Just made up the weeks grocery list and we are about to head out. I am thinking about making homemade soup this week. I got a whole menu planned....with all the price increases going on gas groceries, we started planning meals and it has been working out. I am starting to enjoy cooking...

This is a great idea Amanda, planning all your meals ahead and grocery lists with all the prices increasing on everything :)

Soup sounds great about now! Tis very cold here  I need to dig up a recipe I made last winter, Potato Corn chowder. It was delish....I hope I can find it.

OK RANT COMING...............

I was tired when we got home and ran to Acme to pick up a Tyson beef dinner that i ck'd the ingred on 2 w.eeks ago.

TODAY .........YOU CAN'T BELIEVE THE exact same package had .........WHEAT AND 3 KINDS OF SOY.

They didn't have any discaimers at the bottom of the ingred list either. Another company bites the dust.

Why do we always have to cook to live?............I hate this disease

came home and did pork chops and sourcrout and m/p and salad......fast but DIDN'T WANT TO COOK.

MAN THAT FRESH FRIED CHICKEN LOOKED AND SMELLED SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD.

Haven't had any fried foods in years.

CARRY ON MY SILLIES........

Can you imagine if the sillies in the OBX go out to dinner............. man that waiter/waitress better be ready for them

poor judy!! well ur dinner sounds much better!! healthier... and homemade... but still, i know that doesn't really help :(

OMG - I think I miss fried food more than anything......... :( My Last Supper, whilst being driven home from colonoscopy/endo, was a butt load of fried chicken *sigh*

began working for a former boss three weeks ago, VERY part-time at this point, was scared to death. But - I am so excited - it's working out so well, and I think it gets to be a permanent position for me.

*snort* what DOES it mean??????????????? mygawd........what it means is that Queen Erica the Young and ColoUrful has become..........one of us

<don't tell yer parents>

*snort* quite somethign........our youngest royal member just OFFICIALLY became an Advanced Community Member...............a record, surely

How big would I say WHAT was?????? my poop? are we really going to go there, Em? do you REALLY want ot know that? *snort* :madcackle:

My Last Snack after i came home from the endoscopy was a whole sleeve of Saltines... and i believe the gluten-freeness began that very evening

hooray!!

hmm... is Bridget Jones a good book/movie? what's it about?

Evening Sillies-

Been a long day and a long night- Last evening Landen was here and at 11 he woke up sick and he was crying on and off all night- poor thing. We didnt get much sleep.

We are looking at a house in Mechanicsburg--- 5 minutes from Wegmans, talk about right up my alley.

Well John is watching the PSU game and I am resting. My leg is bothering me- Had another accident with it 3 weeks ago- I think I will be getting it MRIed.....There are some odd lookign bumps by my ankle bone-- the site of impact....lots of brusing on the top of my foot too near the ankle.....I am sooo klutzy!!!

so sorry about landen... hope you can all get more sleep tonight

really? Mechanicsburg? ooh but sounds good :)

omg amanda!! doesn't sound good.... but right there w/u on the klutziness

But........I'm freezing now..........I think the house is at about 76 er sumfin' and so......I have to crawl into bed and get snuggly and warm.

take that, you Canucks and East Coasters and Southern Londerners, I am a COMPLETE wuss and will happily admit it

♥♥♥♥♥♥

freezing?!!! yes, perhaps the biggest wuss i have ever known!

after myself of course (just not temperature-wise)

But - speaking of stoves - sumfin' quite funny happened today, involving a whole roll of dental floss falling (unbeknownst to me) out of its plastic container and........into the metal burner-thingy under the stove grate.....I have no idea how it got there or how long it had been there. Gads.

tell me, who in HELL has a burning, melted orb of molten dental floss on his or her stove, but ME?

<it was REALLY cool, BTW>

hmmm, so I could carry the bankcard in my teeth, and I've got the pin number...but how to get out of the house with it?

I'm excited too about the doggie love!!!!!! I never realized how much I missed having a dog until now, I was just scared I think getting attached to another bundle of fur after losing my last dog like I did.

awwww

These are all of our houses, nestled closely together, basking in this day of thanks. .. . ..the smell of turkey, ham, sweet potatoes wafting through the neighboUrhood. .. . .....

If you look closely, you'll see the jester lying between the last two houses, the robe wound around him, an empty bottle of port beside him. . .. . .....he just CANNOT be invited to any holiday soirees. Hmm. . . . unless the bugler accompanies him. They are bad for one another, and there is for certain some enabling going on, but in a sick kind of way, they need one another . . . .. ..

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL OUR CANUCKS!!

well i was wondering where the jester went!! snuck back up to canada for the alcohol and festivities did he? i suppose he can stay up there for a few days... just send him back down when his hangover's gone -- the poor bugler going crazy with loneliness :(

Okay, Nik.. . . I'll trade ya ALT combination sequences, as I cannot find the duodeum combination anywhere on the Oracle's chart. We must do this clandestinely, as Others may be reading along: The excellent li'l houses are formed this way:

ALT + 127

Um, a bigger question: What is dental phloss doing in Sooozie's kitchen, above her stove? Are you trussin' turkeys and other fowl up with the stuff, Soozie??

I had a very rough month after diagnosis. No exaggeration, lost so much inflammatory weight, I looked like a bag of bones, underneath i had been literally starving to death. I did start feeling noticeably better after a month of very strict control of my kitchen and home. What are you eating for breakfast and lunch? I ignored my doc and ate oats, yes they were gluten free, but some brands are at the higher end of gluten free. Lots of celics can eat Bob's Red Mill gluten-free oats, but not me. I can now eat them, but they have to be grown and processed according to the "purity protocol" methods. I mail order them, Montana Gluten-Free brand. A food and symptoms and activities log can be helpful in tracking down issues. You might be totally aware, but I have to mention about the risk of airborne gluten. As the doc that diagnosed me warned . . Remember eyes, ears, nose, and mouth all lead to your stomach and intestines.  Are you getting any cross contamination? Airborne gluten? Any pets eating gluten (they eat it, lick themselves, you pet them...)? Any house remodeling? We live in an older home, always fixing something. I've gotten glutened from the dust from cutting into plaster walls, possibly also plywood (glues). The suggestions by many here on vitamin supplements also really helped me. I had some lingering allergies and asthma, which are now 99% gone. I was taking Albuterol inhaler every hour just to breathe, but thiamine in form of benfotiamine kicked that down to 1-2 times a day within a few days of starting it. Also, since cutting out inflammatory seed oils (canola, sunflower, grapeseed, etc) and cooking with real olive oil, avocado oil, ghee, and coconut oil, I have noticed even greater improvement overall and haven't used the inhaler in months! It takes time to weed out everything in your life that contains gluten, and it takes awhile to heal and rebuild your health. At first it's mentally exhausting, overwhelming, even obsessive, but it gets better and second nature.

Hi,  I care for my seven year old daughter with Celiac. After watching her for months, I have figured out that she has problem with two kinds of fats- animal fat and cooking oils. It basically makes her intestine sore enough that she feels spasms when she is upset. It only happens on days when she has eaten more fat than her usual every day diet. (Her usual diet has chia seeds, flaxseeds, and avocado/ pumpkin seeds for fat and an occasional chicken breast.) I stopped using cooking oils last year, and when I reintroduced eggs and dairy, both of which I had held off for a few months thinking it was an issue of the protein like some Celiac patients habe mentioned to be the case, she has reacted in the same fashion as she does with excess fats. So now I wonder if her reaction to dairy and eggs is not really because of protein but fat.   I don't really have a question, just wondering if anyone finds this familiar and if it gets better with time.  Thank you.

Hello, My name is Chanda and you are not the only one that gose through the same things. I have found that what's easiest for me is finding a few meals each week that last. I have such severe reactions to gluten that it shuts my entire body down. I struggle everyday with i can't eat enough it feels like, when I eat more I lose more weight. Make sure that you look at medication, vitamins and shampoo and conditioner also. They have different things that are less expensive at Walmart.

Thank you so much! I saw some tips around the forum to make a food diary and now that I know that the community also struggles with corn, egg and soy, the puzzle pieces came together! Just yesterday I tried eating eggs and yes, he’s guilty and charged. Those there are my 3 combo nausea troublemakers. I’m going to adjust my diet ☺️ Also thank you for the information about MCAS! I’m from South America and little it’s talked about it in here. It’s honestly such a game changer now for treatment and recovery. I know I’m free from SIBO and Candida since I’ve been tested for it, but I’m still going to make a endoscopy to test for H. Pylori and Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). Thank you again!! Have a blessed weekend 🤍

Yes, I, too, have osteoporosis from years of malabsorption, too.  Thiamine and magnesium are what keep the calcium in place in the bones.  If one is low in magnesium, boron, selenium, zinc, copper, and other trace minerals, ones bone heath can suffer.  We need more than just calcium and Vitamin D for strong bones.  Riboflavin B 2, Folate B 9 and Pyridoxine B 6 also contribute to bone formation and strength.   Have you had your thyroid checked?  The thyroid is important to bone health as well.  The thyroid uses lots of thiamine, so a poorly functioning thyroid will affect bone heath.
