Morning, All!!!

I lay abed last night, thinking about my hasty blanket statement on Woody. More interesting now as I've read everyone's take on him.

I must add a disclaimer....movies such as Manhattan, Purple Rose of Cairo, Radio Days and Zelig are wonderfully crafted, hilarious, even gripping, films. What I cannot appreciate with Allen is his odd, lengthy, neurotic monologues that sometimes happen. Not always, and when they aren't there, or better yet when Allen is not even IN the work, those are the films that I love. If any of you want to see a film that could well be our symbolic work for Sillyville, catch Zelig. Little known, but comic genius.

We ARE in fact going to Vegas at end of March for a wedding......ha ha ha ah!!!!!!!!!!!!! now settle down, all ye mad sillies, 'tis for some good friends of his....alas, young Jenn is coming with us!! and it will be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo much fun........this is a shocker - I have never been to Vegas........... can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, wonderful, Kissey2!! Should be mad fun! :)

we'd like a really good king-sized mattress, pleez, as Susie doesn't share space easily  and a cozy, old, adobe house. Can you all chip in? throw in some Berbers while you're at it.........

We have a king-size bed (Emporer Ptaum, I should hope you do, as well!), and the one problem you get into is this: sheets and bedspreads are, I'm not kidding, usually twice what queen stuff is ...do not know why, 'tis heinous. You need to shop endlessly for sales....it is a pain. However, we can both sprawl out quite nicely, and barely touch...and, on the odd occasion, this is desired.

yer windin' me up...................

No winding here! Random people are indeed featured in my frame gifts. Must get my sister or good buddy Heather on here some time to verify this for y'all.

And another major snow storm is forecast for Friday.

Whhhaaattt?? Did NOT hear of this....Gaaaahhhhh.....I was out THRICE shovelling what amounted to 20 cm of heavy snow yesterday. I will do no more. The team of shovellers will be back home and it's all them.

They are coming home today from the Walter Gretzky Hockey Tournament in Brantford. Sophie played very well...one game she had a shutout, and stopped 29 shots! This is a large number from teams this age. Good one, ma girl! :)

:lol: flolf  Em!!! You are too much!!!!!!

Tom!! WTH is flolf?! Freakin' Laughing Out Loud, Finally....?

(I'm out seeing a band again now tho so that says it all for my confidence in yet another Robert Duvall movie. Of all the dingoisms I've seen, this Robert Duvall crushiness is most confusing of all, and that's sayin' somethin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Yes, with me as well. Susie, really.....Robert Duvall?

Ok it's hrs later now and John & I have been doing an absinthe comparison test & . . ..this is cracking me up .. .he's suddenly taking GREAT offense to my av, tho it's now the 3rd time it's been mentioned.

 Hell, if he's offended by your unsolicited use of his image in a somewhat unflattering pose, you'd best not let him see Janet's version....:o

Tom, excellent news about Doreen. Get out and start shootin' hoops with her. :)

I must say, Ptaum, when I read that you're out seeing different bands every week, I feel a sudden pang of jealousy. Ah, to be able to just head out, sit in a lovely, intimate (or huge, and cacophanous) venue and let some terrific vocals wash over...

Maybe something to revisit in later life.... :)

yes, absolutely, in a bright, bilious green, or maybe a horrible peach coloUr

Like Sea Foam???? I can wear Sea Foam....now who wants to clash with me!!!

Must be careful. We've already had one unexpected incident involving liquids this past week. The dishwasher developed a leak which Jacquie found on the kitchen floor Tuesday morning. It has been fixed, but now freezing rain is expected tomorrow evening and lasting into Monday's morning commute. And another major snow storm is forecast for Friday. I'm doing a rare Sunday shift at the shop tomorrow, so I won't be lurking here and tempting the fates.

Better to be safe....and dishwasher leaks are never fun! I have heard the rumors of the snow storm too....

Em, I have heard the rumors of the snow storm from my mom and downstairs neighbor (who is traveling to Michigan tomorrow and will be back Thursday) but I cannot find it on a forecast yet....

So if anyone has any specifics let me know!! John will be delighted!

See you sillies later, John is taking me to breakfast....we had one of those bad days yesterday and were both not so nice to each other...even I a trip to Wegmans didnt cheer me up....SO we came home talked alot and are both feeling more lovey-dovey. More later

Forever Laughing Out Loud Flamboyantly??

Yes, with me as well. Susie, really.....Robert Duvall?

I like Robert Duvall . . . perhaps not as much as Susie . . . not in "that way" . . . but I do usually enjoy him as an actor.

 Hell, if he's offended by your unsolicited use of his image in a somewhat unflattering pose, you'd best not let h see Janet's version....:o

You can't even see his face . . . tell him to get over it or Emily will print it out the av and stick it in a frame at WalMart.

Morning sillieeeeeeeeeeez!!!!! what am I doing up? still quite tired.....slept fitfully...and OMG - at least three times now - this is most curious - I dream that I am living in the same horrific, gluten-brained personality/mind-prison that I carried with me for nearly my entire life. So strange - everything is the same - my reactions, my deep, horrible sadness, internal torture, confusion, and people's reactions TO me..........and I"m always sobbing and mired in TERRIBLE depression........

....and then I wake up. :)

Kissey is skiing wif his boy today, I've got the day to meself, what will I do? (going to Mommy's)

Not really sure exactly how many gay blokes Susie will be inviting .....but YES, LOTS OF POOFS!!!!!!!!!

 Yes, poofs galore, and WITH Janet's hats......dear gawd. Big, frilly, lacy hats, with ghastly fake flowers all over.....and lacy gloves to yer elbows......

'TIS MOTHER"S DAY IN ENGLAND, All!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Mother's Day Nicola!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

We have a king-size bed (Emporer Ptaum, I should hope you do, as well!), and the one problem you get into is this: sheets and bedspreads are, I'm not kidding, usually twice what queen stuff is ...do not know why, 'tis heinous. Yes. my preferred Sleep Shape is the letter L, body jack-knifed and legs kicked fully over to other side of the bed. Quite odd. Also the number 4 shape. Must have room for this, not sure how this will work, the Big Letter L w/ another human there. and how in HELL do people sleep on their backs? could lie awake for days if forced to fall asleep in this position......Susie is jealous of people who can do this. I AM the freaking Princess and the Pea.........harrumphhhfff! Soooooooooooooo many conditions must be met for sleep to occur...

King-sized sheets - gads. This is why I'm most thankful for Target, TJMaxx, and Marshall's - great deals. Just got the BEST and yummiest Hotel sheet set at TJ's on sale.....lush-us!

See you sillies later, John is taking me to breakfast....we had one of those bad days yesterday and were both not so nice to each other...even I a trip to Wegmans didnt cheer me up....SO we came home talked alot and are both feeling more lovey-dovey. More later

oh so glad you worked through this bad day, Amanda. Breakfast will be good. :)

You can't even see his face . . . tell him to get over it or Emily will print it out the av and stick it in a frame at WalMart.

 Such a BRILLIANT idea......I think Janet should email the photo to ALL of us, slightly enlarged, and then we can have quite the Absinthian Wormwood Poseur John campaign, in Walmarts everywhere........

My Robert Duvall crush........can't really explain it although it was mainly focused on the YOUNG Duvall......not so much the old guy, tho I still find him somehow incredibly appealing......it's wackl, I know.

freezing cold, sillies!!!!!!!!!! (oops - it's relative so - not that cold here really......sorry  )

Can the "maybe" bay-bee!!!

oooooWEEE the band was cookin' last night.

Rollicking & raucous, it was.

Better to be safe....and dishwasher leaks are never fun!

Oh lmao at an old memory. Long ago, Teresa was looking to do me a favor while I was out on an errand.

She couldn't find the dishwasher detergent, so I came home to basically an I Love Lucy episode in progress!!!!

She'd used the Dawn-type and the ever-increasing foam glacier combined w/ her look of omg-what-have-i-done fear & embarrassment launched me into such a laughing fit I could barely get out "you gotta lotta 'splainin' to do" & and it was only then she joined my rofl.

I like Robert Duvall . . . perhaps not as much as Susie . . . not in "that way" . . . but I do usually enjoy him as an actor.

No doubt a great actor, but it seems analogous to me saying I wanna do Ruth Gordon.

Gah!!! Yer KILLin me!!!!!!!

Happy Mothers Day Nikki!!!

Actually it is quite warm here today for PA standards in March that is....It must be high 40's. Breakfast was good. :)

Now I must do laundry and then do some Cancer work and bills with John and budgeting for our home hunt. Plus we are hoping to go to the casino later today.

Did we know this??? Kissey has a boy??? I think I remember most things, but I don't remember this. OK then . . . how old?

He has a 13-year-old son......very gifted in many areas and at one of our best schools, if not the best. No, I have not met him yet.........

OMG - would you sillies like to REAAAAAAALLY know how David and I met???????????????????

it was MATCH.COM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :lol::huh::blink::lol:

that's right......last July or August I was on Match for less than a week - paid for several months and DEMANDED my money back after I saw what in hell was out there. Highly discouraging, in this area........much better in metropolis's's's's - - Denver, Seattle, Chicago, etc. But here? dear gawd........Appalachian Dating Service and very desperate, uninteresting, vapid men.

Soooooooooooo......David was one who wrote to me because my profile was rather phunny and also included something like "one gazillion extra points if you own or have access to a cabin."

Well, he was the ONLY one with whom I corresponded......we actually met each other last summer in my neighborhood pub - but I was already dating someone and......truth be told D and I were somewhat lukewarm towards one anotehr in that first meeting. (we call it Love at Second Sight). Oh - worth mentioning that my lifelong friend has been friends w/ David's ex-wife since second grade.....so I DID have a character reference on him.

We have stayed in touch this whole time by phone and email.....I loved his subtlety, bone structure, ;) his interests, passions, tender heart, and his CABIN!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and his and complete LACK of desperation/clinginess. 'Twas only later that I discovered he smelled of Vetiver.....

So.....when I was finished w/ that brief relationship last summer, David was dating someone..........but then became free months ago and.........

:lol::lol:

Either that, or could place it in a new, lovely frame and give it as a birthday gift for Heb (best friend), as it is coming up.

With all of us now ensconced in the world of digital photography, there is no longer the supply of photo rejects that there once was, as we now simply delete the corners of heads and dog's bums, etc. So this had to happen--a new area to harvest. For Christmas Heb received a lovely pewter frame, and inside are three elderly tourists, one with a walker and another about four hundred pounds, wandering through the back of my shot as I snapped DH and the kids at the Tower of London. Honestly, she has it on her buffet.

I don't remember hearing about a Mini-Kissey, either. Details!

I'm heading to my Mommy's too, to take her out on her errands. Think she may buy me lunch. :)

Yes. my preferred Sleep Shape is the letter L, body jack-knifed and legs kicked fully over to other side of the bed. Quite odd.

Janet - I believe you mean the VERB tense of the word - "absinthed again......."

Added an edit to my earlier writing - - I had a character reference on David because my lifelong friend has known his ex-wife since second grade, hence she's known D for many years, thereby eliminating the need for extensive background checks etc. on the man.

 OMG - is that John AGAIN??????? passed out in dark suit on floor?

Again!!!

Last night, prior to commencing the comparison, he actually says "well I learned MY lesson", and a couple hrs later he's sleeping on the bathroom floor.

(Not a suit, just bad lighting & measly camera)

BTW, it is ONLY absinthe that's had this effect as far as I know.

I think I *really* *REALLY* need to be out of the house most of the day. The dumbass also started w/ recreational Vicodin to go w/ the 7:30am beer(s).

So......Must tell you all about my errand trip out with my mom, and the uncomfortable development that has happened. My mother will be eighty in a month, but she's got all her marbles (at least, all that she's ever had)....Now, it seems that she has suddenly picked up some new vocabulary. She obviously likes the sound of it, as she is saying it regularly.

It's "fan-f*ckin-tastic". She says it at home, when we're speaking about the weather..."Look out the window. It looks fan-f*ckin'-tastic out there!", when she is discussing things with my Dad: "Oh, Les, you should wear that cardigan more often. It looks SO fan-f*ckin'-tasic!!" Gad....So, she sprinkled her conversation with it while out with me. At Home Depot, she told the elderly clerk who was helping her get paint, "That is exactly the colour I've been after. FAN-F*CKIN-TASTIC!!" I'm quickly walking away, by this time. Then, AGAIN, at the grocery store, to the bag packer, a teenage kid..."That's great....just put my eggs on the top, there.... fan-f*ckin'-tastic, young man."

Gaaaaaaaaaddddddd.... :lol::rolleyes::lol:

That and my nutritionist also said that drinking cider is one of the worst drink choices for me, given that I have candida overgrowth.  She said the combination of the alcohol and sugar would be very likely to worsen my candida problem.  She suggested that if I drink, I go for clear vodka, either neat or with a splash of cranberry.   So in summary, I am giving ciders a rest.  Whether it's a gluten risk or sugars and yeast overgrowth, its just not worth it.

While plain, pure tea leaves (black, green, or white) are naturally gluten-free, the issue often lies not with the tea itself but with other ingredients or processing. Many flavored teas use barley malt or other gluten-containing grains as a flavoring agent, which would be clearly listed on the ingredient label. Cross-contamination is another possibility, either in the facility where the tea is processed or, surprisingly, from the tea bag material itself—some tea bags are sealed with a wheat-based glue. Furthermore, it's important to consider that your reaction could be to other substances in tea, such as high levels of tannins, which can be hard on the stomach, or to natural histamines or other compounds that can cause a non-celiac immune response. The best way to investigate is to carefully read labels for hidden ingredients, try switching to a certified gluten-free tea brand that uses whole leaf or pyramid-style bags, and see if the reaction persists.

This is a challenging and confusing situation. The combination of a positive EMA—which is a highly specific marker rarely yielding false positives—alongside strongly elevated TTG on two separate occasions, years apart, is profoundly suggestive of celiac disease, even in the absence of biopsy damage. This pattern strongly aligns with what is known as "potential celiac disease," where the immune system is clearly activated, but intestinal damage has not yet become visible under the microscope. Your concern about the long-term risk of continued gluten consumption is valid, especially given your family's experience with the consequences of delayed diagnosis. Since your daughter is now at an age where her buy-in is essential for a gluten-free lifestyle, obtaining a definitive answer is crucial for her long-term adherence and health. Given that she is asymptomatic yet serologically positive, a third biopsy now, after a proper 12-week challenge, offers the best chance to capture any microscopic damage that may have developed, providing the concrete evidence needed to justify the dietary change. This isn't about wanting her to have celiac; it's about wanting to prevent the insidious damage that can occur while waiting for symptoms to appear, and ultimately giving her the unambiguous "why" she needs to accept and commit to the necessary treatment. This article might be helpful. It breaks down each type of test, and what a positive results means in terms of the probability that you might have celiac disease. One test that always needs to be done is the IgA Levels/Deficiency Test (often called "Total IGA") because some people are naturally IGA deficient, and if this is the case, then certain blood tests for celiac disease might be false-negative, and other types of tests need to be done to make an accurate diagnosis. The article includes the "Mayo Clinic Protocol," which is the best overall protocol for results to be ~98% accurate.

Welcome to the community! Generally, for a gluten challenge before celiac disease blood tests, Tylenol (acetaminophen) is considered safe and should not interfere with your antibody results. The medications you typically need to avoid are those like ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) or naproxen (Aleve) that can cause intestinal irritation, which could potentially complicate the interpretation of an endoscopy if you were to have one. However, it is absolutely crucial that you confirm this with either your gastroenterologist or your surgeon before your procedure. They know the specifics of your case and can give you the definitive green light, ensuring your surgery is comfortable and your celiac testing remains accurate. Best of luck with your surgery tomorrow
