Yes, a fine name, full of potential and promise and surely a joy to be around

Emily Silver  Such a shiny, happy name!

Speaking of silver, I DID see, or sort of hear vaguely, in the background, that the Canucks WON a silver today????!!!!!!! Em, what WOZ it?????????? Either cycling or canoo-ing er.......I mean.....kayacking? that's not it......what in hell is that watercraft they're using? Brain not coming up wif it at present........

 Well, a joy to be around, dunno about that, but .....y'know, it's the damndest thing.. . . .I'm just sitting here, very quiet........ . .. . . .and.........it's quite unmistakeable... . . . ......

....... .. . . . . ..I think I can hear my uterus singing to me...........

   gawd......is it "O Canada?" by chance? in hopes of winning some more medals?

imbue??? - don't get a chance to use that one much in yer everyday life - Susie will be pleased.

  Pseuzee IS pleased :)

RACHEL - this is for you:

you quoted me twice in your post of a couple of days ago........I said soemthing like "it's not like this is the worldwide web or anything" and something like "it's not like everyone can't read our stuff" and.......at least one of those was taken out of context.

I am not sure if you are aware of exactly WHAT we talk about on here.........much of the time. alas, they are mainly bodily functions, and insofar as we know, there are no rules against that here.

We spent a VERY VERY VERY short time irritated at a couple of threads and hot-headed opinions and other stuff. I never read the beer thread and only briefly scanned the glutenease thread.......so I'm not sure what it was all about, precisely. Except that, from what I can gather, people become upset at another poster's ABSOLUTENESS over a solution/cure/answer when.....one cure does not fit all. Hence, people argue.

What *I* was referring to, mainly, was our talking about and wondering if people are AWARE..........um...........anal slings (from a movie, I think? Rob Schneider?), kangaroo scrotum sacks (someone's grandfather had a coin purse made out of this), pharts, anal glands (from the need to have our various dogs' glands squeezed) and other rather scatological topics, Rivers of Wee (from when I peed in a bathroom stall and missed the toilet completely)....Care Bears with machine guns  (from a nutty teenager who was with us for a time, and seems to have left the forum), singing uterusus (uteri?), The Hoff, various celebrities we love, what we do all day......what we ate........diarrheal blowouts......Dutch ovens (a special kind of farting in bed)...the jobs we're doing or trying to get....the sleep we're getting or not getting.....the broken hearts from which we're suffering....BASTARD MEN. (two in our crowd have been afflicted by same)... things we ate......things we WANNA eat.....glutenings....stuff like taht. It's a fast pace........it's hard to jump in in the middle but we always LOVE and WELCOME any intrepid newcomer to our madness. :) We are madly goofy, and welcome ANYONE who wants to play.

We have over two years and 1200 pages of material, jokes that build upon jokes, lots of history here.......and plenty of goofy stuff. Lots of love, support, friendship, venting, and caring. Irreplaceable. Many in our group have actually MET each other, adn we long for the day when someone wins the lottery and can bring us all together.

and WHERE were many of these friendships/connections formed???????? In the OMG thread. IN Rachelville, in that magic and insane summer (for which we got BUSTED! ) in 2006. This is, really, a bedroom community of Rachelville.......a new place where we could be completely silly and off-topic and not get in trouble....and we NEVER have, until now. :( We never knew that such lovely, abiding friendships would develop. I can't even tell you how these people took care of me in my recent heartache........truly unbelievable. When my own friends, here in real life, were sick of listneing to me.......I had my sillies.

soooooooooooooo...........having said all that I'd like to now say - -

WE ARE DONE FIGHTING. WE ARE DONE SAYING BAD THINGS. WE temporarily lost our way, and our manners. very, very briefly.......very quickly. It's over now.

WE NEED TO MOVE ON.

Sillies, this is our beloved silly spot of friendship, goofiness, laffs and support.

AS YOUR QUEEN, I

HEREBY DECREE

that we get back to the spirit of things. Remember why we are here.

I would advise, if things upset you too much on controversial threads, do as I do, and STAY AWAY. Yes, the calm voice of reason should always prevail. But, people are going to believe what they want to believe, most of the time. Add your two cents, and move on. Do as Sarah did - and write to an offending company. WRite a couple of impassioned, informed posts.........and step away.

Or..........hell, stay there and fight. I don't care. Do what you need to do and do what is right.

But HERE?????????? BACK TO SILLY!!!!!!!!!!! BACK TO LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP!!!!!!!!!!! END OF DISSENSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

end of monarchial rant.

Sung by a uterus?

Yes!! Yes!! Argumentative posts are to be recited in iambic pentametre. I will score it, put it to music, and my uterus will sing it. Actually, if you women take the time to sit quietly, and just.....listen..........perhaps you will hear strains coming from within, as well. Then we could have a chorus..... . . . .

Oh Canada.... . . yes, I believe that is what I've been hearing from....well, you know where.......and it's worked, as we've won three medals - -poised for a few more tomorrow!

Some people do take that personal.....however, having a difference in opinion is not a violation of board rule #1.

Making fun of the person (on a public forum) who does not agree with your views is disrespectful.

Clearly, we will have to agree to disagree that we have very different definitions of what constitutes acting respectfully. But alas, our monarch has declared the end of this so on to more important things :D

The post that was on the top of page 1200 is now about five posts down the page. To do that, posts would have to be inserted into the thread. A moderator could find an obscure old thread with five posts and merge that thread with this one to cause such an effect. But without going back and rereading the entire thread, it could be very difficult to find the imported posts.

Hello, @asaT, I'm curious to know whether you are taking other B vitamins like Thiamine B1 and Niacin B3.  Malabsorption in Celiac disease affects all the water soluble B vitamins and Vitamin C.  Thiamine and Niacin are required to produce energy for all the homocysteine lowering reactions provided by Folate, Cobalamine and Pyridoxine.   Weight gain with a voracious appetite is something I experienced while malnourished.  It's symptomatic of Thiamine B1 deficiency.   Conversely, some people with thiamine deficiency lose their appetite altogether, and suffer from anorexia.  At different periods on my lifelong journey, I suffered this, too.   When the body doesn't have sufficient thiamine to turn food, especially carbohydrates, into energy (for growth and repair), the body rations what little thiamine it has available, and turns the carbs into fat, and stores it mostly in the abdomen.  Consuming a high carbohydrate diet requires additional thiamine to process the carbs into energy.  Simple carbohydrates (sugar, white rice, etc.) don't contain thiamine, so the body easily depletes its stores of Thiamine processing the carbs into fat.  The digestive system communicates with the brain to keep eating in order to consume more thiamine and other nutrients it's not absorbing.   One can have a subclinical thiamine insufficiency for years.  A twenty percent increase in dietary thiamine causes an eighty percent increase in brain function, so the symptoms can wax and wane mysteriously.  Symptoms of Thiamine insufficiency include stunted growth, chronic fatigue, and Gastrointestinal Beriberi (diarrhea, abdominal pain), heart attack, Alzheimer's, stroke, and cancer.   Thiamine improves bone turnover.  Thiamine insufficiency can also affect the thyroid.  The thyroid is important in bone metabolism.  The thyroid also influences hormones, like estrogen and progesterone, and menopause.  Vitamin D, at optimal levels, can act as a hormone and can influence the thyroid, as well as being important to bone health, and regulating the immune system.  Vitamin A is important to bone health, too, and is necessary for intestinal health, as well.   I don't do dairy because I react to Casein, the protein in dairy that resembles gluten and causes a reaction the same as if I'd been exposed to gluten, including high tTg IgA.  I found adding mineral water containing calcium and other minerals helpful in increasing my calcium intake.   Malabsorption of Celiac affects all the vitamins and minerals.  I do hope you'll talk to your doctor and dietician about supplementing all eight B vitamins and the four fat soluble vitamins because they all work together interconnectedly.

Hi Jane: You may want to try the D3 I now take. I have reactions to fillers and many additives. Sports Research, it is based in the USA and I have had no bad reactions with this brand. The D3 does have coconut oil but it is non GMO, it is Gluten free, Soy free, Soybean free and Safflower oil free.  I have a cupboard full of supplements that did not agree with me -  I just keep trying and have finally settled on Sports Research. I take NAKA Women's Multi full spectrum, and have not felt sick after taking 2 capsules per day -  it is a Canadian company. I buy both from Amazon. I wish you well in your searching, I know how discouraging it all is. Florence.

highly unlikely  NOTHING and I mean NOTHING else has ever caused me these kinds of symptoms I have no problem with dates, they are a large part of my diet In fact, I eat a very high fiber, very high vegetable and bean diet and have for many years now. It's considered a whole foods plant based or plant forward diet (I do now eat some lean ground turkey but not much) I was off dairy for years but recently had to add back plain yogurt to meet calcium needs that I am not allowed to get from supplements (I have not had any problem with the yogurt)   I eat almost no processed foods. I don't eat out. almost everything I eat, I cook myself I am going to keep a food diary but to be honest, I already know that it's wheat products and also barley that are the problem, which is why I gradually stopped eating and buying them. When I was eating them, like back in early 2024, when I was in the middle of moving and ate out (always had bread or toast or rolls or a sub or pizza) I felt terrible but at that time was so busy and exhausted that I never stopped to think it was the food. Once I was in my new place, I continued to have bread from time to time and had such horrible joint pain that I was preparing for 2 total knee replacements as well as one hip! The surgery could not go forward as I was (and still am) actively losing calcium from my bones. That problem has yet to be properly diagnosed and treated   anyway over time I realized that I felt better when I stopped eating bread. Back at least 3 yrs ago I noticed that regular pasta made me sick so I switched to brown rice pasta and even though it costs a lot more, I really like it.   so gradually I just stopped buying and eating foods with gluten. I stopped getting raisin bran when I was constipated because it made me bloated and it didn't help the constipation any more (used to be a sure bet that it would in the past)   I made cookies and brownies using beans and rolled oats and dates and tahini and I LOVE them and have zero issues eating those I eat 1 or more cans of beans per day easily can eat a pound of broccoli - no problem! Brussels sprouts the same thing.   so yeh it's bread and related foods that are clearly the problem  there is zero doubt in my mind

Thank you for your post, @nanny marley It is interesting what you say about 'It's OK not to sleep'. Worrying about sleeping only makes it much harder to sleep.  One of my relatives is an insomniac and I am sure that is part of the problem.  Whereas I once had a neighbour who, if she couldn't sleep, would simply get up again, make a cup of tea, read, do a sudoku or some other small task, and then go back to bed when she felt sleepy again.  I can't think it did her any harm - she lived  well into her nineties. Last week I decided to try a Floradix Magnesium supplement which seems to be helping me to sleep better.  It is a liquid magnesium supplement, so easy to take.  It is gluten free (unlike the Floradix iron supplement).  Might be worth a try.

It could be a fructan intolerance? How do you do with dates?  https://www.dietvsdisease.org/sorry-your-gluten-sensitivity-is-actually-a-fructan-intolerance/
