Those are all great!! . . . but ride the broomstick is the clear winner.

I agree with "Riding the Broomstick" - shall we take a vote?

Ok, definitely going to bed now....just had to share this FAB ad with yooz

Hope you can open the link ..... youtube sometimes have peculiar rules over which country can view certain things dry.gif

(Jess, I KNEW it was Heathrow instantly!)

LOVE IT!!!!!!

Take a look at this. :)

A couple of pros came to our club last weekend and taught us this exact routine. We're gonna do the same thing sometime here in Indy :D

Well....my two weeks off absolutely suuuucked <_<

Started with having the 2 cysts removed from me head....did I mention that? Can't remember.

Then the accident....DD's car was totaled, btw, so we had to find her a new one :o

THEN everybody (but me, thank gawd) got the stomach flu ....seen enough puke to last a lifetime :(

I need a vacation

Just got home from dinner. No words. Just good. I'd be smiling if I had the energy. Gotta study, and my instructor from Math 308 agreed to tutor me in calculus so another smile goes here. And I think I got invited for thanksgiving dinner, so I'll have to figure out what kind of face that gets. I didn't accept. Have to think about it. Daughter makes dinner for the whole family so I'd meet everyone at once, including the ex. Definitely have to think about it.

Have an amazing morning y'all. or whatever time o' day it is.

After you think about it, go. :D I have a good pheeling.....

Just a quick hi--I'm at me son's on the world's slowest computer. The multi quote has taken me 15 minutes  Had to see what was happenin' here though....

We saw a black bear walking next to the highway on the way down here--Mark called and reported it and hopefully they got someone out there before he wandered into the traffic.

A Bev sighting!! :D And "the story of Bev'd" :D

Be back later....

I had to have 4 surgeries to replace receding gum lines (they used cadaver gums - boy did that ever give Clark a lot of material to freak me out). I chose to use the cadaver gums because I had heard the skin grafting hurt worse than the procedure.

Wow.. . . . Low-eeee.. . .. ....that is rather spooky, fitting in well with all this other Hallowe'en talk. 'Tis funny, cadaver gums being surgically inserted would bother me considerably more than having a cadaver heart or kidney installed....wonder why. I suppose because it's....like, in yer mouth. . . . ... . ... .

Crap, Leeeesargh, do you ever. :( Loved the video.. . . and I would love to watch you in one of these impromptu dances. .. .

Go, Jyessss! And talk about us. Constantly. <_<

I was going to say go for it until the ex part came up. But it might be amicable. It's definitely a sign that you're special to him for him to invite you. RELATIONSHIP!!!!!!!!!

Had a great time at the Bates Haunted Motel. It was small so it only took about 20 minutes. Superman jumped and yelled a few times (me too). At one point someone got sawed in half and guts fell out (he was obviously in a box). They let 4 people in at a time and we were in with a young girl and her father. She got really scared. The Penitentiary was definitely better last year but it was great to get out of the house.

Then we came home and "did the deed, jumped the broomstick, or had our gluten-free cake and ate it too." The last time was the night our son left for college (August 28th) and it was WAAAAAAY too long ago. Won't let that happen again.

After that we watched "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown."

Yes, cadaver gums creeped me out at first but as I said the alternative was extremely painful.

Clark wants me to come to bed so I'll be back tomorrow.

Happy Halloweeeeeen to all tomorrow and to all a good night! ARRRR - dressing up as a modified pirate for when I answer the door.

HAPPY ALL HALLOWS' EVE, PSILLIES!

jack1a3_KWFLR9.gif

Back at you all my dear psillies!!!!!!

You are not going to believe this (or perhaps you are). I was putting the last part of my costume on and slipped off my chair smack onto the side of the face I had hurt. Hubby is going out for crazy glue to fix my glasses (only pair I have that covers the bruise - need a new pair as I had scratched d a god pair when I fell in Point Judith (before I knew about Ataxia) and I don't want to use my good pair because I'll be screwed if I had anything happens to them. So I'll have to get a new pair of backup glasses as soon as I pay off my credit card next month. I use progressive bifocals that also turn into sunglasses and they're VERY expensive. I KNOW I should go to the ER but I don't have a headache and I also don't want to miss the trick or treaters. I promise to go tomorrow!!!! I am just so sick of this and really angry at myself. i guess it's better that it's the same side.I also see an EAP counsellor (they deal with transitions from moving, unemployment, illness, etc) through my husband's company and I get 8 free sessions. My old therapist from home told me to be careful about what I tell her because she works for my husband's company not for me and there is no patient confidentiality until I begin sessions with my new therapist (not EAP) in 6 weeks. Do you know anything about this? I canceled last week's appointment and told her my son gave me a cold. My husband is the sweetest, kindest man and I don't want anything to go into his records. Thanks for all of the support. Right now I'm managing to multitask and put ice on it while I type. Also, the last fall made it hard to read and this one hasn't affected my vision. I think the glasses breaking saved me some trauma.

Loey mad.gifmad.gifmad.gifmad.gifmad.gifmad.gif (mad at myself)

kareng Grand Master

Lo, what is the purpose of this counselor? Is it someone to help you write resumes and get a job? When we moved, I had to see one because hub's company would pay 1 months salary if I was actively looking for work. If it's for career counseling but there is no money benefit, you could decline nicely, saying you are going to be a stay home wife for a while.

If this is a psych counselor, they do have to maintAin confidentiality. However, the fact that you are seeing one will be known. Also, anything they have to divulge to get paid.

If you want to message me & give me more specifics, I might be able to help you figure it out. Hub works for large company in human resources and I haven't worked in years, but one of my responsibilities dealt with medical information laws.

Wow... . . . . a good friend of DD's is working at getting a portfolio together for applying into visual arts at university. She has been working on facial portraits, and asked Sophie to pose for her.

Well .. . . ......the stills are awesome. When I look at them I do not, for a second, recognise her - - this is the little, mischievious urchin that has toddled through this house, sat on my lap, crawled into bed with me at midnight, a little frightened ball. ........ . .

Do they really have to grow up?. . . . . . . ... . :(.. . . . . . . ... . . .

@Jane02, I hear you about the kale and collard greens.  I don't do dairy and must eat green leafies, too, to get sufficient calcium.  I must be very careful because some calcium supplements are made from ground up crustacean shells.  When I was deficient in Vitamin D, I took high doses of Vitamin D to correct the deficiency quickly.  This is safe and nontoxic.  Vitamin D level should be above 70 nmol/L.  Lifeguards and indigenous Pacific Islanders typically have levels between 80-100 nmol/L.   Levels lower than this are based on amount needed to prevent disease like rickets and osteomalacia. We need more thiamine when we're physically ill, emotionally and mentally stressed, and if we exercise like an athlete or laborer.  We need more thiamine if we eat a diet high in simple carbohydrates.  For every 500 kcal of carbohydrates, we need 500-1000 mg more of thiamine to process the carbs into energy.  If there's insufficient thiamine the carbs get stored as fat.  Again, recommended levels set for thiamine are based on minimum amounts needed to prevent disease.  This is often not adequate for optimum health, nor sufficient for people with absorption problems such as Celiac disease.  Gluten free processed foods are not enriched with vitamins like their gluten containing counterparts.  Adding a B Complex and additional thiamine improves health for Celiacs.  Thiamine is safe and nontoxic even in high doses.  Thiamine helps the mitochondria in cells to function.  Thiamine interacts with each of the other B vitamins.  They are all water soluble and easily excreted if not needed. Interesting Reading: Clinical trial: B vitamins improve health in patients with coeliac disease living on a gluten-free diet https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19154566/ Safety and effectiveness of vitamin D mega-dose: A systematic review https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34857184/ High dose dietary vitamin D allocates surplus calories to muscle and growth instead of fat via modulation of myostatin and leptin signaling https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38766160/ Safety of High-Dose Vitamin D Supplementation: Secondary Analysis of a Randomized Controlled Trial https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31746327/ Vitamins and Celiac Disease: Beyond Vitamin D https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11857425/ Investigating the therapeutic potential of tryptophan and vitamin A in modulating immune responses in celiac disease: an experimental study https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40178602/ Investigating the Impact of Vitamin A and Amino Acids on Immune Responses in Celiac Disease Patients https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10814138/

Thank you so much @knitty kitty for this insightful information! I would have never considered fractionated coconut oil to be a potential source of GI upset. I will consider all the info you shared. Very interesting about the Thiamine deficiency.  I've tracked daily averages of my intake in a nutrition software. The only nutrient I can't consistently meet from my diet is vitamin D. Calcium is a hit and miss as I rely on vegetables, dark leafy greens as a major source, for my calcium intake. I'm able to meet it when I either eat or juice a bundle of kale or collard greens daily haha. My thiamine intake is roughly 120% of my needs, although I do recognize that I may not be absorbing all of these nutrients consistently with intermittent unintentional exposures to gluten.  My vitamin A intake is roughly 900% (~6400 mcg/d) of my needs as I eat a lot of sweet potato, although since it's plant-derived vitamin A (beta-carotene) apparently it's not likely to cause toxicity.  Thanks again!

Hello, @Jane02,  I take Naturewise D 3.  It contains olive oil.   Some Vitamin D supplements, like D Drops, are made with fractionated coconut oil which can cause digestive upsets.  Fractionated coconut oil is not the same as coconut oil used for cooking.  Fractionated coconut oil has been treated for longer shelf life, so it won't go bad in the jar, and thus may be irritating to the digestive system. I avoid supplements made with soy because many people with Celiac Disease also react to soy.  Mixed tocopherols, an ingredient in Thornes Vitamin D, may be sourced from soy oil.  Kirkland's has soy on its ingredient list. I avoid things that might contain or be exposed to crustaceans, like Metagenics says on its label.  I have a crustacean/shellfish/fish allergy.  I like Life Extension Bioactive Complete B Complex.  I take additional Thiamine B 1 in the form Benfotiamine which helps the intestines heal, Life Extension MegaBenfotiamine. Thiamine is needed to activate Vitamin D.   Low thiamine can make one feel like they are getting glutened after a meal containing lots of simple carbohydrates like white rice, or processed gluten free foods like cookies and pasta.   It's rare to have a single vitamin deficiency.  The water soluble B Complex vitamins should be supplemented together with additional Thiamine in the form Benfotiamine and Thiamine TTFD (tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide) to correct subclinical deficiencies that don't show up on blood tests.  These are subclinical deficiencies within organs and tissues.  Blood is a transportation system.  The body will deplete tissues and organs in order to keep a supply of thiamine in the bloodstream going to the brain and heart.   If you're low in Vitamin D, you may well be low in other fat soluble vitamins like Vitamin A and Vitamin K. Have you seen a dietician?
    • Scott Adams
I do not know this, but since they are labelled gluten-free, and are not really a product that could easily be contaminated when making them (there would be not flour in the air of such a facility, for example), I don't really see contamination as something to be concerned about for this type of product.
