Khar-in...especially if you were sick for a while before starting the diet, it's gonna take longer but youse off to a good start--and you have us to keep ya company :D

Thanks. I'm enjoying the company.

Slept like a log last night--had the whole bed to meselph :P

Hub used to go out of town for work but doesn't anymore. Still camps out with Boy Scouts so gone occasionally. Love not having to push his extra pillows off my face so I can breathe.

Hmmmm.... perhaps it was another Bev like Open Original Shared Link the Bevs I know are bodybuilders, opera singers and frumpy, grumpy old ladies!

Oh, thank GAWD. I've often wondered why we get no Moderator Activity amongst our thread. Pre-approval. .. . . .man, sounds like executive class er sumfin'.. .... . ...a Psilly post hits the Moderator screen, a few heads are put together...."Oh, it's one o' THEM".... . . ......and it gets pushed through.

Actually, we've got all the Mods participating here, anyway... ..... . ...Patteigh, how does it feel to screen your own posts?

Almost forgot: I have healed me gut in record time! According to my GI, sm intestines heal completely in 7=10 days. Don't need to worry about those annoying large doses of vitamins because I can now absorb normally. Ain't it amazing? Miraculous!

JoDog hates vacuums . . . She won't even eat if I've been vacuuming and have left the vacuum cleaner too close to her food bowl (and by too close, I mean within 10 feet). Sometimes she can't get to her bowl because she would have to step over the cord to the vacuum (or even just walk next to it). Sometimes we use the vacuum to block her into the "office" when we have someone over that doesn't like dogs . . . works as good as a baby gate.

Poor JoDog!

Weez has never hated vacuums....pays very little attention when I use the device, nor does Kit......and she didn't hate the Shop Vac until Monday

Pretty sure all large, flying objects that hurtle forward and knock her out window of car are rather terrifying

Trying to sum up all the ones I missed:

AT&T, Cable/Sky TV, Dentist - evil & annoying

Oven door - my microwave door just broke - is it catching?

Lisa - annoyed me sis Lisa by calling her Lee-Lee

Skating - wow!

Dog nose - Ow!

Strange post - possessed

Anything I missed - sorry, nothin personal

 absolutely brilliant summaries

and a healed gut? in 10 days? WHOT? well, yes, GRAND MARNIER this instant!!!!!!!!!!!!

My little Allo always hated the vacuum--he'd slither out of the room as soon as it came out of the closet. Hated the thing!

As I left this morning Lefty was staring fixedly at the vacuum cleaner in my room. I moved the thing a little mouse ran out (and into my heater(which is off)). Not sure what I'll find when I get home.... :o:blink:

Hit "reply" at the bottom of the post you want to quote. When it appears in the reply box, you can then delete any parts of it you don't want in the quote box.

If you want to quote more than one post, as you read hit "multi quote" (next to "reply") for each post you want to quote and then hit "add reply" as usual. All of the posts will then appear in the reply box.

 This suddenly made me think of MY gastroenterologist who diagnosed me - - a very funny little man (probably 5'3") with a huge head, big moustache, walks around his clinic in bright orange crocs.. ....I am picturing him being sainted, and adorned in all of the saintly ornaments and attire. Hmm... . do saints wear big, flowing robes? Mitres? This would be most becoming on him.

AND.. . .. ....his first name is Joseph. So, he was my GI Joe.

Better news on the angiogram, Gnickkers!

Grand Marnier! Grand Marnier!

I lay down on my bed about a half-hour ago with my eyes closed, as I wanted to see if I could manage three days like this. After twenty minutes I could no longer stand it - - too many things were calling to me. So, I got up and decided to keep my eyes closed over the next hour whilst I tried to manoever my way around the kitchen with all the dinner prep, insulin delivery, homework helping, etc.

Nope. There is NO WAY. I was walking into tables, walls and animals, reaching for things that weren't even close... . . and don't even ASK about the attempt at chopping up salad ingredients. <_<

BUT, the most interesting thing that happened was this: the doorbell rang, and I felt my way to the front door. Opening it, I had no idea who was there as my eyes were shut. There was just silence, and the cold winter air.

I said "Uh, hello?"

More silence. Finally,

"Good afternoon. I'm, uh... . . . .. Ben from the Kidney Foundation.. .. ....."

Well, he did not stick around. I didn't even have a chance to give him a donation. Just stood with my eyes closed, and he left. Probably quickly.

Regardless, my eyes are obviously now open, as I couldn't stand three days away from the internet. I suppose I lasted about 50 minutes.

Give me those endless red lights!

Obviously, you did this all wrong. When my eyes are glued shut for 3 days, I will have a rope to follow to get me to the bathroom. I will have a cooler full of drinks close to the bed along with snacks. I will have the phone and a TV and radio to listen to. I do not plan to take a shower or change my clothes . . . I also do not plan on feeding any children, helping with any homework, doing any laundry . . . or driving. You gotsta plan for things like this.

Nice job getting rid of the solicitor

By the way, Em, I was at Wal-Mart today and was passing through the photo frames section. I looked for you.

She's on my nightstand. So very beautiful!

Why is it that men can fart and it's no big deal (to them), but it is considered unacceptable for women under 10 years old? My stomach is making the most hideous noises right now and anyone within 15 feet of me can hear it and must know what needs to be done, yet I sit here with an upset stomach and perma-flexed cheeks to prevent the "unthinkable" <_<

Tis not fair!

This is likely a sure-fire method for getting door-to-door salespeople to scatter. Stand before them with your eyes closed, say little. It absolutely worked for me.

You just hafta get yourself TO the door.

@catnapt,  Wheat germ contains high amounts of lectins which are really hard to digest and can be irritating to the digestive tract.  They can stimulate IgG antibody production as your blood test shows.   Even beans have lectins.  You've simply eaten too many lectins and irritated your digestive tract.   You may want to allow your digestive tract to rest for a week, then start on gluten in "normal" food, not in concentrated vital wheat gluten. This explains it well: Lectins, agglutinins, and their roles in autoimmune reactivities https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25599185/

I take Now B-1 (100 mg) Thiamine Hydrochloride, and Amazing Formulas L-Tryptophan (1000 mg).   Both are gluten free and free of other allergens.  I've taken them for a long time and haven't had a problem with them. I take Vitamin A from BioTech called "A-25".  It's gluten and allergen free and made in the USA.  It's a powder form of Vitamin A.  I was having trouble digesting fats at one point, but found I tolerated the powder form much better and have stuck with it since.   Tryptophan and Vitamin A help heal the intestines as well as improves skin health.  I get Dermatitis Herpetiformis and eczema flairs when my stomach is upset.  So I'm healing the outside as well as the inside.   I take one 1000 mg Tryptophan before bedtime.   With the Thiamine HCl, take 100 mg to start.  If you don't notice anything, three hours later take another. You can keep increasing your dose in this manner until you do notice improvement.  Remember not to take it in the evening so it won't keep you too energized to sleep. When I first started Thiamine HCl, taking 500 mg to 1000 mg to start was recommended.  If you've been thiamine insufficient for a while, you do notice a big difference.  It's like the start of a NASCAR race: Zoom, Zoom, turn it up!   This scared or made some people uncomfortable, but it's just your body beginning to function properly, like putting new spark plugs in your engine.  I took 1000 mg all at once without food.  It kicked in beautifully, but I got a tummy ache, so take with food.  I added in Thiamine TTFD and Benfotiamine weeks later and felt like I was Formula One racing.  So cool.  You may feel worse for a couple days as your body adjusts to having sufficient thiamine.  Feels sort of like you haven't cranked your engine for a while and it backfires and sputters, but it will settle down and start purring soon enough.  Adjust your dose to what feels right for you, increasing your dose as long as you feel improvement.  You can reach a plateau, so stay there for several days, then try bumping it up again.  If no more improvements happen, you can stay at the plateau amount and experiment with increasing your Thiamine TTFD.  It's like being your own lab rat.  LoL Yes, take one Benfotiamine at breakfast and one at lunch.  Take the B Complex at breakfast. Take the TTFD at breakfast and lunch as well.  I like to take the vitamins at the beginning of meals and the NeuroMag at the end of meals.   You may want to add in some zinc.  I take Thorne Zinc 30 mg at breakfast at the beginning of the meal.   Are you getting sufficient Omega Threes?  Our brains are made up mostly of fat.  Flaxseed oil supplements, sunflower seed oil supplements (or eat the seeds themselves) can improve that.  Cooking with extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil, or coconut oil is also helpful.   @Wheatwacked likes phosphotidyl choline supplements for his Omega Threes.  He's also had dramatic health improvement by supplementing thiamine.  You're doing great!  Thank you for sharing your journey with us.  This path will smooth out.  Keep going!
    • catnapt
good luck! vital wheat gluten made me violently ill. I will touch the stuff ever again.
    • catnapt
I wouldn't consider this lucky. I can NOT tolerate the symptoms. And I googled it and I was not even getting 10 grams of gluten per day and I was extremely ill. They'd have to put me in the hospital. I'm not kidding.   I will have my first appt with a GI dr on March 4th   I will not eat gluten again - at least not on purpose   they are going to have to come up with a test that doesn't require it.
    • xxnonamexx
What Thiamine Hydrochloride brand do you take? Is it like the other vitamins I have added? What brand Tryptophan and amount do you take. Thanks
