Nikki......how many hrs are you ahead of us.......?

I figgered she is 7 hrs ahead of me, so depending on where you are from me add or subtract an hour or two.

Well, I don't know about this. Somebody here seems to be obsessed with a certain body part.

The sillies have already seen my thumb and have had a peek at my balls. Tom and I are the only current sillies who possess what all the women seem to be interested in. Do I need to provide a picture of my tool? :D

I don't know dick about what to say next. B)

GAH!!!!! Peter!!! Hilarious!!!

(I snorted, for real!!)

just today, I'm in TJMaxx, and found some Black Fig Absinthe Body Cream :blink: it stinketh (it's on me hand) but I did crack up

Black Fig Absinthe Body Cream?? Why would one want to buy anything named that?! :lol: ...I can just imagine the round table discussions of the product naming team on that one. Were they drunk? Under the influence of absinthe I would guess, hee hee.

John is doing much better. He has filed a formal complaint and he was told he was not the first person to do so.

Amanda, I'm so happy to hear that John is okay....and that he's got support from others who have gone through the same crap . . . ...

um... did anyone else dress up?

Oh, yeah . . . . .. .there were 245 teams, and we were all encouraged to have a theme for our teams. We left it too long, and at 5:00 on the night of the event, it was essentially left to ME to provide some costumes/theme for the ten of us (including Manhead). So, grabbed ten of our dress-up hats. The rest is history.

:rolleyes:

WELL......I am giving him, as a Christmas present, to my best friend (the friend with Huntington's), as she is a single mom, living with her two young boys. I'm giving it to her as a protective device, to place in her windows, front and back, and/or near the door, so that evil burglars/murderers/psychcopaths will suddenly stop before they break into her home:

"Holy crap......lookit that guy in there. Quite a broad chest, and his mouth is set in a firm, hard line. Jeez. . . .... I don't think I want to mess with that individual. Think I'll just try next door".......

:lol::lol:

Yes, we must discuss this!! I think we should all think of what we believe has been the phunniest, Psilliest post/situation in the last year (or we could open it up to the funniest of ALL Psillyville history, but some weren't here way back)......

And then perhaps a vote?

You might want to send her a link to the mineral makeup thread, if she wants to avoid getting arrested for having a greying corpse propped in her window.

:lol: Indeed.

Do y'all think I should wrap him up, put a big Christmas bow around his neck? Yes, this will make it even more hilarious, when she opens it and sees him in all his protective glory.... . . ...

Should I let her in on all of the Burundi/China baggage that he's got?

Sillyville=a weenal colony

A weenal colony? Wasn't Australia a PENAL colony? :lol:

YES!! Fantastic. I will design our crests. . . . ..... :huh::lol:

The crest simply must feature Pieter and Tom's thumbs :lol: :lol:

Paddeigh- I hope you feel better :wub:

Well, a phew of us are feeling like bits of sh!t off yonder cliff. . .. . Patti, go wrap up in a BIG blankie and have a great sleep .. . . .hope you check in feeling much better tomorrow. :)

Hmmmm... .. .what, indeed, is a Weenal Colony.. . . . .

Weenal is a posited adjective form of Weenis, Soooozie's sudden, hilarious term for "penis" (if you have any interest in learning the ASL signage for this word, we have this available in our exhaustive thread, as well - - go back about 300 pages).

Since we, as an exclusive group here in The Pville, have been known to digress fairly regularly into such subject matter, Patti brilliantly referred to us a Weenal Colony.

Who is our Commanding Officer? General? Colonel? I should think it'd best be Ptaoughmghmn or POeter, since they actually own weenii. . . . ...

Emily :lol: x10

I think weenis colony just started................ yesterday?

:lol:

:blink:

......of a sentence.....yes

......of sex.......yes, as far as I'm concerned.....although I did know someone who did it only during that time as a form of birth control :unsure::ph34r:

So, today is bit of an anniversary for us. It was eight years ago today that we took over our original store. We were there for almost six years, before moving to our current location in September, 2006.

I have put up a new av which shows the remaining members of the original team. Click here to see the full-sized picture. Jacquie is holding Caramel, and Becky is in front of me. One of our part-timers took the picture this morning.

For the second year running, we have been voted 2008's "Best Pet Supply in North Toronto" by the readers of the North Toronto Post. The editor of the franchiser's internal magazine asked for the photo so she can include it with an item about us in the first 2009 edition. We're pretty happy about that! :)

Oh, Bev, so sorry about your pants. We have a great product here in the store that works very well on urine stains. :lol:

(speaking of which, my mom is so furious and sick of the Sisyphean hair-dye ordeal and cost that - GASP - last night she was thinking of stopping it all - - she IS goign to revert to dandelion head! :o )

Hi all! I must say I need to develop better resistance against being sucked up into the "vortex" of the sillyack post! I went back to search for the beginnings of Weenis Colony......I've come to the opinion that this posting no longer has a beginning and probably has no end. I'm subseqently developing a ritual of focusing on a page (can you say ooooohhhhhmmmmmm?), which requires me to go back, and go back, and time loses all meaning. Am supposed to like, sit a certain way? or perhaps there are ritualistic phrases that need to be said? Kow Tow (cow toe?) and bump my forhead on the ground?

You may yet find me in a fetal position without any connection to the real world. This must be the modern-day answer to transcendental meditation. :o:D

So....suddenly I realize I've been here much longer than my alloted time, and I really wanted to also catch up on the latest posts.....but...sniff, sniff, snuffle.

I'll pop back in tomorrow....and I think from now on I better just focus on the current events (even tho' previous posts are hilarious!) Later.......T

      Thanks again for the detailed explanation. Just to clarify, I actually did have my initial tests done while I was still consuming gluten. I stopped eating gluten only after those tests were completed, and it has now been about 70 days since I went gluten-free. I understand the limitations around diagnosing NCGS and the importance of antibody testing and biopsy for celiac disease. Unfortunately, where I live, access to comprehensive testing (including total IgA and endoscopy with biopsy) is limited, which makes things more complicated. Your explanation about small-bowel damage, nutrient absorption, and iron-deficiency anemia still aligns closely with my history, and it’s been very helpful in understanding what may be going on. I don't wanna get Endoscopy and I can't start eating Gluten again because it's hurt really with severe diarrhea.  I appreciate you taking the time to share such detailed and informative guidance. Thank you so much for this detailed and thoughtful response. I really appreciate you pointing out the relationship between anemia and antibody patterns, and how the high DGP IgG still supports celiac disease in my case. A gluten challenge isn’t something I feel safe attempting due to how severe my reactions were, so your suggestion about genetic testing makes a lot of sense. I’ll look into whether HLA testing is available where I live and discuss it with my doctor. I also appreciate you mentioning gastrointestinal beriberi and thiamine deficiency. This isn’t something any of my doctors have discussed with me, and given my symptoms and nutritional history, it’s definitely worth raising with them. I’ll also ask about correcting deficiencies more comprehensively, including B vitamins alongside iron. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and taking the time to help. I’ll update the forum as I make progress.
    • knitty kitty
      Blood tests for thiamine are unreliable.  The nutrients from your food get absorbed into the bloodstream and travel around the body.  So, a steak dinner can falsely raise thiamine blood levels in the following days.  Besides, thiamine is utilized inside cells where stores of thiamine are impossible to measure. A better test to ask for is the Erythrocyte Transketolace Activity test.  But even that test has been questioned as to accuracy.  It is expensive and takes time to do.   Because of the discrepancies with thiamine tests and urgency with correcting thiamine deficiency, the World Health Organization recommends giving thiamine for several weeks and looking for health improvement.  Thiamine is water soluble, safe and nontoxic even in high doses.   Many doctors are not given sufficient education in nutrition and deficiency symptoms, and may not be familiar with how often they occur in Celiac disease.  B12 and Vitamin D can be stored for as long as a year in the liver, so not having deficiencies in these two vitamins is not a good indicator of the status of the other seven water soluble B vitamins.  It is possible to have deficiency symptoms BEFORE there's changes in the blood levels.   Ask your doctor about Benfotiamine, a form of thiamine that is better absorbed than Thiamine Mononitrate.  Thiamine Mononitrate is used in many vitamins because it is shelf-stable, a form of thiamine that won't break down sitting around on a store shelf.  This form is difficult for the body to turn into a usable form.  Only thirty percent is absorbed in the intestine, and less is actually used.   Thiamine interacts with all of the other B vitamins, so they should all be supplemented together.  Magnesium is needed to make life sustaining enzymes with thiamine, so a magnesium supplement should be added if magnesium levels are low.   Thiamine is water soluble, safe and nontoxic even in high doses.  There's no harm in trying.
    • lizzie42
      Neither of them were anemic 6 months after the Celiac diagnosis. His other vitamin levels (d, B12) were never low. My daughters levels were normal after the first 6 months. Is the thiamine test just called thiamine?
    • knitty kitty
      Yes, I do think they need a Thiamine supplement at least. Especially since they eat red meat only occasionally. Most fruits and vegetables are not good sources of Thiamine.  Legumes (beans) do contain thiamine.  Fruits and veggies do have some of the other B vitamins, but thiamine B 1 and  Cobalamine B12 are mostly found in meats.  Meat, especially organ meats like liver, are the best sources of Thiamine, B12, and the six other B vitamins and important minerals like iron.   Thiamine has antibacterial and antiviral properties.  Thiamine is important to our immune systems.  We need more thiamine when we're physically ill or injured, when we're under stress emotionally, and when we exercise, especially outside in hot weather.  We need thiamine and other B vitamins like Niacin B 3 to keep our gastrointestinal tract healthy.  We can't store thiamine for very long.  We can get low in thiamine within three days.  Symptoms can appear suddenly when a high carbohydrate diet is consumed.  (Rice and beans are high in carbohydrates.)  A twenty percent increase in dietary thiamine causes an eighty percent increase in brain function, so symptoms can wax and wane depending on what one eats.  The earliest symptoms like fatigue and anxiety are easily contributed to other things or life events and dismissed.   Correcting nutritional deficiencies needs to be done quickly, especially in children, so their growth isn't stunted.  Nutritional deficiencies can affect intelligence.  Vitamin D deficiency can cause short stature and poor bone formation.   Is your son taking anything for the anemia?  Is the anemia caused by B12 or iron deficiency?
    • lizzie42
      Thank you! That's helpful. My kids eat very little processed food. Tons of fruit, vegetables, cheese, eggs and occasional red meat. We do a lot of rice and bean bowls, stir fry, etc.  Do you think with all the fruits and vegetables they need a vitamin supplement? I feel like their diet is pretty healthy and balanced with very limited processed food. The only processed food they eat regularly is a bowl of Cheerios here and there.  Could shaking legs be a symptom of just a one-time gluten exposure? I guess there's no way to know for sure if they're getting absolutely zero exposure because they do go to school a couple times a week. We do homeschool but my son does a shared school 2x a week and my daughter does a morning Pre-K 3 x a week.  At home our entire house is strictly gluten free and it is extremely rare for us to eat out. If we eat at someone else's house I usually just bring their food. When we have play dates we bring all the snacks, etc. I try to be really careful since they're still growing. They also, of course, catch kids viruses all the time so I  want to make sure I know whether they're just sick or they've had gluten. It can be pretty confusing when they're pretty young to even be explaining their symptoms!
