Well, once again I have missed the Big Show from Oahu. Got into the store about a quarter to twelve, got the laptop set up, tried to connect to the beach camera about five to, and it would not load and Firefox crashed. Tried again, and Firefox did an encore performance. Tried to restart Windows, but it hung and did not shut down. Phinally pressed and held "power off" and rebooted cold, and it is working, but Jess is long gone. :angry:

I always thought US defininitions of midWEST were absolutely crazy Ohio to me is in the midEAST, and Kansas is in the midDLE, and Utah is in the midWEST and Alaska is the west (and also the Antarctice). Psills, I just went to the funeral of my 97 year-old aunt, the last of my mother's family (all ten of them) and fully compus mentus and still avidly supporting the local rugby team, and whilst I was gone the last of my father's family (six of them) died too (at 92, the baby ) So that means my parents' entire generation is gone It feels such a loss, somehow, because although I am left with what started out as 42 first cousins, we don't have anything in common any more and they seem (and are) total strangers to me. Thank goodness one can choose one's phriends.....

Sounds so much like my own. My Dad in among the youngest in a very large family, and many of them are still going (his family seemed to have longevity....or maybe they all just seemed old when I was a kid). One of my sisters is tossing about the idea of family reunion (we used to do this when "us" were young...but not in many, many years), and is having a good time trying to track down "the cousins" (also 40 something...I forget how many). Could be a heck of a crowd if it can be pulled off...a lot of us not only have chilluns..but gran'chilluns, too....and we are all over the country!

Cannot recall.. . ......man, I was looking at our globe, and did not realize until now how incredibly far away from all civilization those group of islands are.... . ..in the middle of the Pacific. I think Hawaii is actually closer to Japan than to the States!

Just threw a questionable-looking rump roast into trusty crockpot. Come six o'clock, I am hoping for a delectable, beefy masterpiece. Hope it does its magic!

Sills--I'm sore in places I didn't know I had Last night we started putting an epoxy finish on the garage floor.....what a production! We had to etch it first (did this on Sunday) and then wash. By last night it was dry, so we mixed up the first batch of the stuff and ended up getting the floor about 2/3 done. All the edging is done (by moi) and it really looks incredible.

We'll finish it up tonight, and since we have the apartment till the end of the month we won't have to park on it for almost 2 weeks. Today, I have more packing to do.....every time we go over there, we load up the car.

Does Jess go home today? How cool was seeing her yesterday?

Man I missed a lot. Not paying attention to the date of Jyess's show, I was excited that it's approaching 9am, but alas, that was yesterday wasn't it, and now I'm depressed I missed the phun!

We were at the beach all weekend. 16 family members sharing one house and a freezer-full of booze. Needless to say, I didn't do much yesterday AT ALL. Thank God for rain, couldn't bear to look at the sun My children learned a colorful new set of words, mostly revolving around the "F" word. I had to have multiple chats with them about appropriate language--sooooo praying ds doesn't drop an f-bomb at school today......

This reminds me of the time my two kids, around ages five and two, were downstairs arguing. Jack, only just beginning to talk in sentences, was giving Sophie regular hell for stepping on his Lego, or knocking his tower down.... . . . . ....I heard the yelling getting louder, back and forth, until Sophie suddenly screamed, "Oh, yah?? Well, EFF - YOO - KAY!!!"

The guy's mom was there and she very calmly looks over and said quietly "did he just say d%$#@#$bag?

When my dd was 4, we had just returned home from dinner with my potty-mouthed father. She walked in the house, accidently dropped her bag down the stairs and I heard "sh*t" My husband froze at the sink. Thinking I couldn't possible have heard her correctly I said, "Madeleine, WHAT did you say?" She said, "sh*t!" I said (louder), "What did you say?" Louder yet she said. "SH*T" Yelling now, I said "Madeleine Elizabeth WHAT DID YOU SAY?" yelling back now, annunciation every syllable, she said, "I----SAID---SH*T!!!!" My DH was doubled over at the sink laughing, and she turned the corner where I was and gave me a big smile, like, "you really wanted to know." I was trying so hard not to laugh while explaining to her papa has a foul mouth and she was not allowed to talk like him!!
