FIL called last night and has invited himself and MIL and BIL (that I haven't seen in 15 years) over . . . house hasn't been dusted since before Thanksgiving, still unpacking from the Christmas trip, pile of about 10 garbage bags full of quarentined stuff from the delousing stuff still located in the dining room . . . really looking forward to this visit <_<

Jyaghnutt's got TMJ! Methinks this stands for Too Much Junk, and yes, your in-laws can help you to clean it all up and out. Take those muscle relaxants NOW.....you will not care about the muddles and the dust. :rolleyes:

I was just contemplating something... . . ....I think I will try one of those useless Bumpits, currently sitting in a back bathroom drawer, underneath my boobs. Now THIS may work....... ..

Hope yesterday was terrific for everyone. Today is the Ripper's THIRTEENTH birthday. He awoke this morning with his first zit, right inside his nostril. Good and bad: 'tis tough to get to, but not easily seen. I must relay that one of the first things Jack said as he was trying to see it in the mirror, and I stood behind him commenting on how fortuitous it was, having a first zit appear on the day of passage into teenage-hood, was "Whoa. .. . .. ......you need to tell the Psillies about this".....

I have one in the same spot, hurts to move my face!!

My worst gift EVER? A little ice scraper for my windshield, and actually, if that is the worst I can come up with, I think I'm one lucky goil..... . .it's pretty useful 'round here right now... . . ....

I've washed the same load of whites 3x now because they've been in there for a week and I can't seem to get them in the dryer. You can barely get into my bathroom because the laundry basket has purged itself all over the floor in disgust!

Actually I've already been diagnosed.........but my biggest issue is a SEVERE stabbing pain. Luckily, it doesn't happen too often.

We are in quite a quandry over New Year's.

We have been going to a friend's house every New Year's Eve for years. It's a tradition. This year we have also been invited to another friend's party. The same place we went for Halloween. He has hired these people from a dinner theater murder mystery to perform, then dancing after that. So do we stick with tradition? Split our time between the two? And if we do that........do we attend the dinner/murder mystery part (which I probably won't be able to eat), or the dancing part?

I would laugh till I peed my pants if someone said this to me. If you are someone who takes pleasure in either cleaning, or a clean house, more power to you. I, however, prefer to deal with the mess by simply going somewhere else so I don't have to see it. It all just gets messy again, why do anything?

Jess, you are invited to come to my house anytime you want . . . :lol:

They lasted 45 minutes. Right before they came over, my FIL called to say BIL is allergic to dogs . . . poor JoDog, she really enjoys company . . . so after 45 minutes, BIL could no longer breathe. I did vacuum up the dog hair tumble weeds that were blowing through the kitchen prior to their arrival but there are layers upon layers of dog hair here . . . just no way to get rid of it all . . . probably stirred it all up during the vacuuming, too. Oh well, the house is a tad cleaner because they came.

Jan-it, I'm glad to hear yer dentist concurred wif our diagnosis :P

I also phind that a warm compress helps, as well as gentle massage on the joints.

Ah, bless his heart. He is planning on being a busy lad! Just hand him his "mother's little helper" tools every Saturday morning and say "Thank you so much dear!". :lol:

My sister gave us a ceramic pukeko (native. colorful, . semi-wading bird) which has red iron legs (two) and there are three!!! holes in the bottom of the bird for you to figure out how he is supposed to stand. Of course you nae can have him standing inside unless very!!! deep pile carpet, so next problem is where to put 'im outside where the wind wont blow the poor wee fellow away on his long red stilty legs which just insert somehow into his body :o In our climate I will need to glue them in and tie him down, I reckon. For example, when I started this it was a calm sunny morning; now there is rain spattering on the windows and the wood pigeon on the telephone wire is clinging on for dear life in the face of a howling south-wester :rolleyes:

T'is cruise ship season, and every other day another unsuspecting shipload of visitors disgorges on our shores, not knowing wotinell to expect. Yesterday, the Vollendam with 2000 passengers descended on poor wee Stewart Island, way down at the bottom (nearest the Antarctic) and this same southerly bluster greeted them. At least Oban is on the leeward side. All 600 residents set out to make these folks feel welcome and enjoy the wonders of a pristine environment, and apparently a good time was had by all (pictures on telly of Americans eating crayfish and fish and chips, and of a lone 13-year-old lad serenading them ashore from the tender with his ukelele singing a slightly out-of-tune song--quite sweet really :rolleyes: )

      You're right, doctors usually only test Vitamin D and B12. Both are really important, but they're not good indicators of deficiencies in the other B vitamins. Our bodies are able to store Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D in the liver for up to a year or longer. The other B vitamins can only be stored for much shorter periods of time. Pyridoxine B 6 can...

When I was first diagnosed with celiac disease (silent), the vitamin levels my doctor did test for were mostly within normal range (lower end) with the exception of vitamin D. I believe he tested D, B12, magnesium, and iron. I wondered how it was possible that I had celiac disease...

      Segments of the protein Casein are the same as segments of the protein strands of gluten, the 33-mer segment. The cow's body builds that Casein protein. It doesn't come from wheat. Casein can trigger the same reaction as being exposed to gluten in some people. This is not a dairy allergy (IGE mediated response). It is not lactose intolerance...

      Wheatwacked, what exactly did you intend when you stated that wheat is incorporated into the milk of cows fed wheat? Obviously, the gluten would be broken down by digestion and is too large a molecule anyway to cross the intestinal membrane and get into the bloodstream of the cow. What is it from the wheat that you are saying becomes incorporated into the...

      Wheat in cow feed would not equal gluten in the milk, @Wheatwacked, please back up extraordinary claims like this with some scientific backing, as I've never heard that cow's milk could contain gluten due to what the cow eats.

      You're right, doctors usually only test Vitamin D and B12.  Both are really important, but they're not good indicators of deficiencies in the other B vitamins.  Our bodies are able to store Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D in the liver for up to a year or longer.  The other B vitamins can only be stored for much shorter periods of time.  Pyridoxine B 6 can be stored for several months, but the others only a month or two at the longest.  Thiamine stores can be depleted in as little as three days.  There's no correlation between B12 levels and the other B vitamins' levels.  Blood tests can't measure the amount of vitamins stored inside cells where they are used.  There's disagreement as to what optimal vitamin levels are.  The Recommended Daily Allowance is based on the minimum daily amount needed to prevent disease set back in the forties when people ate a totally different diet and gruesome experiments were done on people.  Folate  requirements had to be updated in the nineties after spina bifida increased and synthetic folic acid was mandated to be added to grain products.  Vitamin D requirements have been updated only in the past few years.   Doctors aren't required to take as many hours of nutritional education as in the past.  They're educated in learning institutions funded by pharmaceutical corporations.  Natural substances like vitamins can't be patented, so there's more money to be made prescribing pharmaceuticals than vitamins.   Also, look into the Autoimmune Protocol Diet, developed by Dr. Sarah Ballantyne, a Celiac herself.  Her book The Paleo Approach has been most helpful to me.  You're very welcome.  I'm glad I can help you around some stumbling blocks while on this journey.    Keep me posted on your progress!  Best wishes! I believe he tested D, B12, magnesium, and iron.  I wondered how it was possible that I had celiac disease without being deficient in everything!  I’m wondering now if I have subclinical vitamin deficiencies as well, because even though I remain gluten free, I struggle with insomnia, low energy, body aches, etc.  It’s truly frustrating when you stay true to the gluten-free diet, yet feel fatigued most days. I’ll definitely try the B-complex, and the Benfotiamine again, and will keep you posted. Thanks once again!
