Jyaghnutt, that mail thievery sucks! :angry: Well, let's hope that they were young kids, and one of them will rip open Josie's prescription bag, stare at the bottle, break into a huge, disbelieving smile and exclaim, "Whoa, lookit this!! Meds for glaucoma!! My mom has glaucoma, an' she's goin' blind, an' we got no money, no drug plan for medicine! Man, Her face when I give her this - - this won't be such a bad Christmas AFTER ALL!!"

Well, we had a little excitement in the neighborhood this morning. We had some guys come through in the middle of the night and steal everything out of everyone's mailboxes.

Em the Psilly Disney Psurrogate. :)

And mom is probably wrapped in Rachelle's coat 'cuz they have no heat.

Husbands People suck and I was thinking the same thing about the coat ;)

One year, a neighborhood teen was taking packages off everyones door steps. Someone saw him take a box off my porch. It was a couple of turtlenecks from Lands End. Another neighbors son was an FBI agent. He went to the kids house and flashed his badge at him & his mom. Things didn't disappear again. I'm sure he was disappointed by the turtlenecks. :)

Nahhhhh . . . twas just the script, not the drugs. If'n it had been the drugs I would have been majorly p.o.'d as this stuff is about a hundred bucks a bottle which lasts about 5 to 6 weeks.

Supposedly, they have been caught . . . young but not kids (ie, they'll be tried as adults). Meanwhile, mail is being found in snow banks. No tellin' if some good samaratin has mailed the script or if it has fallen apart in the slush somewhere.

That's good. Because it was the mail, they will be prosecuted. UPS or Lands End wouldn't prosecute the kid that took the package from my house. Not worth it.

Did anyone stay up last night to watch the eclipse? BE and I sat on his deck freezing and watched the end part. 'twas quite nifty.

And I'm quite tired today.

Gah! Makes me hyperventilate just thinkin about wearing a turtleneck! Put me in a pitch black black box filled wif salt water and I'm fine.... Put me in a turtleneck and I can't breathe! :blink:

A little joke...

Santa Claus, like all pilots, gets regular visits from the Federal Aviation Administration, and the FAA examiner arrived last week for the pre-Christmas flight check. In preparation, Santa had the elves wash the sled and bathe all the reindeer. Santa got his log book out and made sure all his paperwork was in order. He knew they would examine all his equipment and truly put Santa's flying skills to the test. The examiner walked slowly around the sled. He checked the reindeer harnesses, the landing gear, and even Rudolph's nose. He painstakingly reviewed Santa's weight and balance calculations for sled's enormous payload. Finally, they were ready for the check ride. Santa got in and fastened his seat belt and shoulder harness and checked the compass. Then the examiner hopped in carrying, to Santa's surprise, a shotgun. "What's that for?!?" asked Santa incredulously. The examiner winked and said, "I'm not supposed to tell you this ahead of time," as he leaned over to whisper in Santa's ear, "but you're gonna lose an engine on takeoff."

A little joke...

I didn't know there was a gluten-free brand. We saw a show recently about how they make popular holiday foods. With the Turduckin, there was stuffing all over the place! The workers took gloved handfuls of it and stuffed the birds but it got all over the place. If they did a gluten-free version, it would need to be done in a completely different room!

There's a kosher place in NY that sells it gluten-free (stuffed with rice or gluten-free bread). Perhaps that's part of the price but duck is pretty pricy on it's own. The guy was going to give me a discount because it was the last raw one he had (they sell them cooked for even more money) but it would have been $169 + shipping. There were a few other places that sold it but it wasn't gluten-free. Still expensive.

Of course he does because I've always done it. I had him at 40 after thinking I couldn't have children. I would have been different if I had it all over to do. But he is a good kid and doesn't drive me too crazy. As you've come to see I'm a pushover but not just with him. biggrin.gif

Getting into the Christmas spirit??

Last week, young lad aged about 10 playing Away in a Manger on the recorder outside grocery store at mini-mall. Each time I walked past he missed a note badly in the last line. The third time I waited, he missed again and I couldn't help a chuckle. Gave me a glare!! Last time, I waited and he hit it!! He flashed me a triumphant smile and a left some coins in his cap. :D

This week, same store, two 14-15 year-olds with guitars, playing --- wait for it -- Hard Day's Night :unsure: Maybe they were anticipating Santa's heroic feat :lol:

Same day, driving home for about 12 miles on highway behind a van with graffiti style writing across the back. A formal graphic 0800 number on the back window and a website obscured by the wiper blade, phinally deciphered as webcamera.com. What did the graffiti say? "Crude and Violent Nudity. Occasional Language"!!! Logged on when I got home and I guess I should have expected it - cell phone cameras under bathroom stall doors, all kinds of obnoxious perversity. Who would drive around with that on their van? :blink::rolleyes:

Had my favourite nice and current squeeze to stay last night so that raised the Christmas tone a little - she is heading to Wellington for Christmas with my sister's family, sister's ex and second wife, their kids and assorted hangers on. I understand Viv is erecting a marquee on the lawn :o Poor Viv always get stuck with the hosting - oh yeah, all Viv's hub's family are coming too. We are not going - having picnic in the park - prawns, oven fried chicken, asparagus salad, pasta salad, lots of raspberries and strawberries and pavlova.... Weather has been in the 90's but is predicted to cool for Christmas, (but not rain!! :D ) However, whenever you arrange a Kiwi picnic it always rains. :)

      I found at Disney springs and Disney they have specialist that when told about dietary restrictions they come and talk to you ,explain cross contamination measures tsken and work with you on choices. Its the one place I dont worry once I've explained I have celiac disease. Thier gluten free options are awesome.

      Desperately need a vitamin D supplement. I've reacted to most brands I've tried.

      Have you tried Pure Encapsulations supplements? This is a brand my doctor recommends for me. I have no issues with this brand.

      plant sources of calcium, such as spinach, have calcium bound to oxalates, which is not good. best source of calcium is unfortunately dairy, do you tolerate dairy? fermented dairy like kefir is good and or a little hard cheese. i do eat dairy, i can only take so much dietary restriction and gluten is hard enough! but i guess some people do have bad reactions...

      i take b12, folate, b2, b6, glycine, Nac, zinc, vk2 mk4, magnesium, coq10, pqq, tmg, creatine, omega 3, molybdnem (sp) and just started vit d. quite a list i know. I have high homocysteine (last checked it was 19, but is always high and i finally decided to do something about it) and very low vitamin d, 10. have been opposed to this supp in the past...

      i take b12, folate, b2, b6, glycine, Nac, zinc, vk2 mk4, magnesium, coq10, pqq, tmg, creatine, omega 3, molybdnem (sp) and just started vit d. quite a list i know.  I have high homocysteine (last checked it was 19, but is always high and i finally decided to do something about it) and very low vitamin d, 10. have been opposed to this supp in the past, but going to try it at 5k units a day. having a pth test on friday, which is suspect will be high. my homocysteine has come down to around 9 with 3 weeks of these supplements and expect it to go down further. i also started on estrogen/progesterone. I have osteoporosis too, so that is why the hormones.  anyway, i think all celiacs should have homocysteine checked and treated if needed (easy enough with b vit, tmg). homocysteine very bad thing to be high for a whole host of reasons. all the bad ones, heart attack , stroke, alzi, cancer..... one of the most annoying things about celiacs (and there are so many!) is the weight gain. i guess i stayed thin all those years being undiagnosed because i was under absorbing everything including calories. going gluten-free and the weight gain has been terrible, 30#, but i'm sure a lot more went into that (hip replacement - and years of hip pain leading to inactivity when i was previously very active, probably all related to celiacs, menopause) yada yada. i seemed to lose appetite control, like there was low glp, or leptin or whatever all those hormones are that tell you that you are full and to stop eating. my appetite is immense and i'm never full. i guess decades or more ( i think i have had celiacs since at least my teens - was hospitalized for abdominal pain and diarrhea for which spastic colon was eventually diagnosed and had many episodes of diarrhea/abdominal pain through my 20's. but that symptom seemed to go away and i related it to dairy much more so than gluten. Also my growth was stunted, i'm the only shorty in my family. anyway, decades of malabsorption and maldigestion led to constant hunger, at least thats my theory. then when i started absorbing normally, wham!! FAT!!!

      Great advise there I agree with the aniexty part, and the aura migraine has I suffer both, I've also read some great books that have helped I'm going too look the one you mentioned up too thankyou for that, I find a camomile tea just a small one and a gentle wind down before bed has helped me too, I suffer from restless leg syndrome and nerve pain hence I don't always sleep well at the best of times , racing mind catches up I have decorated my whole house in one night in my mind before 🤣 diet changes mindset really help , although I have to say it never just disappears, I find once I came to terms with who I am I managed a lot better  , a misconception is for many to change , that means to heal but that's not always the case , understanding and finding your coping mechanisms are vital tools , it's more productive to find that because there is no failure then no pressure to become something else , it's ok to be sad it's ok to not sleep , it's ok to worry , just try to see it has a journey not a task 🤗
