I was wanting to find out if anybody had tried any of these food-tek products. They look interesting. They are mixes that you mix up and then cook in the microwave. Some look pretty wierd, but some look ok to try out. I'm curious about the taste.............soooooo fill me in if you have tried them!!

Woah I was just gonna start this same thread. I don't think I would try it myself but the concept is kinda intriguing...

Well don't be mad at me if you don't like them, but I think they're sooooo good!! The bread is nice and spongey like regular (gluten) bread! I really recommend the cake too. Yum yum! I too was skeptical, but it's GOOD! :P

I have tried the choco cake and the brownies...let me tell you, when ur sweet tooth kicks in, these are the best things.... Pop them in the microwave for a minute and POOF they are done! They are really convienent because I keep a bag at my bf house, and when i get that craving, it makes both of our lives easier... But i do not recomment the sugar cookies...blah.

You don't know what you are missing if you don't place an order. All the cakes, bread and cornbread are awesome! My kids love them and they are so quick and easy. I can't say enough good things about them. Actually saw them do a demo, by one of the owners, at a support group meeting and tasted first hand and have been hooked ever since.

I was thinking that they would be good for those "cravings" so you guys have totally convinced me for that and since everybody says they are good I am going to have to try to get ahold of some :) Thanks!

I had no clue those even existed. I know what I am adding to my shopping list this week.

Anyone have to order online (there isn't a store that carries them here) what's the turn around?

they had a booth at the canadian celiac convention, and they had two dairy-free choices... one they were making (it was the cornbread). it was okay, but frankly, homemade cornbread is SO much better.

I got my food-tek food in the mail today. I was SOOO excited. I baked myself a chocolate cake and frosted it with yummy chocolate frosting. It was very good! I'm impressed.

I got to looking at their website today and they are the folks who make the stuff that bakes in easy bake ovens for kids. So I wrote to the man that I had written to before and asked if he has considered making a gluten free mix for the easy bake ovens. I'm excited to see what he has to say back.

Wouldn't that be totally awesome if your kiddoes with celiac could have an easy bake oven too!! I know that was one of my favorite toys when I was a kid!

I decided to try out the white bread mix. I added water, mixed until lumps were gone and poured the batter into the two cute little bread shaped molds. :P Microwaved until it was done.

Then I decided that I would make french toast out of this bread. It turned out super!! Mixed an egg with some milk and cinnamon and fryed in a pan. YUM!! I'll save the leftovers to warm in the toaster oven for breakfast tomorrow morning.

I have had fun making these little mixes today!!

Jessica,

Yay! I'm glad you enjoyed them as much as I did! I always hesitate to "recommend" gluten-free products, as I think my definition of "tastes good" has changed the longer I've been gluten-free!!!

EASY BAKE OVEN KITS ARE COMING

I got this e-mail from Food-Tek today...........how exciting!!

Hi Jessica:

I've been reading your posts to the group and to Celiac.com. It's nice to know we have another fan!

We have developed and manufactured items for Easy-Bake (and a number of other "food-toys") for over 15 years. Currently, we putting the finishing touches on a line we're calling "Quick-Bake Kids" - gluten-free mixes formulated and packaged for use in an Easy-Bake/toy oven. We'll be rolling out cookie, cake, and brownie mixes in the next 4-6 weeks.

Stay tuned, and thanks again for your enthusiasm!

Regards,

Victor Davila

So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

I've noticed with my age and menopause my smell for bread gives me severe migraines and I know this. Its alarming that there are all these fabulous bakeries, sandwich places pizza places popping up in confined areas.Just the other day I suffered a migraine after I got done with my mri when a guy with a brown paper bag walk in front of me and I smelled that fresh dough bread with tuna, I got a migraine when we got home.I hate im that sensitive. Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.
