Does anyone know? If I am grilling veggie burgers with gluten (for family members), does the gluten burn off, so the next time I use the grill it's safe for me?

You really need to scrub the grill well after. Or maybe you could just cook on half of the grill and keep the other side strictly gluten-free.

No, it won't burn off. You could clean the grill very well before grilling your food, or use foil.

I just bought new "grills" for my grill this week!!

Another question though... so I replaced the metal bars that the food sets on. In the bottom of the grill is the drippings from gluten and dairy containing items. Do I need to worry about those drippings heating up, becoming airborne and contaminating food..????

I don't look forward to scrubbing that thing out but I'll do it if I need to!

we grilled at someone else's house and just put aluminum foil on the grill so my food wouldn't touch the grill. Our grill at home is gluten free.

Once you've burned something with glutrn to a crisp, the structure of the gluten is in fact destroyed. I'd scrub the grill and use it but after that it's really easy just to cook yummy gluten-free stuff on it..

My family uses the big, glutenous grill, I use the small, gluten-free grill. Problem solved.

      Maybe you have a low  intolerance to Wheat.   Rye, Barley and Malt are the gluten in Celiac disease.  It has always been stated Wheat and Gluten, not just a Wheat intolerance.  Barley will keep me in bed for (2) weeks.  Gut, Migrains, Brain fog, Diahrea.  It is miserable.  And when I was a toddler the doctor would give me a malt medicine because I always had Anemia and did not grow.  Boy was he off.  But at that time the US didn't know anyone about Celiac.  This was the 1940s and 50s.  I had my first episode at 9 months and did not get a diagnosis until I was 50.  My immune system was so shot before being diagnoised, so now I live with the consequences of it. I was so upset when Manufacturers didn't want to label their products so they added barley to the product.  It was mostly the cereal industry.  3 of my favorite cereals were excluded because of this. Malt gives me a bad Gut reaction.
