Weebles wobble, but they don't fall down..........can NEVER get THAT out of my head.

How about the theme to "MASH". Suicide is painless, it last through all the ages. Bad Bad!

or Bad Bad Leroy Brown, badest man in the who d.... town.

Had a brother named Reathel, gave him a good bottle of wine for a holiday with a card that said Unkl Weebles Wobbles, but He don't Fall Down.

Ok, now this cracks me up :D

Visa add some charge to my card, it was 27p (about 40c) but I have no other transacations that month on that card.

I forget what is was a currency transaction... some surcharge they added the followingg month.

it costs me about 50% more to post a cheque (standard rate) and about 20x more for a guaranteed delivery...

Today I get my bill ... 12 pounds for late payment .. total 12.27

yeah I realise its a contract and its still trivial money but are they serious...

I just find the whole thing rather funny!

Always send them 10 to 25c more than required. That cost them to notify you each month that you are over and sometimes they have to even refund it to you.

I've actually done this on purpose - just to annoy a particularly annoying company. :)

Religious Jokes for this weeekend (not intended to offend anyone)

Easter Joke:

Why shouldn't you tell an Easter Egg a joke? ? Because it might crack up!

And from kosherforpassover.com:

Moses was sitting in the Egyptian ghetto. Things were terrible. Pharaoh wouldn't even speak to him. The rest of the Israelites were mad at him and making the overseers even more irritable than usual, etc. He was about ready to give up.

Suddenly a booming, sonorous voice spoke from above:

"You, Moses, heed me ! I have good news, and bad news."

Moses was staggered. The voice continued:

"You, Moses, will lead the People of Israel from bondage. If Pharaoh refuses to release your bonds, I will smite Egypt with a rain of frogs"

"You, Moses, will lead the People of Israel to the Promised Land. If Pharaoh blocks your way, I will smite Egypt with a plague of Locust."

"You, Moses, will lead the People of Israel to freedom and safety. If Pharaoh's army pursues you, I will part the waters of the Red Sea to open your path to the Promised Land."

Moses was stunned. He stammered, "That's.... that's fantastic. I can't believe it! --- But what's the bad news?"

"You, Moses, must write the Environmental Impact Statement."

:P :P :P :P :P Poor Moses

And for me (Buddhist jokes are VERY hard to find):

QUESTION: Why can't the Buddha vacuum under the sofa?

ANSWER: Because he has no attachments.

..Sounds great Patti, are you having the boys over for a delicious dinner??

My 2 youngest are sitting in the garden having a 'chocolate picnic' and will probably be shortly very hyper-active due do the disgusting amount of sugar hitting their bloodstream!! ..but hey, it's only for one day.

Well now, today's the day Terry and I are giving up smoking  (yes, I am ashamed to admit my weakness)

....bracing myself for severe dark mood swings

Being as the kids are off school for another week I hope my patience will hold

We both gave up a couple of years ago, but it slowly crept back in......BUT!!...we are super determined this time.

It's gotta be done and somehow it seems daft that I spend so much time being careful what we eat and yet smoke lol!

I mean, here's me not eating gluten, dairy, or any trans fats, hanging out in health food shops and gym classes and yet smoking  ..the two just don't tally!!:lol:

Sooo, we are both 'patched up' and no turning back  ..I'm scared

I've bought myself a stack of crosswords and puzzles to keep me busy, plus loads to do in the garden planting seeds in the greenhouse.

Poor Terry has a list as long as your arm of DIY things to do around the house

TODAY I am a non smoker ;)

Congrats Nikki! :D I just know that you and Terry will be successful this time ;)

I smoked for about 8 years--I quit when I was pregnant because I was so nauseous I couldn't even think about food or cigarettes! I will say that even now I still get a "pull"--no more cravings--to light up now and again!

I think because you're doing it together, and have it planned out so well, you are really gonna do it this time. And look at all the things you are going to get done around the house! Win-win

I love the idea of a chocolate picnic! I hope they had fun. :D

Yes--I'm making Easter dinner here--the boys and a girlfriend will be here, of course. I'm making a rib roast, mashed potatoes, gravy, carrots, string beans, salad, tomato and mottzerella salad, and rolls. I made a gluten free lemon merangue pie and ordered a regular chocolate chip cake from the bakery.

What do you have planned? I hope your weather is cooperating--ours is sunny but cold.

Have a wonderful holiday my friend, and good luck with the cigs! :)

Good Morning sillies!! :)

Yesterday's face

A gloriously sunny day here in London and day 2 of 'giving up the fags'

NOTE:In the UK ''fags'' are slang for cigarettes.

If I say ''I'm dying for a fag'' it does not mean ''I'm dying for a gay man'' ;)

Well, yesterday wasn't as bad as I thought it might.....just a background thought of 'something's missing'.

However Terry is feeling the strain slightly more me thinks  ....had his head in a puzzle book for ages last night and did not speak for 4 hours!!

I know from past experience that the patches can stop you from sleeping properly so I took mine off at bedtime.

Terry didn't however - as he usually sleeps extremely deep (due to his depression meds I think) and had a fitful night full of weird dreams.

One of his dreams was he went to the pharmacy and they were selling shelves full of delicious (but ridiculously cheap) looking gluten-free pastries and cakes and buns and so he bought them all!!!!

I, too, am a secret smoker. It's those dang cloves, I keep a pack in my freezer, as some of you know. Used to be one pack a year, seriously, now I think I'm up to three packs a year. Very bad!

OMG - - "pig scabs" - - (page 2)

and there's Nikki's hybrid pig bat - - - Um, do tell us where you came up with that? Oh my gosh......reminds me of the time in Monterey - - - I had a guy over there doing some work, and he had a tiny, baby pig, about the size of the one in your photo, it was his pet......probably weighed about 7 or 8 pounds - - - well, the dogs were absolutely out of their dingo minds over said piglet - - chased and sniffed the poor thing all over the place - - I will have to find the photos and scan and put them up here - - -

the car wash incident - - - There was a very attractive man - - working on some construction there (he was a contractor or something like that, with a brand new Ford F series truck - - very bad-ass).....kept smiling at me, rather shyly - - - so I handed my phone number to a guy that worked there to give to the cute guy - - - and then sped off - - - terrified - - - and later I wondered if a) my handwriting was legible (quite often it is most assuredly not), and 2) if he gave my number to the correct person...... :o

:lol::lol::lol:

....well anywho, I"m too much of a chicken, if he DOES call, I won't even answer the phone

We (2 boys + me) were having a mini picnic in the garden with lots of left over sticky sweets and choccy from Easter and we invited the farm animal toys...(what!!..you don't do that?? )..BUT!! the halloween toys were mixed up with them.....thus my 12yr old invented the piggy bat

I don't know why, but it REALLY tickled me :lol::lol: (...I am quite mad... : :( )

My first dog was a white Staffordshire Bull Terrier ..and he always reminded me of a pig, snorting and snuffling with wee stumpy legs  (RIP Ollie)

Some interesting articles regarding the use of Zinc Carnosine to help heal gastric ulcers, gastritis and intestinal permeability. I would consult a medical professional about it's use. https://www.nature.com/articles/ncpgasthep0778 https://www.rupahealth.com/post/clinical-applications-of-zinc-carnosine---evidence-review https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7146259/ https://www.fallbrookmedicalcenter.com/zinc-l-carnosine-benefits-dosage-and-safety/

He is. Which makes everything even more difficult. I’m not a believer in “staying for the kids” but I have nowhere to go and it’s not just me, it’s me plus my babies. We live in a beautiful place, lots of land in the country and me and the kids love the place we’ve called home for their entire lives. But Im seeing that he’ll never change, that my kids deserve a happy healthy Momma, and that staying in this as is will be the early death of me. Then I look at the scars covering my entire body…this disease and the chronic stress I’ve been enduring for years that tell me I’m no longer beautiful and no one will ever look at me with interest again. I try self care, try to give myself grace so I can just start loving myself enough to gain strength but the slightest sparkle in my eye and skip in my step attracts his wrath and it all comes crashing ten fold. Life is just absolutely railing me from every single direction leaving me wanting to wave that white flag bc I don’t feel like there’s much hope no matter what happens.

Hi, I was recently diagnosed with Celiac and dermatitis herpetiformis after years of suffering without answers. I lost my mind. I lost my job. I lost so much time. I lost Me. Conventional doctors are opulent come near me and the one who did sat across the room, misdiagnosed me, pumped me full of steroids which collapsed my entire hip for 6 months. So without answers I began my holistic journey. Fast forward a couple of years and still struggling with a mysterious whole body itchy, crawling “skin hell”, perfect teeth now deteriorating, thick hair now thinning rapidly and no more than a day or 2 at most relief….An acquaintance opened up a functional medicine practice. Cash only, I found a way. Within a month tests clearly showing my off the charts gluten allergy/sensitivity as well as the depletion of vital nutrients due to leaky gut and intestinal damage. dermatitis herpetiformis was more than likely what I was experiencing with my skin. I was happy. I thought this is easy, eat healthy Whole Foods, follow the diet restrictions and I finally get to heal and feel confident and like myself again very soon! 😔 Supplements are very pricey but I got them and began my healing. Which leads to the other major issue: not working, stay at home Mom of young kids, entirely financially dependent on my man of 7 plus years. He’s never been supportive of anything I’ve ever done or been thru. He controls everything. I’m not given much money ever at a time and when he does leave money it’s only enough to possibly get gas. His excuse is that I’ll spend it on other things. So my “allowance” is inconsistent and has conditions. He withholds money from me as punishment for anything he wants. Since being diagnosed, he’s gained a new control tactic to use as punishment. He now is in control of when I get to eat. He asked for proof of my diagnosis and diet bc he said I made it up just to be able to eat expensive organic foods. Then after I sent him my file from my doctor he then said she wasn’t a real doctor. 😡. I go days upon days starving, sometimes breaking down and eating things I shouldn’t bc I’m so sick then I pay horribly while he gets annoyed and angry bc I’m not keeping up with all the duties I’m supposed to be doing. His abuse turns full on when I’m down and it’s in these desperate times when I need his support and care the most that I’m punished with silence, being starved, ignored, belittled. He will create more of a mess just bc I’m unable to get up and clean so that when I am better, I’m so overwhelmed with chores to catch up that the stress causes me to go right back into a flare from hell and the cycle repeats. I’m punished for being sick. I’m belittled for starving and asking for healthy clean water. I’m purposely left out of his life. He won’t even tell me he’s going to the grocery or to get dinner bc he doesn’t want me to ask him for anything. I have no one. I have nothing. Im not better. My supplements ran out and I desperately need Vitamin D3 and a methylated B complex at the very minimal just to function….he stares at me blankly…no, a slight smirk, no words. He’s happiest when im miserable and I am miserable.  this is so long and im condensing as much as I can but this situation is so complicated and disgusting. And it’s currently my life. The “IT” girl, the healthy, beautiful, perfect skin, perfect teeth, thick and curly locks for days, creative and talented IT girl….now I won’t even leave this house bc Im ashamed of what this has dont to my body, my skin. Im disgusted. The stress is keeping me from healing and I think he knows that and that’s why he continues to keep me in that state. He doesn’t want me confident or successful. He doesn’t want me healed and healthy bc then how would he put the blame of all his problems on me? This journey has been hell and I’ve been in Hell before. I’ve been killed by an ex, I’ve been raped, robbed, held hostage, abused beyond nightmares but the cruelty I’ve experienced from him bc of this disease is the coldest I’ve ever experienced. I’ve wanted to give up. Starving and in tears, desperate…I found a local food pantry in our small town so I reached out just saying I had Celiac and was on hard times. This woman is blessing me daily with prepared gluten free meals, donations, educational info, people who know this disease and how they manage life and the blessings just keep coming. But it’s overwhelming and I feel like I don’t deserve it at all. He just glared and I know he’s going to sabotage it somehow. I don’t even know what to do anymore. I’m so broken and just want peace and healing.

@Colleen H   I am just curious,  when you were tested for coeliac disease, did the doctors find out if you had any deficiencies? Sometimes muscle pain can be caused by certain deficiencies, for example, magnesium, vitamin D, calcium, and potassium.   Might be worth looking into having some more tests.  Pins and needles can be neuropathy, again caused by deficiencies, such as iron and B12,  which can be reversed if these deficiencies are addressed. In the UK where I live we are usually only tested for iron, B12 and vitamin D deficiencies at diagnosis.   I was very iron anemic and supplementation made a big difference.  B12 was low normal, but in other countries the UK's low normal would be considered a deficiency.  My vitamin D was low normal, and I've been supplementing ever since (when I remember to take it!) My pins and needles definitely started to improve when my known deficiencies were addressed.  My nutritionist also gave me a broad spectrum supplement which really helped, because I suspect I wasn't just deficient in what I mention above but in many other vitamins and minerals.  But a word of warning, don't take iron unless blood tests reveal you actually need it, and if you are taking it your levels must be regularly monitored because too much can make you ill.  (And if you are currently taking iron, that might actually be making your stomach sore - it did mine, so my GP changed my iron supplementation to a gentler form, ferrous gluconate). Lastly, have you been trying to take anything to lessen the pain in your gut?  I get a sore stomach periodically, usually when I've had too much rich food, or when I have had to take an aspirin or certain antibiotics, or after glutening.  When this happens, I take for just a few days a small daily dose of OTC omeprazole.  I also follow a reflux or gastritis diet. There are lots online but the common denominators to these diets is you need to cut out caffeine, alcohol, rich, spicy, acidic food etc and eat small regularly spaced meals.   When I get a sore stomach, I also find it helpful to drink lots of water.  I also find hot water with a few slices of ginger very soothing to sip, or camomile tea.  A wedge pillow at night is good for reflux. Also,  best not to eat a meal 2-3 hours before going to bed. If the stomach pain is getting worse, though, it would be wise to see the doctor again. I hope some of this helps. Cristiana
