Cool! I'm just starting up again...used to make earrings years ago and just decided to make bracelets...

I have made almost 60 in 2 weeks. :ph34r: Need bead intervention quickly.... :ph34r:

Good idea....I might have to splurge and get one for my birthday next month. My parents usually give me money. I'll be 40. :ph34r::o

I love the old fashioned ice cream makers but they are a lot of hastle. Everyone seems to swear by this Cuisinart model, Vincent, Patti, now Rachel. Sounds like it is very easy and quick to use- would be a good investment for sure.

Plus, you can control your ingredients going in.

Ooooooh....you will have to meet Donna then....she's into jewelery too. In fact I think she's made so many bracelets this past week we're gonna need a special room just to store them all! I think she should just give one to all the R-Ville residents. :D Then we will only need half of a room to store them all. :rolleyes:

Don't worry it won't happen again....that is except when I write delicious. I always spell delisious first. It sounds kind of like Odysseus and that just won't work in my book. So unless it were to be added to the vocabulary, then I'll continue to correct that.

That's the great thing! I have only found one frozen desert in the stores that I can eat--Sharon's sorbet (sweetened with sugar, not corn). By being able to use the Vance's, I can have something "creamy" once in a while.

Mitch just called, so I updated him. He said as long as we don't pull a Rachel and eat 40 cups...since it'll be my 40th b-day (the 15th of Sept).

The pastuerization of the milk products is what we don't like but we aren't comfortable with the raw milk either. We could make cashew ice cream too.

Maybe our bats will be even more unique than they already are and eat something else. Maybe minnows from the ocean since they like the water so much that they are even glittery from it.

heehe...our dog was about the same size as the armadillo [obviously!]....he just loved hunting them!

I make mostly angel pins....and sell them in the theatres here. I began my jewelry making business after having to retire on disability from teaching 12 yrs ago. I began with beaded necklaces and it evolved into a little bit of EVERYTHING. Now, to keep things simple, I only make the pins. I make beaded things when I have time.

Be careful...that's how I got sucked in, lol...just went to check out a bead store and came out with all kinds of stuff including some of the strechy nylon "wire" that only requires a knot to close...that's how I made nearly 60...only requires beads and the "wire". :lol:

I'm going to take a beading class in a couple of weeks to learn how to do the fancy clasps....crimp beads and all. Don't think that will slow me down much though... :ph34r:

If it makes you feel any better, we hardly have any mosquitos in Austin, we have the largest urban bat colony in North America living under a downtown bridge! That's 1.5 million bats eating 3,000 mosquitoes a night...

Makes your job easy :P

Especially since the purple glittery bats need extra mosquitos to be sparkly ;)

I'm totally spinached and pulling a Rachel all this week...

That's right kids, last week of the gluten challenge, biopsy is MONDAY!!! :D:o:ph34r:

You know what that means? Severe gluten overload to do as much damage in as little time as possible while eating things I want that I'll never be able to eat again!

I had a bagel for breakfast, pop tarts for a snack, and for lunch...4 slices of bread, a breadstick, french onion soup with crutons, and now I'm eating tiramisu! :ph34r:

My policy this week is to have gluten in hand at every moment!!! Gotta have an accurate biopsy!!! :blink:

Your poor tummy not to mention other parts. That makes my tummy hurt just reading it and I don't even have bad reactions to gluten. :ph34r::o

I'd say that I hope you feel well, but if you're celiac then it's obvious that you don't :( I hope all turns out correct though.

The thought of you having gluten in hand at every moment cracks me up, like that commercial for fiber supplements- where all throughout the day the women are eating apples, broccoli, carrots, from the minute they open their eyes in the morning until the minute they close their eyes at night because they gotta get their fiber in. Carrots are on the bedside tables, broccoli at the gym on the treadmill, apples driving the kids to work.....

That will be you Chelse, except with gluten filled foods. Gotta get that gluten in!

      oh that's interesting... it's hard to say for sure but it has *seemed* like oats might be causing me some vague issues in the past few months. It's odd that I never really connect specific symptoms to foods, it's more of an all over feeling of unwellness after  eating them.  If it happens a few times after eating the same foods- I cut back or avoid them. for this reason I avoid dairy and eggs.  So far this has worked well for me.  oh, I have some of Bob's Red Mill Mighty Tasty Hot cereal and I love it! it's hard to find but I will be looking for more.  for the next few weeks I'm going to be concentrating on whole fresh fruits and veggies and beans and nuts and seeds. I'll have to find out if grains are truly necessary in our diet. I buy brown rice pasta but only eat that maybe once a month at most. Never liked quinoa. And all the other exotic sounding grains seem to be time consuming to prepare. Something to look at later. I love beans and to me they provide the heft and calories that make me feel full for a lot longer than a big bowl of broccoli or other veggies. I can't even tolerate the plant milks right now.  I have reached out to the endo for guidance regarding calcium intake - she wants me to consume 1000mgs from food daily and I'm not able to get to more than 600mgs right now.  not supposed to use a supplement until after my next round of testing for hyperparathyroidism.   thanks again- you seem to know quite a bit about celiac.

      Welcome to the celiac.com community, @SilkieFairy! You could also have NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity) as opposed to celiac disease. They share many of the same symptoms, especially the GI ones. There is no test for NCGS. Celiac disease must first be ruled out.
