whats going on with you these days health wise? I miss you!!! are you still off the nut butters.

Doing okay mostly...had bad D over the weekend, and feeling very unable to process much info lately, but otherwise not bad. :P Back on the nut butters...until I can add more foods back to my diet, that's about the only thing I can eat that has lots of good fat to keep me full. I'm thinking it may be like the ice cream thing was for Rachel...it's one of the few things I can eat, but I know it isn't good for me...maybe in the end if I cut it out my gut will heal even more and I can add more foods. :P:ph34r: I did okay with the avocado I ate a couple of weeks ago, so maybe I can add that instead. At least the nut butters tested well in BioSET...not so for the avocado.

Christine, I think this was SO WELL stated.

Your's was pretty well stated too. I am greatly affected by negativity, so I really try to avoid it...I can feel it suck the life out of me. I always try to avoid negative threads or threads which look like they might be negative. I don't even open the ones that have titles that look controversial, lol.

rachel and laura i see both of you- if i told you it would improve my health if you posted would you do it? I love you guys

Aw mia, you're so darned cute!

Hey all

I ahve not posted in a while. I must say i miss this place!!!!!!!! I realize(call me pathetic if you have to ) that this thread was and is a big part of my life. It is the one place i can go where people understand what i am going through. It seems so strange riight now though.

I have lots to post on what i have been doing but i am out of it and will do so later I just really wanted to check in and say i miss everyone here. I hope there is a way to return to how it was i think i need it!!!

It is sad things have changed so much. Hopefully, given time we can get it back......don't know though. The main thing is to keep the thread alive and warm for those who may be thinking of coming back once the negativity takes the back burner again.

I'll be waiting for your update when you're able to Miamia.

Laura hasn't sent out her update yet.

Back on the nut butters...until I can add more foods back to my diet, that's about the only thing I can eat that has lots of good fat to keep me full. If avocado isn't testing well then I would think the nut butter (although not a huge amount) would be better at this point. You can only do so much and you need the nutrients. I don't remember if almond butter is ok for you but that has more nutrients in it than most nuts.

Christine, I think you asked how the children were doing. I'm trying to get used to saying children, because as my daughter says "we aren't goats".........although we remind her that sometimes her behavior is like a kids so kid fits. :P

Everyone is doing well. Our schedule has been kinda late lately. Going to make it rough to be up and out of the house around 7 on Thursday. I'll have to keep the children busy looking for car colors or types of cars.....I'll probably need it to help me stay alert too.

Jin, hope everything goes well for your dad. Was he meeting with that person for a job today?

Mia,

How could I possibly not respond to this??

Yes, Donna is right...you are just too darned cute! :)

I love all you guys too....and yes....I miss everyone.

I'm just taking it easy right now....I had to step back because I guess my "happy" place just wasnt making me feel too happy lately. I dont do to well in a negative environment so had to think of my health first.

This threads been an important part of my life too so its definately been a loss for me this past week. I know I cant go a day without checking to see how everyone is feeling.

I've been thinking more and more about what this thread means to some of us and I would love it if we could continue in the supportive and loving manner that made this thread so special in the first place. I dont know if its possible to bring it all back but I dont know if its possible for me to just walk away either. I've been kind of torn about that and I think everyone here knows what each of you means to me.

It wouldnt be like losing "one" friend....its more like losing a whole support system....a whole community of friends who have been in my life for so long now....and even the new people who have come in here more recently.

I think I might be a little hesitant about the scientificness right now  ... but I know I need you guys and I would be sad to not have this place to come to everyday.

This past week has been good for me though. I got to chat with alot of people one on one which was nice....I usually just stick to posting in the thread so it was nice to do the emails and to get to know some people better. :)

Some of you already know but to update the rest....I'm super excited for my upcoming appt. on the 25th...yes...I'm counting the days...9 more to go!! :D

I'm going to start my LED treatments finally. The 25th will just be testing for the various toxins and getting a plan together with the Dr. It'll be a 2 hour visit.

I already talked to someone on the phone and got alot of info. I was told the Dr. has been doing the laser treatments for years now but they keep getting better and better at it as the treatments get more advanced. They have experience with the more complicated cases and are treating alot of autistic kids....which was reassuring to me.

She said they will be giving me alot of support/supplements and also oral chelators (DMSA or DMPS) to help move all the mobilized toxins out. She said they are very careful and go slow with the more toxic individuals. She did say that people are getting better from the LED's so I'm pretty excited to get started...to say the least.

I told Patti I'm dreaming of eating pumpkin pie with Cool Whip for Xmas!! :D

I was planning on waiting until after my appt. on the 25th to see how I feel about posting but I have to say that Mia's post just melted my heart.

I was also happy to see Rinne back....(missed you) and Jin's posts just seemed WAY too short.

Sorry for all the craziness and for what it did to R-ville...I know I could have handled things in a much better way. :(

Just wanted to let everyone know what I was feeling and my good news about LED....I've been holding it in for a whole week now! :o

Jin....I talked to Lisa yesterday...she cant get on the computer because she's hypersensitive to the smell of some whey protein that her brother has been drinking in his room. The computer is in his room so shes been staying away because she gets reactions. :(

Mia....you know I would do anything to improve your health.

Rinne....I look forward to hearing your thoughts as well. :)

AndreaB Contributor

It's good to see you Rachel. I'm almost as excited for your appointment as you are.....if you can believe that. :D Talitha's upcoming one is taking part of that right now. Then I'll have almost a week to be sitting on my hands waiting for yours.

Thanks for the update on Lisa. I've been concerned about her as well.

As far as the negativity......seems the whole board has been erupting with that lately. I've missed my "home" here. I too, hope we can get back the support system this thread has come to represent.

Although my family has a lot of different food intolerances, we aren't chronically ill so it makes it difficult for me to do much more then be here for those of you who need support.....as well as taking support when I need it, which everyone is so good to give.

Claire, if you pop in I'd still like to hear your thoughts with your experience with LED.

jerseyangel Proficient

Boy o boy--talk about fate...and good timing! I was literally coming on just to sign out--at least for a while. There has been much unpleasantness lately on the board in general, and for me it seemed to come to a head last night.

I have been sad all day, couldn't sleep and had palpitations for hours last night. Between the loss of my "safe place" here on "our" thread and the seemingly constant having to walk on eggshells on the rest of the board...I was thinking I needed a break.

Well, a much-appreciated PM was waiting and then I saw that Rachel had posted. I was so very happy to see this! Remember when I posted the lyrics to the "Cheers" song? I really do think of all of you in that way. I felt terrible about what happened here recently. I was missing all of the good feelings, support and friendships we've built up over the last year and a half.

I always say that everything happens for a reason--so, I guess I wasn't meant to leave  I so second what Rachel said about continuing on in the spirit that made this place what it came to mean to all of us.

I think ya'll are stuck with me :D

I'm a little happier now :)

AndreaB Contributor

Patti,

Seems like a lot of us are getting tired of the bickering going on in the rest of the board.

I typically stay out of things, but I did try to tame some things down in the last few days.

I'll be happy to come back "home" again for a reprieve.......boy do we need it.

I'm sorry you took some attacks, totally unnecessary and unexcusable. Why can't people see that everyone is in a different spot and leave well enough alone. I'd rather be safe than sorry too btw and I'm not super sensitive. You have a lot of value you add to this board. Take a break, except for here, if need be. The others can pick up and I always do if I see things need tended to.

And back at ya ;) --I appreciate the way you quietly go about being so supportave and tending to the day to day maintainance on the board. :)

You guys are all so sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  But alas, like Rachel, I need a break from the board (as I post  anyway). Everytime I open my email I see more PM's about arguments on threads and what-not going on and right now I gotta take care of me. The abx are killing my tummy and I'm feeling pretty down.

So, I'm going to go sit in my nice cool cave for awhile and relax. I'll definitely come on from time to time to read, but probably won't post as much. Need to clear my head and come back

but.....wanted you to know I    you all.

Wow, I'm glad I haven't been reading many threads at all lately then! :P Didn't realize there was strife elsewhere!

I really feel for you moderators...don't know how you do it. I couldn't be a moderator and deal with it, that's for sure!

I think I might be a little hesitant about the scientificness right now

Please don't hesitate ... everyone loves the scientificness, even if there are times that the brain fog doesn't allow one to understand or even read it ... the only thing anyone (me B) ) had a problem with was feeling like there was no room for other opinions ... you can always find research to support differing theories ... the doctors don't even agree on this stuff. ;) I think the more theories out there, the better. It makes all of us think and learn.

Do not in any way hesitate to post your scientificness.

I know I could have handled things in a much better way. :(

I think both of us could have. ;) Hindsight is 20/20 ... I think both of us would have handled it differently. It really was a tiny issue that got to be way too big.

I'm sorry to all of you for my part in the turmoil. :(

I haven't decided where to go from here ... whether to start posting again or not ...

AndreaB Contributor

Carla, you are just as welcome here as anyone else. We can't make you stay if you don't want to, anymore than we can anyone else........but we'll be here if you decide to come back more frequently.

Yup....it must have been fate (and alot of sweetness from Mia). I do believe everything happens for a reason and I guess we are both meant to stay right where we are. :)

I guess I'm really glad I havent been venturing around the board too much the past several days.

I dont know exactly what was going on but it doesnt sound good. :(

I'm glad you didnt leave and hopefully we can maintain our "safe" place right here. :)

It wouldnt be the same without you Patti.

Ditto on that!! I didnt even check the reports in my pm box until today. Everything happens for a reason and I just wasnt meant to see more strife. :P

Donna....when are you doing your solo? I know you sang in front of the choir guy and that seemed to go really well. So now are you ready to "wow" everyone?? :D

Like Andrea said...take your time and do what you need to do to take care of yourself. Sorry about the tummy....hope you get back to some 5+5's real soon.

EVERYONE ON THIS THREAD IS PRETENTIOUS AND OBNOXIOUS AND PRETENDS TO KNOW MORE THAN THEY REALLY DO. YOU-ALL BLATHER ON ENDLESSLY ABOUT SILLY UNPROVEN TREATMENTS THAT WILL NEVER WORK AND JUST WASTE TIME AND MONEY. GROW THE F*** UP!!!

There, now you can all yell at me and stop sniping at each other because I think all of you need the collective knowledge that's been accumulating on this thread.

I'll try to work on this. I just usually research the topics that interest me and that make the most sense to me....so thats what I'm excited about when I'm posting. I just post as I learn. I never expect everyone to agree with it. I guess I dont look for all the differing theories...I just post the stuff that I believe in or the stuff that seems to be helping people the most.

Thats where my main interest lies..."What is working for other people in the same situation as me?" I get really excited about those things and I always want to share it with everyone. I know some people wont be interested and not everyone will be as excited about it as I am. I dont want people to feel like they have to agree with it, or comment on it....or even read it if its not of interest.

I've posted in the same way and with the same enthusiasm over everything I've learned since the beginning of the thread. Lately I guess some subjects have been more "sensitive". I think Sherry made some good points in her post and I'll try to put more thought into how I present stuff in my posts.

I usually just go into "scientific mode" and post it the way it was written or what is most easily understood since sometimes its hard for other people to read.

I think we needed a punching bag around here.....thanks for offering yourself up! :P

One of these days one of these silly unproven treatments is really gonna work...and then I'll be eating pizza as I sit here and type. B)

I don't think you're any different than anyone else. We all are drawn to what's working for people in similar situations.

I'm always interested in what is posted by you, or anyone else. I don't always click over to the page listed, sometimes I bookmark it to refer to it later. I like the way you break them down.....you can see by my few posts that I just copied the whole thing. :P:huh:

I had a very rough month after diagnosis. No exaggeration, lost so much inflammatory weight, I looked like a bag of bones, underneath i had been literally starving to death. I did start feeling noticeably better after a month of very strict control of my kitchen and home. What are you eating for breakfast and lunch? I ignored my doc and ate oats, yes they were gluten free, but some brands are at the higher end of gluten free. Lots of celics can eat Bob's Red Mill gluten-free oats, but not me. I can now eat them, but they have to be grown and processed according to the "purity protocol" methods. I mail order them, Montana Gluten-Free brand. A food and symptoms and activities log can be helpful in tracking down issues. You might be totally aware, but I have to mention about the risk of airborne gluten. As the doc that diagnosed me warned . . Remember eyes, ears, nose, and mouth all lead to your stomach and intestines.  Are you getting any cross contamination? Airborne gluten? Any pets eating gluten (they eat it, lick themselves, you pet them...)? Any house remodeling? We live in an older home, always fixing something. I've gotten glutened from the dust from cutting into plaster walls, possibly also plywood (glues). The suggestions by many here on vitamin supplements also really helped me. I had some lingering allergies and asthma, which are now 99% gone. I was taking Albuterol inhaler every hour just to breathe, but thiamine in form of benfotiamine kicked that down to 1-2 times a day within a few days of starting it. Also, since cutting out inflammatory seed oils (canola, sunflower, grapeseed, etc) and cooking with real olive oil, avocado oil, ghee, and coconut oil, I have noticed even greater improvement overall and haven't used the inhaler in months! It takes time to weed out everything in your life that contains gluten, and it takes awhile to heal and rebuild your health. At first it's mentally exhausting, overwhelming, even obsessive, but it gets better and second nature.

Hi,  I care for my seven year old daughter with Celiac. After watching her for months, I have figured out that she has problem with two kinds of fats- animal fat and cooking oils. It basically makes her intestine sore enough that she feels spasms when she is upset. It only happens on days when she has eaten more fat than her usual every day diet. (Her usual diet has chia seeds, flaxseeds, and avocado/ pumpkin seeds for fat and an occasional chicken breast.) I stopped using cooking oils last year, and when I reintroduced eggs and dairy, both of which I had held off for a few months thinking it was an issue of the protein like some Celiac patients habe mentioned to be the case, she has reacted in the same fashion as she does with excess fats. So now I wonder if her reaction to dairy and eggs is not really because of protein but fat.   I don't really have a question, just wondering if anyone finds this familiar and if it gets better with time.  Thank you.

Hello, My name is Chanda and you are not the only one that gose through the same things. I have found that what's easiest for me is finding a few meals each week that last. I have such severe reactions to gluten that it shuts my entire body down. I struggle everyday with i can't eat enough it feels like, when I eat more I lose more weight. Make sure that you look at medication, vitamins and shampoo and conditioner also. They have different things that are less expensive at Walmart.

Thank you so much! I saw some tips around the forum to make a food diary and now that I know that the community also struggles with corn, egg and soy, the puzzle pieces came together! Just yesterday I tried eating eggs and yes, he’s guilty and charged. Those there are my 3 combo nausea troublemakers. I’m going to adjust my diet ☺️ Also thank you for the information about MCAS! I’m from South America and little it’s talked about it in here. It’s honestly such a game changer now for treatment and recovery. I know I’m free from SIBO and Candida since I’ve been tested for it, but I’m still going to make a endoscopy to test for H. Pylori and Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). Thank you again!! Have a blessed weekend 🤍

Yes, I, too, have osteoporosis from years of malabsorption, too.  Thiamine and magnesium are what keep the calcium in place in the bones.  If one is low in magnesium, boron, selenium, zinc, copper, and other trace minerals, ones bone heath can suffer.  We need more than just calcium and Vitamin D for strong bones.  Riboflavin B 2, Folate B 9 and Pyridoxine B 6 also contribute to bone formation and strength.   Have you had your thyroid checked?  The thyroid is important to bone health as well.  The thyroid uses lots of thiamine, so a poorly functioning thyroid will affect bone heath.
