Speaking of snort- while googling for thumb jokes I found THIS under practical jokes:

SNOT TRICK: Take a little sauerkraut and stuff the end of it up your nose so it hangs down over your mouth. Put your hands over your nose and mouth and fake a sneeze in front of someone. Then pull your hands down and if you can stand it, start eating the saurkraut. [Thanks to Cindy R.]

Can you imagine? Hmmm...at a Red Sox game.

New band name!

OMG - that thumb in Patti's av..... quite long adn skinny. I would have to say NO if he asked me out.

OMG - speaking of being asked out. It did happen last night, a very persistent (and GORGEOUS) young man.

Alas, he was ridiculously nattily dressed.......had on a very expensive business shirt, light blue with white collar and white FRENCH CUFFS. With CUFFLINKS. who in hell wears those any more, especially in this god-forsaken fashion wasteland of a town? [Which is the very question I asked him as I examined said links. ] He put his number into my cell phone.....I deleted it when I got home to avoid texting temptation. Oh - why, you ask? Because.....after he walked me out to my car, he went in and had a drink with a young blonde that came in. I told him that I knew he was going to do this, of course. Oh, and he's also 35. WAY too young. And, he's 6 foot 5 inches - way too tall. Hurts my neck just thinking about it.

But dang, I really shoulda checked out his thumbs.

OMG. . .... .... . .... . ...That is the stuff of side shows. .. . . . . ... ...

Hey, my boyfriend is 6'5". I just stand on the bed when I need a big comfy hug. He's used to leaning down for stuff anyway. There are a few light fixtures in the house that give him some trouble, I kinda designed the place before I knew he'd be around.... heh heh, oops......

I can also comfortably say that my boyfriend had the largest hands I've seen on a man except my uncle who played professional basketball. And the slenderness of the thumb would appear to have no correlation to the slenderness of the .... um.. ahem.

Anyway. I'm having grund beef n onions with cheese on top and a salad for dinner! Maybe some garlic bread too. How bout you guys? :)

Oh yes...that IS an interesting point...however, I have always heard the nose was the true measure of a man...

Ruminating on the erogenous buttock area zone the past couple of days ...I've come to the conclusion that sadly, for us celiacs that is a phallacy...the fault line in that zone is prone to eruptions (ie. Mt. St. Helens' reference) ...could cause some pserious dephlation in the plumbing fixture (ballcock) ...sadly we may have to phorgo yet another pleasure...

oh yes..as for sauerkraut up the nose...not as fun as it seems it would be, LOL

 Bunnie, you is silly! we are going to get in TROUBLE......Em started it  (oh wait, Jack started it)

Well, this guy was too young, too pretty, too dressed up  and, he had the slight whiff of cheater about him. <_< Just the slightest and I could be wrong but......I'm a little hypersensitive to that at this point. You have to be careful of the SOOOOPER charming, smooth guys......

Your dinner sounds yummy. I have made my world-famous herbed/vegetable meatloaf, it astounds me every time. [especially astounding is that when my mom served meatloaf when I was little, I would skulk out of the room shrieking "NOT DOG FOOD NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" so the fact that I now love it (revised gourmand recipe) is shocking]

I worked for just over three hours this morning for my old boss in the trail crew office......very productive, trying to organize him (very scary with one who has such a wildly DISorganized brain).

I am soooooooooooo bored right now and do not know what to do wtih self. Oh, don't get me wrong, there's plenty to do here......but a distinct sense of ennui is settling in......

This article does not address migraines at all.  Yes, red wine and sulfites are often mentioned in connection with migraine triggers. With me, any kind of alcoholic beverage in very modest amounts will reliably produce a migraine. Nitrous oxide generators, which are vaso dialators, also will give me migraines reliably. So, I think most of my migraines are tied to fluctuations vascular tension and blood flow to the brain. That's why the sumatriptan works so well. It is a vaso constrictor.

Excessive dietary tyrosine can cause problems.  Everything in moderation.   Sulfites can also trigger migraines. Sulfites are found in fermented, pickled and aged foods, like cheese.  Sulfites cause a high histamine release.  High histamine levels are found in migraine.  Following a low histamine diet like the low histamine Autoimmune Protocol diet, a Paleo diet, helps immensely.    Sulfites and other migraine trigger foods can cause changes in the gut microbiome.  These bad bacteria can increase the incidence of migraines, increasing histamine and inflammation leading to increased gut permeability (leaky gut), SIBO, and higher systemic inflammation.   A Ketogenic diet can reduce the incidence of migraine.  A Paleo diet like the AIP diet, that restricts carbohydrates (like from starchy vegetables) becomes a ketogenic diet.  This diet also changes the microbiome, eliminating the bad bacteria and SIBO that cause an increase in histamine, inflammation and migraine.  Fewer bad bacteria reduces inflammation, lowers migraine frequency, and improves leaky gut. Since I started following the low histamine ketogenic AIP paleo diet, I rarely get migraine.  Yes, I do eat carbs occasionally now, rice or potato, but still no migraines.  Feed your body right, feed your intestinal bacteria right, you'll feel better.  Good intestinal bacteria actually make your mental health better, too.  I had to decide to change my diet drastically in order to feel better all the time, not just to satisfy my taste buds.  I chose to eat so I would feel better all the time.  I do like dark chocolate (a migraine trigger), but now I can indulge occasionally without a migraine after.   Microbiota alterations are related to migraine food triggers and inflammatory markers in chronic migraine patients with medication overuse headache https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11546420/

Then we would need to cut out all meat and fish as they are richer sources of tyrosine than nuts and cheese. Something else about certain tyrosine rich foods must be the actual culprit.

I agree that KAN-101 looks promising, and hope the fast track is approved. From our article below: "KAN-101 shows promise as an immune tolerance therapy aiming to retrain the immune system, potentially allowing safe gluten exposure in the future, but more clinical data is needed to confirm long-term effects."
    • Scott Adams
Thank you so much for having the courage to share this incredibly vivid and personal experience; it's a powerful reminder of how physical ailments can disrupt our fundamental sense of self. What you're describing sounds less like a purely psychological body dysmorphia and more like a distinct neurological event, likely triggered by the immense physical stress and inflammation that uncontrolled celiac disease can inflict on the entire body, including the nervous system. It makes complete sense that the specific sensory input—the pressure points of your elbows on your knees—created a temporary, distorted body map in your brain, and the fact that it ceased once you adopted a gluten-free diet is a crucial detail. Your intuition to document this is absolutely right; it's not "crazy" but rather a significant anecdotal data point that underscores the mysterious and far-reaching ways gluten can affect individuals. Your theory about sensory triggers from the feet for others is also a thoughtful insight, and sharing this story could indeed be validating for others who have had similar, unexplainable sensory disturbances, helping them feel less alone in their journey.
