That can't be right - I'm not that old!

On the other hand......

just took the RealAge test and they told me not to worry about my real age, just count my blessings I'm still here

Hey, I'm not dead yet.

kareng Grand Master

I'm afraid to take the real age test. I' m sure I'm at least 73.

hmmm, it told me I need to eat more grains.

... .. This is my MIL talking, staring at me across the kitchen table, eyes narrowed, lips in a thin line... . . . ...<_<

.... I need to get a dog and to spend more time on myself.

.. . ..Well, two things MIL would never say to me.. .. ..

OMG. . . .. ....DD just came running up the stairs. She's come from her bedroom where she was lying in bed, browsing through FB on her ipod. There is apparently an application within FB called "Nearby Places", and it shows you, quite literally, commercial shops, restaurants and places of interest that are within a few miles' radius of where you are. She typed in our address and waited for a list.

Up came the gas station on the corner, the nearby college, the nearby museum, and at the bottom of the list.... . . . ...

"My bed".

She leaped out of her bed, yelling all the way up the stairs "Aaaaaaagh! How did it know I was in my BED??!"

How DID it know?

She is in the kitchen now. .. . . ... ..we'll see what listing comes up. . ....

elye Community Regular

GAH!

The bottom listing is now "My Kitchen".. . . ....!!!

WHOT IN HELL?

Gotta go check this app out.. . . . .......but NOT whilst I'm goin' to the bathroom.. . . . .....

Jestgar Rising Star

*snort!* Or in someone else's bed.

How DID it know?

:o Woah! Just how did it know????

If I can phigure it out, I gotta try this on me IPod....

DD has just informed me that, in fact you do NOT type in any location. Um, it just knows from where you are searching........

There is obviously a type of embedded GPS er sumfin'... . .. . ...

But OMG.... .. .. ..it knows. Where. I. AM. In. My. House.

Who is running this thing, anyways? They got li'l cameras? Li'l spies??. . .. .....

Tried to find in on da book. I couldn't find it and it's not finding me! :P

jerseyangel Proficient

I could nae phind it either....

kareng Grand Master

I see a reverse application for this "finder". My boys have gps to locate the phones but it only tells me approximately which house they are in. Using this technology from fb, it could tell me "in girls bed" " in garage beer fridge" "in basement playing video games cause they couldn't get any girls or beer"

nikki-uk Enthusiast

Yeah, i've seen the 'find places' but have declined thus far (only certain browsers are doing it so far)

Do I really want the world to know where I am?? unsure.gif ....must look into this...

OK,.... you know how you can get complacent about the whole gluten-free thing, and kind of forget how serious it was (IS)??

Tel (for the first time since dx ....oh 6 yrs ago) tried REAL porridge oats yesterday (not millet!)

They were verified gluten-free - grown AND milled seperately from any wheat source.

Less than 5 ppm.

Holy heck - NEVER have I seen such an extreme reaction ohmy.gif

2 hrs after he got the 'fire hydrants'

...then the vomiting like the exorcist started sad.gif (Just tell me if it's tmi!)

I have read for some cOeliacs, their immune system mistakes the protein 'Avenin' in oats as Gluten?

He's ok today - just a lingering headache wacko.gif

THE most extreme reaction Iz EVAH seen in him!!!!

jerseyangel Proficient

Oye Nik--for Tel, the oats were probably the same as eating a bowl of wheat and thus the dramatic reaction. :( He's one of the unlucky ones (as am I) who can nae tolerate oats--even the pure kind. This condition is so freakin frustrating sometimes....what works fer one doesn't necessarily work for another <_<

Hope he pheels better as the day goes on :)

Gnick! Poor Tel... . . . . ....how awful for the two of you. I seem okay with oats labelled gluten-free....I'm a lucky one. But I think DH reacts to them, so I cannot be throwing them into baking recipes, hamburger, etc.

Hmm...... .. wonder if FB Places could tell me where my keys and/or sunglasses are? Or where in hell those two socks are, the ones that are mates to those odd two that came out of this morning's wash... . . . . . ...

<_<

Ummmm . . . . . . I think they are here . . . We have many many socks here that don't match anything.

kareng Grand Master

We have a black ankle style men's sock with 3 small white stripes. No one in our family has ever had any like this. Does it belong to you?

No, I do not have the mate to this sock.. . . . ..however, FB Places told me that it is behind your couch.

Then it went on to tell me that this pair of socks belongs to Angela's boyfriend (our urinating friend, I assume).

Facebook can be an amazing place, methinks!

Angela never responded. :(

If she thinks I'm odd, what kinda person puts a pee jug on the Internet?

Well, I think we know why she has not responded NOW..... . ... .. ..hell, her boyfriend's sock is behind your couch! Now, wouldn't anybody be just a little...well... .... ... . . suspicious? Somewhat....reluctant to befriend a woman who is in possession of their partner's thrown-off apparel?

Kherrighnne, you need to message her - - explain everything. Whatever the story is... . .no one here needs to know. Just mend the fences.

And since she is in Newfoundland, you can courier her the boyfriend's sock inexpensively. He may really want it back.

I'm afraid if message her again, she will call the police, or FBI or who ever is in charge of international cyber stalking. Thank goodness this web site never erases any old posts. I can show them we were all in this together! Think we could be cell mates?

Sheesh, glad I didn't get involved in this international crime ring

All right. Let's look at this photo again.

3901006067_56e8551a64.webp

Now, WHAT is that black thing in the lower left corner? Look closely... . ... . .....

It's a sock.

Methinks a short, man's sock.

What does this mean??

elye Community Regular

Wait....it's a fairly big black pile......it is a pair of black socks.

So I think that FB Places is full of crap.... . . .. . .in fact, that errant black sock behind your couch, Kherrighnne, does NOT belong to Angela's boyfriend. He's got both of them! We can clearly see them, in Angela's hospital room. He must have been visiting her, and took his socks off to trim his nails.

Gawd, I'm SO glad I figured all this out.

Jeesh--me too :o

Although, I am greatly amused by all the FBI/sock talk :P

Well pholks.....so much fer a brand new apartment    The dryer isn't working right and we got home tonight and the fridge/freezer wasn't working. Had to toss some stuff and Mark took some to his office where there is a fridge. I'm mopping up the soggy mess now <_<

Not the only screw up, we phound out today either. They got some 'splanin to do....

If black seed oil is working for his Afib, stick to it, but if not, I can say that ablation therapy is no big deal--my mother was out of the procedure in about 1 hour and went home that evening, and had zero negative effects from the treatment. PS - I would recommend that your husband get an Apple watch to monitor his Afib--there is an app and it will take readings 24/7 and give reports on how much of the time he's in it. Actual data like this should be what should guide his treatment.

This happened to me as well. What’s weirder is that within a couple hours of taking paxlovid it subsided. I thought maybe I got glutened but after reading your post not so sure.

Hi Tiffany. Thank you for writing your dituation and  circumstancesin such detail and so well writte, too. I particularly noticed what you wrote about brain for and feeling like your brain is swelling and I know from my own experiences that's how it feel and your brain really does swell and you get migraines.    Way back when I was in my 20s I read a book by 2 MD allergist and they described their patient who came in complaining that her brain, inside her cranium, was swelling  and it happened when she smelled a certain chemical she used in her home. She kept coming back and insisting her brain actually swelled in her head. The Drs couldn't explain this problem so they, with her permission, performed an operation where they made a small opening through her cranium, exposed her to the chemical then watched as she brain did swell into the opening. The DRs were amazed but then were able to advise her to avoid chemicals that made her brain swell. I remember that because I occasionally had brain fog then but it was not a serious problem. I also realized that I was becoming more sensitive to chemicals I used in my work in medical laboratories. By my mid forties the brain fog and chemicals forced me to leave my  profession and move to a rural area with little pollution. I did not have migraines. I was told a little later that I had a more porous blood brain barrier than other people. Chemicals in the air would go up into my sinused and leak through the blood brain barrier into my brain. We have 2 arteries  in our neck that carry blood with the nutrients and oxygen into the brain. To remove the fluids and used blood from the brain there are only capillaries and no large veins to carry it away so all those fluids ooze out much more slowly than they came in and since the small capillaries can't take care of extra fluid it results in swelling in the face, especially around the eyes. My blood flow into my brain is different from most other people as I have an arterial ischema, adefectiveartery on one side.   I have to go forward about 20 or more years when I learned that I had glaucoma, an eye problem that causes blindness and more years until I learned I had celiac disease.  The eye Dr described my glaucoma as a very slow loss of vision that I wouldn't  notice until had noticeable loss of sight.  I could have my eye pressure checked regularly or it would be best to have the cataracts removed from both eyes. I kept putting off the surgery then just overnight lost most of the vision in my left eye. I thought at the I had been exposed to some chemical and found out a little later the person who livedbehind me was using some chemicals to build kayaks in a shed behind my house. I did not realize the signifance  of this until I started having appointments with a Dr. in a new building. New buildings give me brain fog, loss of balance and other problems I know about this time I experienced visual disturbances very similar to those experienced by people with migraines. I looked further online and read that people with glaucoma can suffer rapid loss of sight if they have silent migraines (no headache). The remedy for migraines is to identify and avoid the triggers. I already know most of my triggers - aromatic chemicals, some cleaning materials, gasoline and exhaust and mold toxins. I am very careful about using cleaning agents using mostly borax and baking powder. Anything that has any fragrance or smell I avoid. There is one brand of dishwashing detergent that I can use and several brands of  scouring powder. I hope you find some of this helpful and useful. I have not seen any evidence that Celiac Disease is involved with migraines or glaucoma. Please come back if you have questions or if what I wrote doesn't make senseto you. We sometimes haveto learn by experience and finding out why we have some problems. Take care.       The report did not mention migraines.

Hi Jmartes71 That is so much like my story! You probably know where Laytonville is and that's where I was living just before my 60th birthday when the new Dr. suggested I could have Celiacs. I didn't go on a gluten challange diet before having the Celiac panel blood test drawn. The results came back as equivical as one antibody level was very high but another, tissue transaminasewas normal. Itdid show I was  allergic to cows milk and I think hot peppers. I immediately went gluten free but did not go in for an endoscopy. I found an online lab online that would do the test to show if I had a main celiac gene (enterolab.com). The report came back that I had inherited a main celiac gene, DQ8, from one parent and a D!6 from the other parent. That combination is knows to sym[tons of celiac worse than just inheriting one main celiac gene. With my version of celiac disease I was mostly constipated but after going gluten-free I would have diarrhea the few times I was glutened either by cross contamination or eating some food containing gluten. I have stayed gluten-free for almost 20 years now and knew within a few days that it was right for me although my recovery has been slow.   When I go to see a  medical provide and tell them I have celiacs they don't believe me. The same when I tell them that I carry a main celiac gene, the DQ8. It is only when I tell them that I get diarrhea after eating gluten that they realize that I might have celiac disease. Then they will order th Vitamin B12 and D3 that I need to monitor as my B12 levels can go down very fast if I'm not taking enough of it. Medical providers haven't been much help in my recovery. They are not well trained in this problem. I really hope this helps ypu. Take care.
