Welcome, Borst!

I read your history ... since you know about Humaworm, I'm guessing you've been reading here for a while. :)

I don't think your GI will react favorably to the Humaworm .... it's pretty alternative .... plus it's herbal.

I had that same unexplained weight loss. No one could tell me why. It was 15 pounds, just like you mentioned. If you've been reading along, then you already know I ended up having quite a large tapeworm.

With the mucus in the stool that you describe, I'd give it a try. Plus, parasites can cause hemorrhoids, which can cause the bleeding.

Interesting article on tapeworm infestation by Quest Diagnostics. Open Original Shared Link

The article says that one in one hundred people in the US have tapeworms! :o I actually can believe it now, but a month ago I would not have!

dlp252 Apprentice

Hi Borst, welcome! I haven't read your story yet...I'll have to do that tomorrow from work, but just wanted to say welcomeQ!

Andrea - I looked at my WF and they don't have it. I did look up a location and there is a healthfood store within walking distance of my work, but I think at the time I decided I didn't need it, lol. I've been making my own coconut ice cream. I have a little single serve ice cream maker, and I've been putting in coconut milk, a little agave nectar and a few little walnuts. The weather has turned too cold to eat it now though.

Julie - I've heard that parsley is good for a lot of things, but I can't do the fresh parsley...it spoils too quickly, so basically if I buy fresh, I can only eat it one day out of the week, lol.

Sorry for being so negative, but this has been a comparatively bad few days.

Like everyone has said, don't worry about it...we've all been there and we understand!

Sarah - I also use egg white powder. I buy mine at WF and the brand is Deb El. It comes in a canister and the only ingredient is pasteurized egg whites. I haven't seen Now brand, but I'm going to look for it. The Deb El isn't cheap, lol. I used mine in smoothies with a little frozen peaches and a little nut butter back when I was eating nut butters, lol.

Kassandra - I have to say that the thing that terrified me the most when I found out I had lyme and metals issues was that I might have to have a PICC line inserted at some point. Fortunately for me, I don't think it will come to that. I feel for you! I tend to get that pass out feeling when I have blood drawn. :( The lights actually start to go out, but I never actually lose conciousness.

Jin - I can't tell you how many times I've done the same thing...something directly in front of me, and I can't find it, lol.

I like your idea about getting back at my friend! Perfect, lol.

Yeah, I think I was taking too much 5-HTP...I think with my imbalances, it was causing it to be MORE off balance. The neurotransmitter test really helped get the right amounts of the right stuff.

You know, my lack of smell has NEVER dampened my appetite, lol. I can still eat tons of food.

Andrea,

I have to fast because they don't want me to throw up in the procedure. The only problem is that they are doing it at 2 in the afternoon and I will be reallllllly weak by that point without food. And yes, it's on Tuesday! I have to find someone to take me though, because my mom may be working, and they won't let me take myself! <_<

Donna,

I actually have lost consciousness while having blood drawn. They had to walk me from the chair to the table...I don't remember a thing! It was REALLY SCARY! I woke up to about 9 nurses and 3 doctors in my room! AHH! That is my worry, but at least I'll already be laying down...lol!

Borst,

Welcome! I haven't read your story, but some people with celiac (again, I don't know if you have it or just have gluten intolerance) take a few months to heal.

Jin,

I did not sleep well at all last night. I took an advil PM at about 10, at 2 I was still staring at the ceiling. I am not taking naps during the day either, that's why it's so weird. I'm sure it's Lyme related.

Congrats on the weight loss (if you wanted to...). And that's great that you don't crave chocolate!!! WO-HOOO!

I didn't know you know Spanish! Are you good at it? I may take you up on that offer...if I had questions, would PM's be the best way to hear from you?! Again, thanks!

Everyone,

My mom and I went to Target to get holiday decorations and I got a Christmas tree that is about 8 inches tall! I am going to decorate it and I'll post pictures!!! YAY! That's about all I can handle...lol!

Carla, I can't get your link to work, it links to the lyme disease thread

Welcome borst :)

Kass, I have a little Target tree too! I got it a couple years ago, it's so cute AND the best part is it's not too much to mangae to decorate. Have fun decorating yours and I look forward to seeing the pictures (hopefully it will get your mind off that other thing  )

There is estrogen in the water?! WTH? No wonder so many people have hormone problems! I cannot believe this! Why would they put it in there? It makes no sense.

Jin, WE are putting it there. The following is not for the faint of heart.....BUT it's in our urine (naturally in women) and in higher concentrations in women who are taking birth control pills or hormone therapy. And antidepressants, and other drugs, are in the urine of the people taking them.

Here is a good informative link:

This is happening all over the world not just regionally, you can google estrogen in water and studies will come up for allover the U.S., Cananda, Europe.......

Kinda scary!

I remember you telling me you spoke some Spanish, but I never thought about asking you for help! Thanks for the

offer!!

Julie,

I will totally post pictures of my little tree! I finished it, but I want to take pics of it and the way I decorated my nightstand! It's so cute!

Everyone,

I am finally starting to get into the holiday spirit. I am not ready for Hannukah at all this yea, but that's okay. I was going to go to a family party (it's a Mexican themed Hannukah party...how's that for a combo?!!! :P:lol:) but I am not ready, so I will wait for Christmas to celebrate. Also, I found out my cousin whom I am really close to is flying in from Portland for Xmas!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sarah,

The name of the powder is "now foods egg white protein powder." We bought it at a local health food store because it is the only one I could find that didn't have soy lecithin, etc. in it. I don't know if you can get it online, but if need be, I can always get some for you and ship it to you. Let me know! :)

Ugh...MUST GET SLEEP! I took an advil PM 4 hours ago...so much for that!

Kassandra

Kassandra, thanks! I'll start looking for it tomorrow.

Dear Sarah,

Baking cupcakes at 3:30am sounds like something I would do! I often cook at odd hours since I am up and need food. Also, this prevents cc because my parents are in bed. I do not trust them! They finger everything, and they do not pay attention when they eat.

I had asthma more when I was younger, but still get a little trouble. Smoke is bad for it. Do you use an inhaler? I do not need one now. I used to need it whenever I did exercise.

You mentioned Susie. Have you seen her lately? Say hi for us all, would you? We miss our DingoGirl! She has been missing for quite some time! I know she is on the Silly Thread, but she never pops in here anymore!

There was no way of knowing that the formula you gave your son at the time was not good for him. I spit up all of the formulas, too. My parents had me on ProSobee, and all of those. Ones with iron really bothered me. Nothing set well, and I ended up on 2 percent milk. I was fine for a while after that.

Jin, I like to bake late at night because there's no kids (including the 6 ft tall one!) under my feet! When I was little, I on was asthma medication, but it was pills that Mom had to crush up and put in applesauce. I don't recall using an inhaler. Yup, Susie Q's usually around in the Silly thread- you should stop back in! ProSobee was the formula Luke was on, as well.

So, if you get a candida infection/breakout in one area of the body, do you have throughout your whole body? I'm trying to figure out if it's likely she'll still be having problems from candida when she is done with the swish and swallow rx.

That tupperware in the back of the fridge that no one remembers what's in it?

Sarah,

Wow, it sounds like your Mother has a huge candida explosion. :( I can't imagine how, after being healthy all your life, suddenly needing to pay a lot of attention to something you've just taken for granted. You're a wonderful daughter (and mommy!). :)

Why, thank you!!!

And yes, it's on Tuesday! I have to find someone to take me though, because my mom may be working, and they won't let me take myself! <_<

Kassandra- maybe your brother could take you? How strict is the fast? If you're allowed to do clear liquids, I'm pretty sure Jell-o is allowable... I don't know if you're able to eat that.

confusedks Enthusiast

Sarah,

My brother doesn't drive!!!! He is almost 20!!! :o And we don't really talk without fighting...lol!!! My grandma is going to take me though.

The Protein Powder I got was only $16, which is pretty cheap really. It would last quite a while...I don't really use it anymore, but it would last a long time.

It is a clear diet fast, but no jell-o...only water and broth!!!! I don't think I'll bother with broth because it's gross alone...I only like it with things, like my mom's homemade gluten free chicken noodle soup. ;)

Everyone,

Open Original Shared Link is the link to my newly Christmas decorated room! I think there is a pic of just my bed...you can see why I was so excited when I made it about 3 weeks ago...it's REALLY annoying to make! LOL!

Also, does anyone know what it means to be pooping bright red blood? My friend called me freaked out. I told her to go to the dr. obviously and she did 3 days ago and it's still happening. I told her that I think that is better than black stools because it means that there isn't a bleed inside of her...it just still doesn't sound good. Anyone have ideas? Her dr. ruled out hemorrhoids. She is going to the GI in a few days hopefully.

What I have always understood to be true is if you have a yeast infection showing up with thrush or vaginally for example, that it is already systemic <_< ...but that could be wrong....

Beef broth is an excellent blood builder. It actually tastes pretty good, and might keep you from passing out.

Yes, Susie Q frequents the Silly Yak thread. She gave up on trying to keep up with us OMGers :lol:

Great pics Kass, very F E S T I V E!!!!!

Ok, I lied. I don't have an 8" tree. For some reason when you first posted that I was like, yeah I have the same thing! I have a 3 ft tree. My brain is just not with it

I got it for $8 however so maybe that was what I was thinking :D

I do not know about the blood in the stool. If they ruled out hemorrhoids, that was my first thought  . Internal bleeding is usually black stool. She should definitely get to the Dr if it is still happening.

Cute tree! I can see why your bed would be pain.

Julie,

I thought your tree looked bigger than 8". I was beginning to think you were extremely talented to make an 8" tree look so big. :P $8 is a great price though!

dlp252 Apprentice

Kassandra - cute pictures!

I'm not sure about the blood either. I know that generally bright red is better than dark stools, and hemoroids would have been my first thought...maybe she has a little tear...she should probably definitely have it looked at again. The hemoroids might actually be internal, but I'm sure the doctor looked for that.

Julie - I got my little 3' trees from target too. I didn't pay $8 though, lol. I paid somewhere between $15 and $19 for them, but they are pre-lit, lol.

dlp252 Apprentice

Nope, lol. I think it's around $11 or $12, and I found it in the baking section of Whole Foods.

Cute room, Kassandra. :)

I don't know what the red blood would be from if it's not hemorrhoids. It's a good idea to get them checked out.

:lol::lol: Andrea :lol::lol:

I worked miracles, my 8" tree truned into 3ft

I got it on sale! It's not prelit however, but I just string my own lights on it. I thought it was too good of a price to pass up so I got two.

Donna, you probably got the better deal with the lights! Less work :P

Kass, does your friend have C? I had another thought that sometimes that can cause a tear in that area and thus the blood.

These are some other causes for blood in stool (other than hemorrhoids): colon polyps, ulcers, ulcerative colitis, fissures, intestinal infection with inflammation, crohns, diverticulitis, blood vessel abnormalities.

So it sounds like if she goes to a GI all these issues would bo looked into.

confusedks Enthusiast

Carla,

Thank you...my Uncle is an interior designer so he designed my room...it's ALL Pottery Barn stuff...lol! We joke it looks like it could be in their catalog...lol!!

Julie,

She said they thought it might have been an ulcer, but wouldn't she either be puking blood or having black stools? Hmm.. I guess the GI will give her more answers.

Andrea,

My tree was literally $.99! That is why I got it, I thought it was too cute not to get.

Everyone,

I have a Dentist appt. today...yuck! I am getting my teeth cleaned and we are going to talk about my lovely wisdom teeth being removed...ugh. I keep forgetting about it because it's December 3, at 2:00 and I keep reversing it and thinking it's at 3:00...so my mom keeps reminding me! LOL!!

I met with the new GI today.

1. Wants to do another endoscopy with biopsies. Thinks it might be a gi allergy/celiac/ibs or a combination of the above.

2. Re-testing the TtG levels

3. Seems like he is not a moron. (Agreed that rectal bleeding warrants a phone call back)

4. Suggested a low dose of immodium to try to slow down the bowels.

BEST part of the meeting was that he said "well the reason why the oral medication for the yeast infection isn't working is probably because you have an absorption problem."

I wanted to hug the man. (I have tried 2 different 1-dose over the counter drugs and 2 different 1-dose rx) in the past 3 days and still am not better-better.

confusedks Enthusiast

Kristina,

YAY! It sounds like you finally got some answers. I hope they are able to find something so you can get it fixed and get to the bottom of the problem.

Kassandra

melmak5 Contributor

Kassandra - thanks so much. It sounds like its going to take a while (a few weeks for the blood tests, endoscopy at the end of the month) but at least this guy didn't try to shove Benefiber down my throat and tell me its "all in my head"

Good luck at the dentist!

confusedks Enthusiast

Kristina,

Ugh...I hate the dentist! LOL...thanks! And, the lady who is supposed to clean teeth is gone today, so the dentist is going to do it...

It does sound like you have a pretty good plan of action.

Everyone,

I am getting really anxious about everything...the PICC line, LLMD appt. Iron IV's, etc. We are trying to figure out a way to keep the PICC line in until we go to the LLMD just to make sure that he does or doesn't want to do IV abx (because my oral abx allergy) and it wouldn't make sense to have one in and have it removed if we are just going to put it back in. My mom said a good way would be to say "let's leave it in just for a little bit to see if she is going to need more." I hope the hematologist goes for this...ugh!

In the middle of all of this, I can't seem to get ANY work done. It is so frustrating...I keep thinking I am just lazy, but I remember I am sick and don't feel well.

Also, has anyone done PT for just general body pain? It's getting worse and worse, I am barely able to walk because my shooting leg pain (which is now in both legs). I think I am going to ask the LLMD for a rx for PT just to help with the pain. It is so hard to deal with.

One day at a time Kassandra......one day at a time. It's a little easier to take that way.

I also hope the hematologist will leave the PICC line in.

Yes, you are sick and you can't expect to get all the stuff done that you want. Try to prioritize what needs to be done and do what you can. If that's nothing, then so be it. You'll have better days and worse days.

Expect to get nothing done, that way if you get anything done, you will feel a sense of accomplishment. When I was sick I didn't do anything .... if I felt okay, I'd do one thing ... two would wear me out.

I think PT is a good idea. I would exercise .... I lift weights ... it's always helped with the pain management.

This happened to me as well. What’s weirder is that within a couple hours of taking paxlovid it subsided. I thought maybe I got glutened but after reading your post not so sure.

Hi Tiffany. Thank you for writing your dituation and  circumstancesin such detail and so well writte, too. I particularly noticed what you wrote about brain for and feeling like your brain is swelling and I know from my own experiences that's how it feel and your brain really does swell and you get migraines.    Way back when I was in my 20s I read a book by 2 MD allergist and they described their patient who came in complaining that her brain, inside her cranium, was swelling  and it happened when she smelled a certain chemical she used in her home. She kept coming back and insisting her brain actually swelled in her head. The Drs couldn't explain this problem so they, with her permission, performed an operation where they made a small opening through her cranium, exposed her to the chemical then watched as she brain did swell into the opening. The DRs were amazed but then were able to advise her to avoid chemicals that made her brain swell. I remember that because I occasionally had brain fog then but it was not a serious problem. I also realized that I was becoming more sensitive to chemicals I used in my work in medical laboratories. By my mid forties the brain fog and chemicals forced me to leave my  profession and move to a rural area with little pollution. I did not have migraines. I was told a little later that I had a more porous blood brain barrier than other people. Chemicals in the air would go up into my sinused and leak through the blood brain barrier into my brain. We have 2 arteries  in our neck that carry blood with the nutrients and oxygen into the brain. To remove the fluids and used blood from the brain there are only capillaries and no large veins to carry it away so all those fluids ooze out much more slowly than they came in and since the small capillaries can't take care of extra fluid it results in swelling in the face, especially around the eyes. My blood flow into my brain is different from most other people as I have an arterial ischema, adefectiveartery on one side.   I have to go forward about 20 or more years when I learned that I had glaucoma, an eye problem that causes blindness and more years until I learned I had celiac disease.  The eye Dr described my glaucoma as a very slow loss of vision that I wouldn't  notice until had noticeable loss of sight.  I could have my eye pressure checked regularly or it would be best to have the cataracts removed from both eyes. I kept putting off the surgery then just overnight lost most of the vision in my left eye. I thought at the I had been exposed to some chemical and found out a little later the person who livedbehind me was using some chemicals to build kayaks in a shed behind my house. I did not realize the signifance  of this until I started having appointments with a Dr. in a new building. New buildings give me brain fog, loss of balance and other problems I know about this time I experienced visual disturbances very similar to those experienced by people with migraines. I looked further online and read that people with glaucoma can suffer rapid loss of sight if they have silent migraines (no headache). The remedy for migraines is to identify and avoid the triggers. I already know most of my triggers - aromatic chemicals, some cleaning materials, gasoline and exhaust and mold toxins. I am very careful about using cleaning agents using mostly borax and baking powder. Anything that has any fragrance or smell I avoid. There is one brand of dishwashing detergent that I can use and several brands of  scouring powder. I hope you find some of this helpful and useful. I have not seen any evidence that Celiac Disease is involved with migraines or glaucoma. Please come back if you have questions or if what I wrote doesn't make senseto you. We sometimes haveto learn by experience and finding out why we have some problems. Take care.       The report did not mention migraines.
    • Mari
Hi Jmartes71 That is so much like my story! You probably know where Laytonville is and that's where I was living just before my 60th birthday when the new Dr. suggested I could have Celiacs. I didn't go on a gluten challange diet before having the Celiac panel blood test drawn. The results came back as equivical as one antibody level was very high but another, tissue transaminasewas normal. Itdid show I was  allergic to cows milk and I think hot peppers. I immediately went gluten free but did not go in for an endoscopy. I found an online lab online that would do the test to show if I had a main celiac gene (enterolab.com). The report came back that I had inherited a main celiac gene, DQ8, from one parent and a D!6 from the other parent. That combination is knows to sym[tons of celiac worse than just inheriting one main celiac gene. With my version of celiac disease I was mostly constipated but after going gluten-free I would have diarrhea the few times I was glutened either by cross contamination or eating some food containing gluten. I have stayed gluten-free for almost 20 years now and knew within a few days that it was right for me although my recovery has been slow.   When I go to see a  medical provide and tell them I have celiacs they don't believe me. The same when I tell them that I carry a main celiac gene, the DQ8. It is only when I tell them that I get diarrhea after eating gluten that they realize that I might have celiac disease. Then they will order th Vitamin B12 and D3 that I need to monitor as my B12 levels can go down very fast if I'm not taking enough of it. Medical providers haven't been much help in my recovery. They are not well trained in this problem. I really hope this helps ypu. Take care.
