Omg...i Might Be On To Something

Recommended Posts

Borst,

I hope your appointment went well! What you should bring up depends a lot on the doctor and how receptive he/she is. Since you've been reading for a bit, I assume you asked about SBBO, etc. :) Please let us know how it went!

Kassandra,

Lovely tree! :D I just might have to get one of those myself. :P Apparently last year my Mom and sister decided that I would be in charge of putting the electric candles in the windows. Never happened.

Hopefully the LLMD will prescribe PT. I'm going to be suggesting it to mine next appointment, as well. Pain is so wearing. :(

Julie,

:o That's very disturbing about the estrogen.

Kristina,

Congratulations on the new GI! Sounds like a vast improvement on the old one. :) I hope they can find out what's going wrong soon!

Everyone,

Thanks. New developments in the aunt's lymie friend issue (this is so absurd ). Mom copied the email to me and it's rather disturbing how little this lady knows/is communicating about lyme, especially considering how much faith Mom's putting into her. I'd appreciate some advice on how to respond so some other things she said. I'm not sure if I should post it here, in the Lyme thread, or ask in PMs? :(

That depends on how comfortable you are with the idea of the whole world reading it. Either or all of the options you listed would be ok.

All I can say is "OMG!!!" That was the worst experience ever at the dentist! I have the worst headache, jaw ache and now throat ache. I remember why I hate going to the dentist! LOL!!! It was terrible.

I will try to get something done, I just am slowly getting worse and worse...this is awful. And pain is SO exhausting. :( I will ask the LLMD to write a script for PT...I thought about getting a gym membership, but if we can get PT more covered than it was over the summer, it would be a better idea. I really think that going to the gym alone would be a bad idea these days. I think I need someone who knows what they are doing. My Physical therapist specializes in back issues...he was really amazing.

I met with the new GI today.

This sounds excellent, Kristina. Hopefully you'll start to get some answers but at least he sounds like someone you may be able to trust to help and not harm you.

Also, has anyone done PT for just general body pain? It's getting worse and worse, I am barely able to walk because my shooting leg pain (which is now in both legs). I think I am going to ask the LLMD for a rx for PT just to help with the pain. It is so hard to deal with.

Kassandra

Sorry about the pain, can you take anything over the counter for it and still tolerate it? Are you still doing the epsom salt soaks?

With that much pain, it is best not to expect too much of yourself, like Carla said. I am so hoping that the LLMD will help you.

Did I miss something about the lyme test results?

Carla and Sherry,

No...unfortunately you didn't miss anything. I called that place again and they were already closed at 3.30!! But I guess the good news is that Igenex called and they wanted to know which Dr. would authorize the test and I told them I would be going to see an LLMD and I'm sure he would sign the papers. They already ran the Western Blot and they will release the results on the morning of my appt. with the LLMD because he will sign it for me!! :) So the day we get there we will get the results...that's a really good thing.

I am really angry at the medical group who we got the Lyme test through...they are just being annoying. I will call again and play dumb and ask "I wanted to make sure you have the right fax number because I didn't get anything on Friday like you said I would...?!" We'll see what they say.

Sherry,

I am still doing the Epsom salt baths daily, but they aren't really helping my pain...other than relaxing my never ending mind chatter...lol. Actually it just gives me a time to devote to pure mind chatter...not disruptions, LOL! I like them and will keep doing them, but I think I need PT.

I can't really take anything because the only thing that used to work was vicodin, but I think I had an allergic reaction to that at celiac camp over the summer. I guess I could try it again, but I am a little afraid.

Advil, Tylenol, etc. don't really do anything to touch the pain, because it's SHARP shooting pain.

Yay!!!! That is great news! So you'll find out about Igenex on the 14th right?

I got a call from hubby who is about 2 hours or so north being loaded. He told me that 20 miles of I-5 is closed due to the bad weather we've been having. Lots of rain, mudslides, flooding. A dike broke which is why 20 miles of the highway is closed. At this point they are saying it will be closed for 36 hours. Mitch is supposed to call back and see what I found out about him getting back down this direction. I don't know where his drops are tomorrow but I'm assuming in Oregon. At this point the only way for him to get down to SW Washington/Oregon is to go clear around on the eastern side of the Cascades and shoot over along the Columbia River. Needless to say he won't be home tonight.......that would be about an 8 hour drive, maybe more. He's up there with another driver so they can stick together anyway.

Humaworm arrived today. Guess I'll wait and start it over the weekend... B)

I have a question about Chlorella. I started taking it Friday. I started just one capsule, because I've read to start slow. I should work up to 3. Yesterday my neck started hurting sooo bad. It's really stiff and sore. My neck and shoulder muscles are normally tight. But, this is to the extreme. Could this be detoxing from the Chlorella? Would that mean the toxins are not being released, but just stirred around maybe? I'm gonna take a bath with dead sea salts, epsom salts and some essetial oils to see if it helps.

The chlorella I bought from the store didn't get along with me but the King Chlorella I do fine with.

If you aren't taking enough I think it can cause problems but Rachel knows more about this than I do.

That's what I thought, too.

Andrea, fun having a traveling hubby in the winter, isn't it? Adam's on the road this week, too. :( Hang in there, he'll be fine.

Well Mitch is settled into a hotel up north. I won't know until tomorrow late morning whether he took off to go the eastern washington route or not. He said if I don't hear from him that he's on the road. I-5 is supposed to be under about 5 or more feet of water tomorrow when the river crests. This is the worst flooding for many of the rivers in Western Washington. At least we still have power.......

I'm certainly hoping he won't have to stay up there for 3 or more days. He doesn't get paid if he's not driving.

Andrea,

I hope all works out well for Mitch, and I hope he is able to get driving soon.

Everyone,

Well, tomorrow is the BIG PICC LINE DAY!!! I am nervous, but not too bad. I will bring my iPod and ask if I can put that in instead of listening to the noises in the room...I want to be able to distract myself the best I can.

I will be able to check in before the actual insertion since the blood draw is at 10, then the line goes in at 2. I will check in and let everyone know how everything goes.

Also, nobody told me Valerian root smells awful!!:lol:

Andrea, ditto!

Kassandra, good luck! If they'll let you do the iPod, I think that's a great idea. Try to stay as relaxed as possible.

Yup, Valerian is the stinkiest supplement I've ever tired!

lol, I thought I was just being a wuss, but yeah I agree- Valerian is hideous!

Also, make sure to give the nurses/techs/whoever a heads up that you've been known to pass out from fasting. And be vocal if you're getting faint or dizzy. Keep them informed.

I think I'm glad I don't have to take valerian root.

Andrea,

Hopefully hubby will be back on the road soon. The weather's awful out here on the east coast too. Had a wind storm come through and have had branches and trees going down like crazy. At least hubby managed to avoid getting stuck on a double shift - he works for the local utility company.

Kassandra,

Good luck today! Dentists, ugh! Such a cute tree and your room is adorable! I'm not even remotely holiday-like right now. Maybe if I find a spot for the "goth"-mas tree and get that put up it'll help. Its only 2 feet tall, but its something. Nothing says the holidays like purple lights, skull ornaments and bat garland. :D

Birdy,

Thanks for the info on the ionic foot baths. A couple of the chiros around here have them and I think it might be a good thing. I'm already supplementing with just about everything under the sun, so not too worried about a little mineral loss.

Jin,

Yeah, my body is really screwy right now. *sigh* Working on it. I've already had 3 biopsies on the largest nodule in my thyroid. 2 were iffy and one was benign. Right now, I'm working on researching ways to heal this thing without having to resort to surgery.

Its possible that your low iron screwed up your thyroid. Iron is essential for the conversion and utilization of thyroid hormones. Bvits are essential as well. Did you get the bad gas when you started taking the iron supplements as well? Its happened to me and I'm thinking since bacteria loves iron, maybe the iron is feeding the dysbiosis and making it worse?

Mammograms... ugh! Have had more than my share of them. Went to get a baseline one done 2 years ago and they found something but couldn't figure out what it was. Had to go in 2 more times for even more boob squishing (and 14 more images) and they finally ended up having to do an ultrasound. Turned out it was just cysts. Guess nothing has changed since they didn't call me about the one I had earlier this year. Really need to write myself a note and get copies of the imaging and the radiologist reports for all this.

Borst,

Hi! *waving* Nice to meet you! :)

Everyone,

Well, today's the day I take a chunk out of Dr Doofus (the ENT). I just KNOW he's going to try to talk me into getting half my thyroid removed. I want to give myself 6 more months before making that kind of decision about it. The iodine treament I'm on seems to be slowly shrinking the nodule, even though I've only been on it since August. Its gone down 7mm, which is a great thing! Not enough, but I'll take it.

I'm also doing a low fat and no-salt diet today. Blew off the blood testing I was supposed to have last week, so I'm going to get that done tomorrow. Also having the abdominal u/s done tomorrow to check for gallbladder problems. Of course, since seeing the doc about this, my symptoms have been minimal.

There's someone on another board telling me that I MUST do the selective carbohydrate diet, along with the biofilm carbohydrate diet. While I'm looking into these, they don't sound a whole lot different than a standard candida diet. I'm thinking that it might indeed help with the dysbiosis and some of the intolerances, but I'm not sure it'll be the miracle that this person's making it out to be. And they're also saying the iodine protocol I'm on is possibly causing the problems in my thyroid. Ummm... no. My thyroid was funky before starting on the iodine. Don't really know what to make of all this. If nothing else, researching these diets is something to occupy my mind between drs appts.

Oh yeah! And hubby's finally starting to "get it" when it comes to gluten intolerance, cross contamination, all that. He's restricted himself to one counter in the kitchen whenever he's making a sandwich. He's also begun to be protective of me when it comes to where we eat out. Yay!

I forgot. Smells like stinky gym shoes.

Carla,

Kassandra

CDC IgG Positive. I believe there were 8 positive bands.
