Alexia Fries

Last weekend I bought a bag of Alexia Yukon Gold Fries. The bag was marked 'gluten free' and I did not notice until I went to use them yesterday that there is a "may be made on machinery shared with nuts and wheat" warning. The "wheat" warning does not appear on their website, just on the package--is this something new? This was the first time I have bought them, and now I'm afraid to eat them. Has anyone had any experience/problems with them?

Hmmm...I eat those fries all the time, and I have never seen that warning before. I'm assuming it's because of the new label laws. That being said, I trust this company a lot. I eat the fries about once a week, and I have never had a problem with them. I will continue to eat them, too, even with the new label on them. Hopefully, you won't have a problem with them, either. (I make some yummy cheese fries with these, so I would hate to give these up!)

Thanks! That makes me feel better. I have only read good things about them here, and was a bit shocked to see the warning on the bag. Must be the new packaging making it to the stores. Thanks again :)

I also haven't had a problem with them. I think it's because they may share their lines, if production warrants, but they do have fairly strict cleaning requirements. :-)

We have never had a problem with them.

I love them too! Never had a problem. I've also never seen the wheat warning though.

We have never had a problem with them either. I did notice the last time I was at the store, though, that some bags (different varieties) had that warning and some didn't. I get the olive oil and sea salt ones or the julienne ones.

Can you buy these fries in Canada?

KarenCM Rookie

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
