Kween Niknik....yer Royal Heinous!....I just adore your AV!!! :D

Don't want to talk about clothing sizes. Except that when they were made here, the sizes were more reliable. Now that they are made everywhere else....it's all a crapshoot! When I was wearing size 4 all I could find was clothing that looked like they should hve been thrown out before they got that bad! I hate clothes shopping (and having to try everything on), and at that point it reeeeeeally sucked! <_< Even shoes are not sized the same.

Your Royal Hanus!! You were an ADORABLE child .. . ....mygawd, a true Walmart photo frame model like I've never seen elsewhere!!

Crap, was I the only hideous baby 'round here??

Must search for a toddler pic... . ....at some point I am certain I grew out of hideousness, as I have not been totally unsightly for some time, now.

But when did it happen?. ....At age four? Eight? Think I remember looking somewhat normal in kindergarten, so I will see if that's when photographs started being taken of me. . . . ..

Hey! Jack just shared something with me, and it is somehow SO pertinent to us all, here.....I can just feel it.....

Gorillas purr.

:huh::huh:

Great trivia.......but what does it mean??

It could mean that you should probably get a gorilla to comfort you when migraine-stricken, Nik.. ..... . .imagine the vibration when one o' them starts purring?

:lol: How did you ever guess that, Jess? I believe his exact words, before proposing to me, were, "You know somethin', Em? You are the most non-unsightly woman I've ever known".. .. . ...

And he had me. . . ..........

Changed my av . . . the best I can do. I'm headed home in a couple of weeks. I know there was a pic of me when I was two and there was a pic of me in kindergarten. I'll see if my mom knows where either of those are.

How sad is that . . . I know of two pictures in existence of me under the age of 5.

Em . . . Oh yeah, I would have fallen for that line, too . . .

Can't say that I've ever tried on a pair of $100 jeans

I have! I have!! I found a pair of Donna Karan's at Value Village.....looked like they'd never been worn.....$7.99. So of course I bought 'em. Size 5, which is just crazy - - I am a 10. The cashier told me that they go for a hundred bucks, so quite a find. And on rare occasion, I get to be a size five! :rolleyes:B)

Just luuuurve The Village.......

curlyfries Contributor

I did find a pair of Seven jeans at a garage sale once.....have no idea what they sell for, though.

Crockpotting NOW?.........for dinner TONITE?.........At this point you'd be better off in a pot on the stove!........the stew.....not you :P

I have a pair of $100 jeans B)

Of course, I didn't pay nearly full price fer them.....they're the infamous Not Your Daughter's Jeans that are supposed to make someone at me advanced age look good in jeans. I have to say they do a pretty good job. They look like they're very fitted, but are really comfortable and soft  They do good things fer me giant arse...can't ask much more of a jean than that...... :P

A large department store (Boscov's) was closing several of their stores last year, and I got them on a good clearance. Had to get me regular size, though..... <_<

Dang......did it again and yeah I should admit I am 63 with clumsy phone thumbs. I started feeling better quickly and a doctor a year later said I had to eat  poison (gluten) every day for a month so he could formally diagnose me and NO FREAKING WAY. I couldn't then and can't imagine putting my body through that crap (no pun intended) on purpose ever again.  Why ingest poison for a month to have some doctor say Hey, All you Have To Do Is Never Eat poison Again..

15 years ago my best friend 'diagnosed' me as Celiac. Her little nephew had been formally diagnosed and her observations of me dealing with brain fog, stomach problems and other stuff had her convincing me to try going gluten free. Oh my heavens, within 3 days, no lie, I felt human again. Took me about a y

It seems like you have two choices--do a proper gluten challenge and get re-tested, or just go gluten-free because you already know that it is gluten that is causing your symptoms. In order to screen someone for celiac disease they need to be eating gluten daily, a lot of it--they usually recommend at least 2 slices of wheat bread daily for 6-8 weeks before a blood screening, and at least 2 weeks before an endoscopy (a colonoscopy is no used to diagnose celiac disease). Normally the blood panel is your first step, and if you have ANY positive results there for celiac disease the next step would be to take biopsies of your villi via an endoscopy given by a gastroenterologist.  More info on the blood tests and the gluten challenge beforehand is below: The article includes the "Mayo Clinic Protocol," which is the best overall protocol for results to be ~98% accurate. Here is more info about how to do a gluten challenge for a celiac disease blood panel, or for an endoscopy: and this recent study recommends 4-6 slices of wheat bread per day:   Not to discourage you from a formal diagnosis, but once you are diagnosed it may lead to higher life and medical insurance rates (things will be changing quickly in the USA with the ACA starting in 2026), as well as the need to disclose it on job applications. While I do think it's best to know for sure--especially because all of your first degree relatives should also get screened for it--I also want to disclose some negative possibilities around a formal diagnosis that you may want to also consider.

Yes.  Now, if you hit your finger with a hammer once, wouldn't you do your best not to do it again?  You have identified a direct connection between gluten and pain.  Gluten is your hammer.  Now you have to decide if you need a medical diagnosis.  Some countries have aid benefits tgat you can get if you have the diagnosis, but you must continue eating a gluten-normal diet while pursuing the diagnosis. Otherwise the only reason to continue eating gluten is social. There are over 200 symptoms that could be a result of celiac disease.. Celiac Disease and Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity  both cause multiple vitamin and mineral deficiency.  Dealing with that should help your recovery, even while eating gluten.  Phosphatidyl Choline supplements can help your gut if digesting fats is a problem,  Consider that any medications you take could be causing some of the symptoms, aside from gluten.
