I've never seen an armadillo in the wild!!! Where did you see it?? I'm thinking we dont have those here in Ca....at least I dont think so.

Hey:

I was asleep on the outskirts of town and couldn't find anyone!:angry::angry:

I did see plenty of armadillos when I lived in Texas-- but heck, that's where they have their World Headquarters.

Sometimes guys seem to be more wild than actual wild animals. At least I know one of my brothers are.... he moves more than the most fidgety animal, moves faster than a cheetah, and talks more than a bird....how much more wild can one get???

The purple glittery bats help with cross-pollenating the food stuff in the garden by flapping their wings.

They are that color because Susie is not real fond of bats and doesn't want them in her hair and I think Chelsea wanted them made them that color so they would be obvious. They are trained to stay away from Susie.

Mitch comment: In actuality, they were imported by Meredith when she discovered it was a result of a special mating season between the red bats and the blue bats. During transport on the high seas the high humidity caused such a stickiness on their bodies. Also, the glittering waters of the pristine ocean near R-ville paradise clung to them, therefore, the bats retained the glitter.

Could not have explained it better myself

It was too cool, but sad. We were very close to Hilton Head, SC. The development is unbelieveable, the little armidillo (I don't know how to spell it), was about the size of a very large cat and was in the parking lot and there was alot of new ground breaking around his original habitat. I never thought that they would be indiginous to South Carolina, but he sure was there. Kinda cool, but sad.......development is encroaching on wildlife everywhere that developers can make a buck.

Glad to see Rachelville making a new start...........perhaps I can keep up with it, probly so, maybe probly not. I will try to check in when I can. Will Rachelville have spell check? OH, yeah, I am Senator, I can do SOMETHING,...........legislation as stated " I submit a bill that all residence of Rachelville be totaly exempt from any duress, ill inner feelings or concerns about posting any misspelled posts to others, who reside or are visiting entities of Rachelville. A Vote is Called............ Ms Mayor how do you speak?

Got to be the bad buttock tomorrow. Wish I had a job that everyone kisses it. <_<

You know Momma Goose that I am a dingbat at times (really much of the time). I talked to Lynne this past week and said I was so concerned as I had not seen you on the forum for some time. She then told me who you now were. Boy, I will probably find out you have been Momma Goose for a couple of months and I just noticed you were missing for only a couple of weeks. I still have the wedding on my desktop and when I get some more needed energy, I want to go over which one is you. Take care and so glad you are here and have not run away. Hugs.

And thanks for explaining the bats to me.

red bats + blue bats = purple glittery bats

I love it

Oh...and I needed to mention that the red bats are the males, the blue bats are the females....that's because the males are brighter in color and the females are protected from harm because of the darker color. (Mitch comment)

Oh yeah, paradise R-ville has an elaborate five thousand acre glittery horse farm, so not only do the bats control the mosquito population, they also control the fly population so that the horses don't have to swish their tails. These horses come in a variety of colors and are available for paradise R-ville trail rides. (see the Social Director-Carla and Circle R owner-Andrea for more details about the farm).

lol Now I hope that those bats are quick with eating all those mosquitoes and flies  . If R-ville is going to be the perfect little town than those species will have to disappear so fast that nobody even saw them. Bat's eat quickly, right?

I vote for the bill too. Then I'll be able to quit pulling out the dictionary

Bats are quick, good eaters and will have no problem keeping those populations under control. :P

You B girls are a hoot

Hi Tavi!!

I approve the bill too, as Governor (do Governors get to do that?)

morganb Newbie

Well Mom went to her room before I could even make it to mine. I'm tired though, so the brat will be attending her sleeping festival in the comfort of her own bed. Good night my fellow Rachelville-ians and sleep tight (if you haven't drank too much coffee yet ;) )

Now, now, let's not be perverting the bats....

They evolved to be purple and glittery so that they would distract their predators and so that Susan wouldn't be afraid of them. Both males and females are glittery and purple...You can tell the difference between the two because the females have comical large red lips :P

One bat can eat up to 3,000 mosquitoes a night...

What would you like to do?

Please refer to page 1 post for our town list, rules/application and vocab.

Also, your name would be much appreciated if you want to share, otherwise I'll use swittenauer.

My name is Susan. I am an Accountant & an Assistant Food Service Director for 41 schools. Oh, I also drag race with my husband. Strange combo, huh? I'll let you decide then what I should be in this town. Ha!

Oh, and yes I got caught up in all those pages. I skimmed through though. I don't know how I would ever have enough time to read it all.

AndreaB Contributor

Susan,

Wow, drag racing....sounds too fast for me. :P Did Go Cart for the kidlets in Rachelville and any adults that enjoy that. We can have a safer childrens course and a more challenging adult course if wanted.

Susan W: Treasurer; Food Quality Control; Go Cart track owner/supervisor (With mini golf on the side)

Edit to correct last initial. :P

You might consider asking for a referral to a RD (Registered Dietician) to help with food choices and planning a diet. Even apart from any gluten issues, you will likely find there are some foods you need to avoid because of the shorter bowel but you may also find that your system may make adjustments over time and that symptoms may improve.
    • Ello
I wish Dr’s would have these discussions with their patients. So frustrating but will continue to do research. Absolutely love this website. I will post any updates on my testing and results.  Thank you

Losing 12" of your small bowel is going to present challenges for you in nutritional uptake because you are losing a significant amount of nutritional absorption surface area. You will need to focus on consuming foods that are nutritionally dense and also probably look at some good supplements. If indeed you are having issues with gluten you will need to educate yourself as to how gluten is hidden in the food supply. There's more to it than just avoiding the major sources of gluten like bread and pasta. It is hidden in so many things you would never expect to find it in like canned tomato soup and soy sauce just to name a few. It can be in pills and medications.  Also, your "yellow diarrhea, constipation and bloating" though these are classic signs of a gluten disorder, could also be related to the post surgical shorter length of your small bowel causing incomplete processing/digestion of food.
    • Ello
Yes this information helps. I will continue to be pro active with this issues I am having. More testing to be done. Thank you so much for your response.

There are two gluten-related disorders that share many of the same symptoms but differ in nature from each other. One is known as celiac disease or "gluten intolerance". By nature, it is an autoimmune disorder, meaning the ingestion of gluten triggers the body to attack it's own tissues, specifically the lining of the small bowel. This attack causes inflammation and produces antibodies that can be detected in the blood by specific tests like the TTG-IGA test you had. Over time, if gluten is not withheld, this inflammation can cause severe damage to the lining of the small bowel and even result in nutrient deficiency related health issues since the small bowel lining is organ where all the nutrition found in our food is absorbed.  The other is NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity or just "gluten sensitivity") which we know less about and are unsure of the exact mechanism of action. It is not an autoimmune disorder and unlike celiac disease it does not damage the lining of the small bowel, though, like celiac disease, it can cause GI distress and it can also do other kinds of damage to the body. It is thought to be more common than celiac disease. Currently, we cannot test for NCGS. Celiac disease must first be ruled out to arrive at a diagnosis of NCGS. Both disorders require elimination of gluten from the diet.  Either of these disorders can find their onset at any stage of life. We know that celiac disease has a genetic component but the genes are inactive until awakened by some stress event. About 40% of the general population has the genetic potential to develop celiac disease but only about 1% develop active celiac disease. The incidence of NCGS is thought to be considerably higher. I hope this helps.
