Nicola!!!!!!!!!! there is a definite princess Diana quality to your dress! Was it designed by that duo (what's-their-names) that did her dress? oh, no doubt 'twas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Um, did I ever tell you I was in London the week that Charles and Diana got married (July '81)? Quite the bacchanal........so much fun! (sorry to be repeating me stories)

Oh mygaaaawd  ...Princess Diana???

...and you were in London when they got married??.....GADS you must admit we Brits do love a bit of pomp & ceremony

Anywho me pic in the av is not 'til 1990 (got married in the registry office in '88 and had it blessed in the church in '90).....hideous meringue of a dress which I hired for the day........GADS...cost

  I could not watch the whole thing (attention span of a gnat) but what I saw was quite cute - that old man

This has to be zombie man even more deranged (but sans dressing and jim-jam bottoms) than usual.....perhaps searching for the perfect wheat free sausage

Indeed  but pholks - I have a disappointing update on Sausage Wanker......heard a re-run of the 11 o'clock news at 2 a.m. (yup, up half the night  ) and......what that programME said was that......a man broke into the house, came out and threw a handful of spice into the face of one man.....then on his way out beat "several people" in the face with teh sausage   They showed the little dog eating sausage on teh ground......geez, that was SO STAGED <_<

I was sad that there was no body rubbed with spices but really chortling to self, as were the local newscasters......and......why did the lunatic have to break into the house if there were people sitting on the front porch? sumfin' fishy going on here.......methinks it's a coverup of some sort but brain is too tired to reason it out......... I'm sure you guys will think of sumfin'

. . . ......stole some poor bloke's prosthesis.......NOT phunny for the poor man, obviously. He must have spent the next few days walking in circles...... .. . .

Or hopping in circles....

I was chortling to myself this morning during me run, as I realized that yes, of course the poor man would be HOPPING ABOUT, not walking in circles. A circular path would be made if the burglar stole the man's RIGHT prosthetic leg (assuming that it's his right leg that's gone), and quietly replaced it with a LEFT one. 'Twould be quite a sight. This man, however, would be able to put to use all of those odd socks that accumulate in our drawers.

Hmmm....unfortunate that I do not know anyone in this unfortunate situation, as my family accumulates ALL KINDS of odd socks.... . . ....

 YES!!! Which is handy as I feel that mostly *I* don't have the brain power to string two words together

EM!! I love the way you've thought out the actual mechanics of whether the man would be hopping in circles  (clock-wise or anti- clockwise?? )

Loving the funny news stories! I've got one for ya. You guys know I live in a very rural area. Well, about 10 years ago or so, we finally got an ATM in a nearby town. (Nearby, as in almost 30 minutes, but still the closest ATM by far.) It was so great, everyone was talking about how convenient it was to finally have an ATM. Ha, you're probably already laughing.

So anyway, about a month later, some guy came up from the city and tried to use the ATM, and it wouldn't give him any money. He tried calling the 800 number, but apparently was unsatisfied with the customer service. So he pulled out a gun, and shot the ATM.

The headline in our little weekly paper was, "ATM Shot 3 Times; Not Killed."

Boy, I hear ya on THAT one .. . . ..... . ..pretty intimidating and downright bumfoozling over there in GIG Land. . .. ... .I really want to just suddenly pop into the incredibly intellectual discourse with something light to cut the tension that pervades, as I haven't a hope of contributing anything remotely meaningful.

Do you think that a woman should label her brassiere size on the outside of her clothing, across her chest area, so that a man can make an educated choice about whether or not to pursue things?

Sigh... . . .. ..... .. .This is about all I could offer..........they'd just eat me up, I fear........

<_<

Well.... . . this would surely depend on where on the planet he is.......in Australia, he'd surely be hopping counter........ . . ..... :P

Hallo Psillies- I'm back (at least for today) Gah- more Picc line drama. The one in my right arm freaked (same thing- hives, burning, blisters, weeping and all sorts of fun). Turns out I'm allergic to all adhesive and tape except paper.

So I had to have PICC line #4 in my left arm and can only use regular gauze etc which means I (as in me myself) have to change the dressing every other day. I am :(:(:(

but most of all- tired, sore whiney and need some Psilly love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and a summary from Lisa :P

We would need clear-cut enforcement of the 'truth in labeling' laws...

Am trying to treat by spending time lying in the sun :) . Dunno if it's helping, but I'm enjoying the treatment. Boy am I gonna p*** off everyone back at work :D

I had some kind of weird delayed allergic reaction like that--my midsection itched so bad that I was scratching myself in my sleep and leaving marks on my skin. I had to wear a thin cotton shirt under everything or I couldn't stand it. (luckily it was winter)

At my 5 week checkup, the doctor said it was most likely a healing reaction--who knows, maybe I was also allergic to the scrub stuff.

Enjoy your "treatment" B)

 Ya know I had to run right over there to see the bullet holes, hehe. Everyone around here was furious at "that crazy city boy" for coming up here and shooting up our only ATM! We have more ATMs now, though, so if anybody gets any ideas, I'm covered.

Hi Katht -  I sympathize with your struggles in following a gluten-free diet and lifestyle. I found out that I had Celiac Disease a few months before I turned 70. I just turned 89 and it has taken me almost 20 years to attain a fairly normal intestinal  function. I also lost a lot of weight, down to 100 lb. down from about 140 lb. What Trents wrote you was very true for me. I am still elimination foods from my diet. One person suggested you keep a food diary and that is a good idea but it is probably best just to do an elimination diet. There are several ne and maybe one for celiacs. I used one for a while and started with plain rice and zucchini and then added back other foods to see if I reacted or not. That helped a great deal but what I did not realise that it would only very small amounts of some foods to cause inflammation in my intestine. Within the last few years I have stopped eating any trace amounts of hot peppers, corn and soy(mostly in supplements) and nuts, (the corn in Tylenol was giving me stomach aches and the nuts were causing foot pains). Starting an elimination diet with white rice is better than brown rice that has some natural toxins. In addition it is very important to drink sufficient plain water. You can find out how much to drink for your height and weight online. I do have difficulty drinking 48 ounces of water but just recently have found an electrolyte supplement that helps me stay well hydrated, Adding the water and electrolytes may reduce muscle cramps and gag spams you wrote about. . Also buy some anti-gluten enzyme capsules to take with meals. I use GliadinX advertised here. These are a lot of things to do at one time as they reflect my 20 years of experience. I hope you do what you can manage to do over time. Good luck and take care.

Hi all !! Did anyone ever get prescribed methylprednisone steroids for inflammation of stomach and intestines?  Did it work ??  Thank you !!
    • cristiana
Hi Colleen Are you supplementing B12/having injections? I have learned recently that sometimes when you start addressing a B12 deficiency, it can temporarily make your symptoms worse.  But it is important not to stop the treatment.  Regarding your problems with anxiety, again that is another symptom of a B12 deficiency.   I didn't know what anxiety was until it hit me like a train several months before gastrointestinal issues began, so I can certainly relate.   Two books which helped me hugely were At Last A Life by Paul David (there is a website you can look up) and The Depression Cure: The Six-Step Programme to Beat Depression Without Drugs by Dr Steve Llardi.  Although his book is aimed at people who have depression, following the principals he sets out was so helpful in lessening my anxiety.  Llardi suggests we need to focus on getting enough: - physical exercise - omega-3 fatty acids - natural sunlight exposure - restorative sleep - social connectedness - meaningful, engaging activity   ... and we should feel a lot better. That is not to stay you must stop taking medication for depression or anxiety if you have been prescribed it, but adopting the changes Dr Llardi sets out in the book should really help. Can I just ask two more questions:  1) you say that you are B12 deficient, did they test your iron levels too?  If not, you really ought to be checked for deficiency and, 2) did they check your thyroid function, as an overactive thyroid can be cause rapid heartbeat and a lot of coeliacs have thyroid issues? Hello still dancing around my celiac disease and not getting medically backed up considering Ive been glutenfree since 1994.All my ailments are the core issue of my ghost disease aka celiac disease. Im angery because the "celiac specialist " basically lightly dismissed me.Im extremely angery and fighting for a new primary care physician which is hard to do in Northern Cali.So currently without and looking.Im angery that its lightly taken when its extremely serious to the one who has it.My only evidence is a brochure back in the days when I got news letters when I lived at my parents. It was published in 1998.I was diagnosed before any foods eliminated from my diet. Angery doctors don't take seriously when Im clearly speaking.I did write to the medicine of congress and have case number.
