Thersiilak-

You said a mothful. Before getting in the ciliac forum, I never spoke of such things as gas and poop! And now on this silliyack thing. I'm talking about a ton of things I wood never discuss with phamily or phriens. And I'm free to misspell my heart way! Nun-sence lifts my spirit

Problim is, it can get you in trouble. Ex..........I always thaught I was Irish, cause someone called me Gaelic. Then, I realized she/he misspelled it and meant to call me phaalic. So, I guess that make me English. Go figger.

I've got to bathe.

Halloo Sillyville <waving> :D

I have been "up north" til last eve, so am replying to old posts--may take a part deux or trois.

Taylor went up early wif me in-laws, so I took advantage of the rare opportunity to go shopping sans child....ahhh. Bought her some school clothes, but now have to exchange the ones that didn't fit <_<

Thanx to Momma Goose I had the chance to put my 2 cents in on the WIH page :D . 'Twas Sam who tweeked my interest to check out psillyvilli to begin with! I'm so glad!!

Hee-hee, me too (to both)!

CLOUDY SKY HERE TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! out of my MIND with joy, it's like I"m somewhere else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

must figger out what to do with self - dog park? dog walk? mow the lawn? run screaming through the house with joy? Put butter on me ice cream?

Snoozle--how wonderful B) Glad you got a break from the rays for a bit. I LURVE overcast days after a long run of sun.

So what did you do? Park the dog? Mow the walk? Walk the lawn?

OMG!!! PHAN-F*CKING-TASTIC SAM HILL MANHEAD AVATARS!! They have made my day..... . . .

Yes Em!! Aren't they awesome? :D Thx to Janet

I sent a message to my friend to inform him that his likeness was now being exploited shamelessly as my new manatar

he asked for a cut of the proceeds:huh::blink:

So yesterday someone was shot a few blocks from our house....what the heck is wrong with the world???

Yikes  That is scary :(

Love your av!!

I don't have a Sam Hill avatar because I don't have an avatar No images of me appear--maybe I don't exist??? Nevertheless I do steal Sam Hill when youse all are not looking

Shroomness...tsk-tsk. How much longer must we endure your egregious lack of visual?

Just took a closer look at my Samatar! I didn't realize he was quite so tall...his head brushes the ceiling!

You should see us together--I barely reach his waist

All right, we have exhausted the subject of trans-vaginal ultra-sounds here. I have another proceedure, equally invasive but likely not as undignified, to bring up and on which to get feedback: the infamous bone scan.

Who's had one? This will likely be happening here -- my foot is not improving to my satisfaction (um, haven't been resting it enough, it would seem <_< ), so I believe this is the next step.

Crap, don't like this idea -- radioactive material coursing through me, attaching to me bones?? Hell. . . . . ......

Emmel - 'tis no big deal! I had a bone scan of pelvis/hips/entire back for density check....'tweren't nothin!

just WHO is reigning monarch here now? Is it Geoss, of the Buttered Ice Cream?

GEOSS - I DEMAND that you DEMAND avs of Shroomie and Sleezen AT ONCE

and that, my friends, is the precise reason I am sure I cannot lose my 8 pounds

Qween Gee-oss, of de buttered ice cream -- pfft!

Yes!!! We must see U :o

And, Suze...about the 8 pounds--AS IF!!!

remember how that guy lost 8 pounds in that movie :o:unsure:

I don't pornogfaph well - kinda always look half dazed

I think the half dazed expression means you are doing it right ;)

Have gained 10 lbs. since going fluten-gree

"fluten-gree" Gah! Love Sue-zen's liber-tees wif the language :P

but my boobs decided not to return... have I done something to offend them? Or maybe they were gluten boobs and I'll never see them again!

Welcome jack-n-jillian!!

And what a great and phunny post, too-- gluten boobs

I have always felt the distinct discriminations of the ITBC...they kicked me out at 17 <_<

I'm 5' 8", so I weigh a bit more than you.........lost over 50 pounds, along wif me boobs and arse.........and, yeah........look like a 12 yr old boy

Lessee if I got this straight; change the chicken, water dead bird scattered over the livingroom, buy more cat food water, chase the neighbors dog dishes, laundry sweeping cat, hair everywhere--who threw up?; rug wash the shower, oh hell, just buy new weeds, recycling the cats...

Gah!!!!! Larphing me phat arse off :lol:

Definitely need new weeds. Mine don't seem to be working as well as one would hope.

More gah!!!

Max still isn't eating. Poor boy weighs almost nothing. And Lyle has a bad toof or sump'n. Was awake half the night waiting for Lyle to come home so's I could trap him inside for a few days until I can get him to the vet. Started him on antibiotics on Sat (which will get me yelled at by the vet, 'cause they weren't for him) but I had to do something to help him until he can get an appointment. Never seen him in so much pain, but the abx are finally helping. Not sure how I became the designated cat care co-op.

Oh Jess, I'm so sorry about your babies :( Buttercup had some tooth issues for along time--she worked away at them on the cabinet knob til they starting falling out

and her BREATH--ugh <greenpukeguy>

We eventually had to have all but about 2 teeth pulled. She was soooo happy to feel better, and started eating again for the first time in a longgg while. :)

Jillian- Welcome. I'm new too. Unlike celiac, the spelling never gets better.

Jess- I hope your animals get better. Nothing worse than sick kids or pets. So helpless.

My burning questioin is for Suzie. You say you live in a gaited community. Do you have a lot of gluten ataxia there? Lots of periphial neuropathy? Do you have an inordinate number of alcoholics (known to have problems with thier gait)? Are normal-gaited friends and loved ones allowed in? And, lastly but mostly and bestly, do the people who make the rules of configuation up realize that if you prohibited bycycles, You would have known that this boy was a normal gaited ruffian, would not have been allowed access, and saved you all that pain and suffragetting And ,BTW, are most of you're speeding tickets issued to people on scooters and motorized wheelchairs? Question from one who has never been wealthy enough to live in a gaited comm.

Sleezianna

Sleezen (reminds me of "sleestacks")--

you are heel-lairyous  So much good stuff here--gaited communitees and sufragetting! Gah!!!

<love the glam and magical stories of Shroomie's life>

I'm basically a squatter.

Hmmm...this could mean more than one thing, eh Suze? ;)

I love Shroomies stories too!

Sills--we were treated to the most beautiful night sky up at the cottage this weekend. I walked out on the porch and for some reason looked up. The sheer vastness of stars took my breath away :) The Milky Way was directly overhead and we saw several perseid meteors. Twas awesome.

I love this:

In the northern India state of Haryana, men outnumber women -- which gives brides-to-be a lot of leverage in the husband-finding game. The guys are finding it tough to bag a wife as it is, but now there's a phrase being bandied about by future mothers-in-law that makes things even harder: "No toilet, no bride."

What? You don't have a toilet? Sorry- NO DOWRY FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Raising you vitamin D will increase absorption of calcium automatically without supplementation of calcium.  A high PTH can be caused by low D causing poor calcium absorption; not insuffient calcium intake.  With low D your body is not absorbing calcium from your food so it steals it from your bones.  Heart has priority over bone. I've been taking 10,000 IU D3 a day since 2015.  My doctor says to continue. To fix my lactose intolerance, lots of lactobacillus from yogurts, and brine fermented pickles and saurkraut and olives.  We lose much of our ability to make lactase endogenosly with maturity but a healthy colony of lactobacillus in our gut excretes lactase in exchange for room and board. The milk protein in grass fed milk does not bother me. It tastes like the milk I grew up on.  If I drink commercial milk I get heartburn at night. Some experts estimate that 90% of us do not eat Adequite Intake of choline.  Beef and eggs are the principle source. Iodine deficiency is a growing concern.  I take 600 mcg a day of Liquid Iodine.  It and NAC have accelerated my healing all over.  Virtually blind in my right eye after starting antihypertensive medication and vision is slowly coming back.  I had to cut out starches because they drove my glucose up into the 200+ range.  I replaced them with Red Bull for the glucose intake with the vitamins, minerals and Taurine needed to process through the mitochodria Krebs Cycle to create ATP.  Went from A1c 13 down to 7.9.  Work in progress. Also take B1,B2,B3,B5,B6. Liquid Iodine, Phosphatidyl Choline, Q10, Selenium, D and DHEA.     Choline supplemented as phosphatidylcholine decreases fasting and postmethionine-loading plasma homocysteine concentrations in healthy men +

@catnapt, Wheat germ has very little gluten in it.  Gluten is  the carbohydrate storage protein, what the flour is made from, the fluffy part.  Just like with beans, there's the baby plant that will germinate  ("germ"-inate) if sprouted, and the bean part is the carbohydrate storage protein.   Wheat germ is the baby plant inside a kernel of wheat, and bran is the protective covering of the kernel.   Little to no gluten there.   Large amounts of lectins are in wheat germ and can cause digestive upsets, but not enough Gluten to provoke antibody production in the small intestines. Luckily you still have time to do a proper gluten challenge (10 grams of gluten per day for a minimum of two weeks) before your next appointment when you can be retested.

Hello, @asaT, I'm curious to know whether you are taking other B vitamins like Thiamine B1 and Niacin B3.  Malabsorption in Celiac disease affects all the water soluble B vitamins and Vitamin C.  Thiamine and Niacin are required to produce energy for all the homocysteine lowering reactions provided by Folate, Cobalamine and Pyridoxine.   Weight gain with a voracious appetite is something I experienced while malnourished.  It's symptomatic of Thiamine B1 deficiency.   Conversely, some people with thiamine deficiency lose their appetite altogether, and suffer from anorexia.  At different periods on my lifelong journey, I suffered this, too.   When the body doesn't have sufficient thiamine to turn food, especially carbohydrates, into energy (for growth and repair), the body rations what little thiamine it has available, and turns the carbs into fat, and stores it mostly in the abdomen.  Consuming a high carbohydrate diet requires additional thiamine to process the carbs into energy.  Simple carbohydrates (sugar, white rice, etc.) don't contain thiamine, so the body easily depletes its stores of Thiamine processing the carbs into fat.  The digestive system communicates with the brain to keep eating in order to consume more thiamine and other nutrients it's not absorbing.   One can have a subclinical thiamine insufficiency for years.  A twenty percent increase in dietary thiamine causes an eighty percent increase in brain function, so the symptoms can wax and wane mysteriously.  Symptoms of Thiamine insufficiency include stunted growth, chronic fatigue, and Gastrointestinal Beriberi (diarrhea, abdominal pain), heart attack, Alzheimer's, stroke, and cancer.   Thiamine improves bone turnover.  Thiamine insufficiency can also affect the thyroid.  The thyroid is important in bone metabolism.  The thyroid also influences hormones, like estrogen and progesterone, and menopause.  Vitamin D, at optimal levels, can act as a hormone and can influence the thyroid, as well as being important to bone health, and regulating the immune system.  Vitamin A is important to bone health, too, and is necessary for intestinal health, as well.   I don't do dairy because I react to Casein, the protein in dairy that resembles gluten and causes a reaction the same as if I'd been exposed to gluten, including high tTg IgA.  I found adding mineral water containing calcium and other minerals helpful in increasing my calcium intake.   Malabsorption of Celiac affects all the vitamins and minerals.  I do hope you'll talk to your doctor and dietician about supplementing all eight B vitamins and the four fat soluble vitamins because they all work together interconnectedly.

Hi Jane: You may want to try the D3 I now take. I have reactions to fillers and many additives. Sports Research, it is based in the USA and I have had no bad reactions with this brand. The D3 does have coconut oil but it is non GMO, it is Gluten free, Soy free, Soybean free and Safflower oil free.  I have a cupboard full of supplements that did not agree with me -  I just keep trying and have finally settled on Sports Research. I take NAKA Women's Multi full spectrum, and have not felt sick after taking 2 capsules per day -  it is a Canadian company. I buy both from Amazon. I wish you well in your searching, I know how discouraging it all is. Florence.

highly unlikely  NOTHING and I mean NOTHING else has ever caused me these kinds of symptoms I have no problem with dates, they are a large part of my diet In fact, I eat a very high fiber, very high vegetable and bean diet and have for many years now. It's considered a whole foods plant based or plant forward diet (I do now eat some lean ground turkey but not much) I was off dairy for years but recently had to add back plain yogurt to meet calcium needs that I am not allowed to get from supplements (I have not had any problem with the yogurt)   I eat almost no processed foods. I don't eat out. almost everything I eat, I cook myself I am going to keep a food diary but to be honest, I already know that it's wheat products and also barley that are the problem, which is why I gradually stopped eating and buying them. When I was eating them, like back in early 2024, when I was in the middle of moving and ate out (always had bread or toast or rolls or a sub or pizza) I felt terrible but at that time was so busy and exhausted that I never stopped to think it was the food. Once I was in my new place, I continued to have bread from time to time and had such horrible joint pain that I was preparing for 2 total knee replacements as well as one hip! The surgery could not go forward as I was (and still am) actively losing calcium from my bones. That problem has yet to be properly diagnosed and treated   anyway over time I realized that I felt better when I stopped eating bread. Back at least 3 yrs ago I noticed that regular pasta made me sick so I switched to brown rice pasta and even though it costs a lot more, I really like it.   so gradually I just stopped buying and eating foods with gluten. I stopped getting raisin bran when I was constipated because it made me bloated and it didn't help the constipation any more (used to be a sure bet that it would in the past)   I made cookies and brownies using beans and rolled oats and dates and tahini and I LOVE them and have zero issues eating those I eat 1 or more cans of beans per day easily can eat a pound of broccoli - no problem! Brussels sprouts the same thing.   so yeh it's bread and related foods that are clearly the problem  there is zero doubt in my mind
