Did somebody say DOUGHNUTS?!?!?!?

Happy first day of the month to you too Nikki, me lips are sealed about the maple syrup indulgence!

OK- can I share some good news?

Kurt is on "sabbatical" for a month (the month he was supposed to take off right after he had the stroke uhm....2 summers ago). No- that's not the good news as I'm sure he will drive me crazy :o:lol: as much as I love him. I completely forgot that this past weekend we had tickets to see Lyle Lovett at the Cape Cod Melody tent. Actually, I wasn't even convinced I wanted to go but I MADE myself get in the car and it was GOOD.

Lyle was fun (and actually handsome in person- I have eclectic taste but I swear)! Good, gluten-free food was had. We stayed at a place on the side of the Cape that I think Alex thinks of when she pictures it and it was fun. I had FUN! We even went to a lavender farm (i now have milk and dark lavender chocolate and a mix for lavender lemonade. I could swim! And we went to the one place down there that makes gluten-free pizza (IMHO it's even better than Risoterria's in NY).

I have been off abx and sans PICC line for 11 days. I think I'm starting to feel a bit more human. :D

Wonderful news Bev, glad you had a fun getaway to the Cape AND that you are feeling human again :D:D

Well, thank GOD, I'm feeling a mite better today, because yesterday was HELL on earth. Won't go into details, because I really want to pretend yesterday never happened. But Mom came over and took charge of the kids, which was a relief, and frankly necessary.

More good news!! I'm glad today is a little better Sarah. Bless your mom for coming to help yesterday, you really needed that :)

According to my research a beaver tail is: "Beaver Tails"

Canadian Doughnuts

" If you ever visited Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, in the winter months on the Rideau Canal, which is the longest skating rink in the world, they serve a sweet pastry, that is essentially a flat doughnut with sugar on top.

Kind of like American fried dough, eh?

Sounds kinda like what we call Elephant Ears.

Hmmmmm....I'm seeing a pattern here.........Beaver Tails, Elephant Ears, Kangaroo Scrotum.............put them all together and you've got........??????????:blink::lol:

Well my feet hurt. I've been cooking all day. It started with a loaf of your basic gluten-free bread... and then I realized that cooking can be very soothing. First do this, then do that, one step at a time. Can't worry about anything else until you do the first step, then the next. Plus, the measuring, chopping, mixing... is all very mindless. Exactly what I needed.

So I made bread, taco beef in the crockpot, sugar cookies, and zucchini quiche (plus two extra pie crusts for the freezer.)

I think I'm gonna cook tomorrow, too. Probably should go buy some more freezer bags/containers.

We'll all be over for the weekend! :D

Well, DS has moved home!!!! We are so excited.

A year ago, he moved back to my MIL's house in Ontario, and we have had very little contact with him since. Anyway, about 2 weeks ago, he called and told us he wanted to come home. We bought him a ticket and picked him up last night. He's spent most of the day with his friends, but actually came home on time for supper for the first time...well... almost ever actually. He seems to have found some manners as well.

Part of me, I must admit, is still waiting for the other show to drop so to speak and for things to go back to the chaos filled mess they were a year ago. Is that bad?

Oh well, for now we are enjoying his company. I am glad he is home, as I missed the additional testosterone support around here.

Happy Canada Day! We are off to watch the local fire works display tonight.

Oh Ryan--how wonderful! :D I'm so happy for all of you. Enjoy being together and try not to worry and get too far ahead of yourself--although it's quite natural to do so.

YAY!!!!! Finally some bits of GOOD NEWS filtering through Sillyville! Sarah the baking machine...awesome! So glad things are a little more bearable today. :)

Yes!!! This is most encouraging....some real good news and not me trying to inject some levity with stories of packing me arse in shorts or sumphin

OMGawd Em--you'd better git packin'! Do you realize we're actually gonna MEET in 9 DAYS????? :D

psawyer Proficient

Yes, Emily, you must get packing now.

Canada Day was a quiet affair here, rather subdued for us. Still getting used to life without Thomas, but not feeling as down as I did yesterday.

Every July 1, I wonder why Canada celebrates this day, but not Open Original Shared Link. Oh, probably because nobody would want another holiday in December. But in terms of the development of Canada as a country, Open Original Shared Link, was much more significant than July 1, 1867.

Another busy day tomorrow.

I just went in to Jack's room to check out what he's packed in his suitcase for our ten-day trip:

six pairs of shorts

one pair of socks

two T shirts

two button-down dress shirts

five pairs of shoes - - two pairs sandals, two pairs runners, one pair oxfords

ONE pair underwear

no sweaters

"Conclusions: The urinary iodine level was significantly lower in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis, and iodine replacement may be important in preventing osteoporosis"  Body iodine status in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis Low iodine can cause thyroid problems, but Iodine deficiency will not show up in thyroid tests.  Iodine is important for healing, its job is to kill off defective and aging cells (Apoptosis). Skin, brain fog, nails, muscle tone all inproved when I started taking 600 mcg (RDA 150 - 1000 mcg) of Liquid Iodine drops. Some with dermatitis herpetiformis, Iodine exacerbates the rash.  I started at 1 drop (50 mcg) and worked up to 12 drops, but I don't have dermatitis herpetiformis.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and I found myself giggling with happiness as I read how your body reached such spring! And I hope that your current journey is also successful!! Definitely starting the food diary! So many amazing advices. And it’s very scary. It really hits all our soft spots as well as our confidence system. Most doctors I went thought I was underage despite being in my late 20s. Right now I look like am I twelve, but is also this body that’s taking so much, so I might as well love it too! Going to make the necessary changes and stay in this path. Thank you again! 🫶

Thank you so much for the information and kind message! Reading this transformed how I’ve been viewing my efforts and progress. Guess there’s still a lot to celebrate and also heal 😌  Yes, I’ve been taking it! Just recently started taking a multivitamin supplement and separated vitamin D! I also took chewable Iron polymaltose for ferritin deficiency 2 months ago but was unable to absorb any of it.  Thank you again! Hearing such gentle words from the community makes my body and heart more patient and excited for the future.
