing during the parts of Mass that are sung, but when I don't play, because I'm standing in front of a microphone!! I need to remember this for the prayers, too. I "lip sinc" everything, prayers, etc. During most of the music though, I'm playing.

Rachel, I was always organized in regards to bill paying but at some point it became a source of anxiety for me and I began to avoid it. Like you, even though the money was there I would let it drag on, finally I asked my sweetie to take on the bill paying and he has. :(

I find I really have to work at getting small tasks done, chores are like mountains and I have to work myself up to climbing them, somedays even the smallest task seems like it will take too much energy and I let it slide.

The singing sounds wonderful. I never made the school choir :( they wouldn't even let me lip sync. :lol:

I used to sing in the school choirs and also in an ensemble my senior year of school.

Can't sing much anymore. :( My voice is way out of practice.

Ever since I got sick everything changed....I procrastinate on everything. I will let my bills just sit because its too hard to *think* or to balance my checkbook. Um.....hi, you could be describing MY WHOLE LIFE here :huh: .....well, not the whole of it but big chunks and esp. in the last 10 years. RACHEL - - you MUST set up online bill pay! Takes a bit of time to sep up, an hour or two, but is the EASIEST thing in teh world. No checks/stamps/envelopes.....just click and pay. My bills are paid every month in about 30 seconds.....I happen to have perfect credit and this may be part of it. :)

OMG Rinne.....some chores are like the last leg of Everest, the Hillary Step without supplemental oxygen....I know exactly what you mean.

Hi Debbie. :)

Susan, herxing is the die off of the bacteria and the reaction you have to it flooding your system with toxins and generally making you feel ill, it is complicated by the fact that Lyme binds with mercury and pesticides so that when they are killed off the mercury and pesticides flush into your system as well. I don't think herxing has to be as severe as Rachel experienced but because nothing had been done to help her detox and given all the mercury from the bad dentist naturally she got really sick. Does that sound correct to you Rachel?

Where do we go from here? This is what we've been trying to figure out here for the past 7 months...how do we find and get on the right path to regain our health??

Rinne and I have just been diagnosed with Lyme this past month...now we are on the correct path. :)

Hopefully others will soon get their answers and join us on the "Wellness Path".

Welcome to our "not so little" thread....we're a joyful and super supportive clan...we've had many good times here while we continue searching for answers until we all get better. :)

Yup...we WILL all get better. :D

Susan...you are SO right...its only been suggested to me about 100 times but I shrug it off because it seems too complicated to set it up. :ph34r:

I am going to make this my mission for the week...to get my mom to help me so that I dont get overwhelmed by the whole "set-up" process. I think this will be REALLY helpful if I can just get it all set up......once I'm past that it should be a breeze. Thanks for reminding me. :D

When you have online banking do they still send you bills? One HUGE problem I have (which also deters me from bill-paying) is the fact that freakin Macy's sprays the heck out of the bill with PERFUME! :angry:

I asked them NOT to do this and suppossedely I am on the "perfume-free" list but they ALWAYS manage to screw it up. I HATE them right now and am seriously considering not shopping there after their obvious disregard for the health and concerns of their customers.

Two months ago they removed a $50 late charge in apology for their negligence. Then the next month they send my bill with perfume AGAIN. :angry:

Its not only the Macy's bill that is affected but ALL of my mail....because it contaminates all the mail its been sitting with. When this happens I get a big reaction...end up in tears....cant pay the bills....get frusterated....throw all the bills in the air....cry into a pillow and yell about how I hate Macy's. Its total drama. :ph34r:

And I wonder why my mom is stressed out with me in the house. :lol:

So....if I do online bill paying....will they stop mailing the bills and contaminating all my mail with their chemicals?? This would make me very happy. :D

Yeah....it sounds right. I herxed and it was not fun. :(

Susan....yeah it can hurt. Its like every symptom you ever had hitting you at once or a milder herx reaction could just feel like the flu or you could just experiene headache or fatigue.

I think I got a big herx reaction.

Rachel, you are SAVED by online bill-pay! Yes, you can request e-bills from each company you wish, no more paper bills , they just come via email. But, make sure your bank has free bill-pay (or very cheap - Bank of America is free) and request no paper bills......it will take 2 - 3 months and then...no more! This will save your life in so many ways! Listen, if *I* with my very flawed brain can do it, I know you can. ;)

Off to bed. Just got home from the pub where my niece works. I flirted - heavily - for the first time since the breakup. wow. It was so much fun....the nicest and kindest and most funny geologist.....but he is 10 years younger. Hah, he doesn't care but *I* do......... :o But the point is, I felt so free and recovered from that heinous relationship, it felt like such a step of healing for me. did I mention he is a fly-fisherman and wants a cabin more than anything? :o:lol: We had a lot in common.

Don't get all excited everyone....I mean Bev. :lol::lol::lol: But it was a great sign of progress for me. :)

That's wonderful, flirting can be very good medicine. :ph34r::lol: I miss my German men friends, some of them were wonderful at flirting and flirting without any destination in mind.

Hmmmm, I wonder about that. Although I was using sls free stuff (I think) last year. Seems my flareup is always in the fall.

Me too!!. Maybe it's the lack of sunlight (my eczema disappears in the summer) <_<

I have been busy booking flight/hotel/car for going down to see dad Thanksgiving weekend. We will all be going down....leaving the evening of the 23rd and coming back in the wee hours of the 28th. Talked to dad for a few minutes this morning and he agrees with us coming down over that weekend and Mitch will only have to take one extra day off w/o pay.

Glad you're gonna get to see your Dad - hope all goes well :)

My mom's hubby is 15 years younger....they are the perfect happiest couple ever...they do everything together. :)

I think my mom waited several years to agree to marry him though....wanting to make sure the age difference wouldnt be a problem.

Oh...did I mention The Dave is 13 years younger than me?? :o

Hehe....we are not in a relationship but yes....he is quite young....a baby actually. :unsure:

Just got back to VA....unpacking and such....wedding was beautiful!

How come all the people on that film site are so sick?? :unsure: It scares me. I never got to see the trailer but I read all the other stuff.....saw the sample characters, read the things that people write in and saw the "faces of Lyme". Everyone seemed real sick. Is this because of them using antibiotics??

It seems like they dont get better. :(

I have my Dr. appt. tomorrow....I wonder what he will say about treatment. Also, what about co-infections?? Dont we need testing for those now?? I think Igenix tests for co-infections. I'll have to ask the Dr. about it. I'm pretty sure there were co-infections in the bioset test but she never told me if I responded to any.

The BioSET lady is more positive about my recovery I think. My Dr. seems more grave and more serious about it. When I ask if I'll get better he just says "It will be HARD." :(

Is it even possible to get all the way better?? :unsure:

Rachel, I don't think that doctor understands that you wouldn't even be sitting there if you didn't have the strength of ten women and as for it being HARD, I think you can take hard any day. :)

So glad the Lime Green Beetle is appreciated, I am going to put it on my wish list. :lol:

Laura, glad you had a wonderful time, weddings are always a wonderful opportunity if you are already married to have that feeling of renewing your vows. I always cry. :)

      Not necessarily. The "Gluten Free" label means not more than 20ppm of gluten in the product which is often not enough for super sensitive celiacs. You would need to be looking for "Certified Gluten Free" (GFCO endorsed) which means no more than 10ppm of gluten. Having said that, "Gluten Free" doesn't mean that there will necessarily be more gluten than "Certified...

      Currently, there are no tests for NCGS. Celiac disease must first be ruled out and we do have testing for celiac disease. There are two primary test modalities for diagnosing celiac disease. One involves checking for antibodies in the blood. For the person with celiac disease, when gluten is ingested, it produces an autoimmune response in the lining of the small bowel which generates specific kinds of antibodies. Some people are IGA deficient and such that the IGA antibody tests done for celiac disease will have skewed results and cannot be trusted. In that case, there are IGG tests that can be ordered though, they aren't quite as specific for celiac disease as the IGA tests. But the possibility of IGA deficiency is why a "total IGA" test should always be ordered along with the TTG-IGA. The other modality is an endoscopy (scoping of the upper GI track) with a biopsy of the small bowel lining. The aforementioned autoimmune response produces inflammation in the small bowel lining which, over time, damages the structure of the lining. The biopsy is sent to a lab and microscopically analyzed for signs of this damage. If the damage is severe enough, it can often be spotted during the scoping itself. The endoscopy/biopsy is used as confirmation when the antibody results are positive, since there is a small chance that elevated antibody test scores can be caused by things other than celiac disease, particularly when the antibody test numbers are not particularly high. If the antibody test numbers are 10x normal or higher, physicians will sometimes declare an official diagnosis of celiac disease without an endoscopy/biopsy, particularly in the U.K. Some practitioners use stool tests to detect celiac disease but this modality is not widely recognized in the medical community as valid. Both celiac testing modalities outlined above require that you have been consuming generous amounts of gluten for weeks/months ahead of time. Many people make the mistake of experimenting with the gluten free diet or even reducing their gluten intake prior to testing. By doing so, they invalidate the testing because antibodies stop being produced, disappear from the blood and the lining of the small bowel begins to heal. So, then they are stuck in no man's land, wondering if they have celiac disease or NCGS. To resume gluten consumption, i.e., to undertake a "gluten challenge" is out of the question because their reaction to gluten is so strong that it would endanger their health. The lining of the small bowel is the place where all of the nutrition in the food we consume is absorbed. This lining is made up of billions of microscopically tiny fingerlike projections that create a tremendous nutrient absorption surface area. The inflammation caused by celiac disease wears down these fingers and greatly reduces the surface area needed for nutrient absorption. Thus, people with celiac disease often develop iron deficiency anemia and a host of other vitamin and mineral deficiencies. It is likely that many more people who have issues with gluten suffer from NCGS than from celiac disease. We actually know much more about the mechanism of celiac disease than we do about NCGS but some experts believe NCGS can transition into celiac disease.

I wish I had known of this at the time of her diagnosis, life would have been much easier.  I hope you are able to figure out.

Mainly he kept saying his legs were shaking. Is this a gluten exposure symptom that anyone else gets? Also the bad behavior?
