BE asked me this weekend if there were anything he's doing, or not doing, that needs to be changed. I told him I really would like to be 'courted' a little more, maybe taken out somewhere once in a while.

He called today and asked if he could court me this evening. Perhaps take me out for dinner and drinks.

How often do you find a man who actually listens to what you say.

And, as a bonus, I'm hoping to borrow his staple gun. I'll let you know if that works out.

So happy to hear he listened because you deserve the best this time around. He sounds like you are very special to him and you better be or he's going to have a hoard of psillies going after him laugh.gif Have a great date and we'll all be here looking forward to hearing how it went.

Hugs,

Loey

Update:

First, to bring all psillies up to speed . . . Skeeter (code name for me daughter) participated in a scavanger hunt at her orthodontist's office. She had to get her picture taken (with a banner from the office or wearing her T-shirt which had the office's name on it) with/at 100 different items/locations. Stuff like . . . in the produce aisle, making a snowman, at the beach (but NOT making a snowman AT the beach, that would be psillie), at a theme park, with a policeman, with a clown, with yellow flowers, with your favorite teacher, on a ferris wheel, doing kareaoke, on a trampoline, dressed as a hippie, dressed as the opposite sex, at a river, at a concert, with a lobster, with a rainbow, on a boat . . . get the idea?

Three kids out of the whole office completed the entire list so their names went into a drawing . . . and Skeeter won. She won a Dell mini laptop - Nickelodean edition. It's actually a cute little computer. I told her she won something (but didn't tell her she won the top prize) and that we had to go pick it up at the Ortho office. She was blown away . . . and really put on the excited/freaked out/giggly 9-yr-old girl show at the office and made the staff's day.

That is SO cool!!! I was blown away when I won the top prize in my Art Raffle (the lit 3 foot tree with supplies instead of ornaments) so I can only imagine how excited she was. Good for her!!!!

No staple gun, he couldn't find it. But it was awfully nice to see him. This morning, while having coffee in bed, we discussed the importance of fiber in your diet.   I found it a most amusing topic. And then we moved on to Nixon. :P:lol:

Almost forgot!! YAY Skeet! YIKES Pete!! EM'S got shocked feet!!! K'S DH got to eat!!!

My beh-beh lost his first tooth last night! Well, in all actuality, Max had a loose tooth, Jesse accidently hit it with the toothbrush and knocked it sideways, I was afraid that he'd swallow it while he was sleeping, so I convinced him that I was just going to mop up the blood in his mouth. I pinched the tooth, ever so gently, with a paper towel and the second he moved his head, I'll be darned the sucker just popped right out! He didn't even realize it. I had to tell him and then he totally flipped out on me. Freaked the poor thing out

That's Awesome!!! Congrats to the Skeeter!

. . . and Karen, Hubby was the one who did most of the work. I knew she had a good shot at it as this was right up his alley as far activities go . . . "Hey, let's go to the State Fair . . . we can get a picture with the ferris wheel, with a clown, on the tractor, with a turkey, and eating ice cream all in one day!!"

Soooooo, when all said and done.... How much did that computer cost you??:lol:

Hey!! At this time of year I need a couple of shock mats right in front of my fridge.. . . . .... ..Where do I pick these things up, POeter?

Meeee Toooooooo!!

But on the serious side, I actually went to a support groupish thing last night about my eating issues. Twas so weird, but I think I'll stick it out for a while to see if it helps. I've been repeating the serenity prayer in my head all day  I've been writing a lot too. Don't know if I'll just keep journaling it all or if I will blog about it. A cardiologist I work with wants me to blog it all. It's just so personal. On the other hand, if I can help anyone that's going through the stuff I've been dealing with since about age 12, it'd be worth it.

Any thoughts.....

I just received an email from a dear priend that was a forward. I don't do a lot of forwards (especially the kind that tell you how many people to send it to in how many minutes). But this one made me think of the time I spend with all of you on the this thread and on the forum in general and I wanted to share it. I personally don't think it's limited to girlpfrinds- but all pfriends

Loey wub.gifwub.gif (and appreciation)

A thought to share...and so true…

"I just finished taking an evening class at Stanford. The last lecture was on the mind-body connection-the relationship between stress and disease. The speaker (head of psychiatry at Stanford) said, among other things, that one of the best things that a man could do for his health is to be married to a woman whereas for a woman, one of the best things she could do for her health was to nurture her relationships with her

girlfriends. At first everyone laughed, but he was serious.

Women connect with each other differently and provide support systems that help each other to deal with stress and difficult life experiences. Physically this quality "girlfriend time" helps us to create more serotonin-a neurotransmitter that helps combat depression and can create a general feeling of well being. Women share feelings whereas men often form relationships around activities. They rarely sit down with a buddy and talk about how they feel about certain things or how their personal lives are going. Jobs? Yes. Sports? Yes. Cars? Yes. Fishing, hunting, golf? Yes. But their feelings?-rarely. Women do it all of the time. We share from our souls with our sisters/mothers, and evidently that is very good for our health. He said that spending time with a friend is just as important to our general health as jogging or working out at a gym.

There's a tendency to think that when we are "exercising" we are doing something good for our bodies, but when we are hanging out with friends, we are wasting our time and should be more productively engaged--not true. In fact, he said that failure to create and maintain quality personal relationships with other humans is as dangerous to our physical health as smoking! So every time you hang out to schmooze with a gal pal, just pat yourself on the back and congratulate yourself for doing something good for your health! We are indeed very, very lucky. Sooooo let's toast to our friendship with our girlfriends. Evidently it's very good for our health."

Again- I believe it isn't just "gal pals"

kareng Grand Master

Any thoughts.....

Nope....used my daily allotment.

I've been journaling for the past three years an I find it therapeutic and it also shows me improvements I might not notice. It's also cathartic. I've never blogged as I get nervous about putting my stuff out there. This forum is where I feel most comfortable bearing it all. If you can blog then I think it's quite courageous and giving on your part. But you already show how brave and courageous you are on this forum all the time.

Jyesssss! Staple guns.. . . . ..... ..fibRE.. . . . .and who, of course, would logically follow?

Richard Nixon. 'Tis elementary!

Good work with that tooth, Rah-shyellle! And I, too, find that writing down all my jumbled thoughts (actually writing, not typing) does, somehow, help to sort things out. Nuttin' to lose - - give it a try!

Well of course she did <_< . She always won the goody basket at the annual gluten-free picnic.

Btw......tell her thanks for not coming last year. Gave me a chance to win ;)

And the Becky visit to the vet update.

When she started her diet in 2009 she weighted in at 19.2lbs 2.gif When we had Becky checked back in the fall she was down to 15.8lbs :) Today she was up to 16.6lbs 2.gif So we are trying a new food that is suppose to help with these Phinkie Philens that want to have their food dishes full at all times. Becky now gets a cup of food PLUS a 6oz can of wet food a day. Stay tuned to this Psillie channel for updates on how Becky is doing on her diet.

...and if it works for Becky, I just might give it a go. I've set a goal to lose 18 pounds by June 1st. I lost about 21 pounds last spring/summer only to gain about 10 of it back - 5 of that was between Thanksgiving and New Years. I would think I would lose weight fairly quickly on the cat food diet.

If you start feeling an urge to catch mice, I've got a spare room you can nap in. I'll even get you your own heated little curl-up bed.

She could also play with the spiders and beetles, catch the flies, and generally make herself quite useful. And unlike gluten free products, you can usually get cat food on sale for when she needs a little nutritional help - you wouldn't want her to waste away :o .

Ooooooooo . . . a heated curl-up bed . . . sounds good!! But no scat mats for me or I'm outta there!!!

. . . as opposed to now, where I'm not too useful at all . . . it's this dang computer.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!!!

A class for Jeff to look forward to...

The school has made an engineering class just for Jeff ( his head is getting bigger). Maybe we can incorporate some of this probability into it!

Today is funk-o-licious. WIH?! I think I need a good long run, but I'm trapped in this hospital. I've been doing stairs in between my patients trying to boost my endorphins. Looking forward to tomorrow. Yoga, beh-beh's and my 2 besties for coffee :)

Hi Nikles (I see you!!). Wish I was there with you!!

If black seed oil is working for his Afib, stick to it, but if not, I can say that ablation therapy is no big deal--my mother was out of the procedure in about 1 hour and went home that evening, and had zero negative effects from the treatment. PS - I would recommend that your husband get an Apple watch to monitor his Afib--there is an app and it will take readings 24/7 and give reports on how much of the time he's in it. Actual data like this should be what should guide his treatment.

This happened to me as well. What’s weirder is that within a couple hours of taking paxlovid it subsided. I thought maybe I got glutened but after reading your post not so sure.

Hi Tiffany. Thank you for writing your dituation and  circumstancesin such detail and so well writte, too. I particularly noticed what you wrote about brain for and feeling like your brain is swelling and I know from my own experiences that's how it feel and your brain really does swell and you get migraines.    Way back when I was in my 20s I read a book by 2 MD allergist and they described their patient who came in complaining that her brain, inside her cranium, was swelling  and it happened when she smelled a certain chemical she used in her home. She kept coming back and insisting her brain actually swelled in her head. The Drs couldn't explain this problem so they, with her permission, performed an operation where they made a small opening through her cranium, exposed her to the chemical then watched as she brain did swell into the opening. The DRs were amazed but then were able to advise her to avoid chemicals that made her brain swell. I remember that because I occasionally had brain fog then but it was not a serious problem. I also realized that I was becoming more sensitive to chemicals I used in my work in medical laboratories. By my mid forties the brain fog and chemicals forced me to leave my  profession and move to a rural area with little pollution. I did not have migraines. I was told a little later that I had a more porous blood brain barrier than other people. Chemicals in the air would go up into my sinused and leak through the blood brain barrier into my brain. We have 2 arteries  in our neck that carry blood with the nutrients and oxygen into the brain. To remove the fluids and used blood from the brain there are only capillaries and no large veins to carry it away so all those fluids ooze out much more slowly than they came in and since the small capillaries can't take care of extra fluid it results in swelling in the face, especially around the eyes. My blood flow into my brain is different from most other people as I have an arterial ischema, adefectiveartery on one side.   I have to go forward about 20 or more years when I learned that I had glaucoma, an eye problem that causes blindness and more years until I learned I had celiac disease.  The eye Dr described my glaucoma as a very slow loss of vision that I wouldn't  notice until had noticeable loss of sight.  I could have my eye pressure checked regularly or it would be best to have the cataracts removed from both eyes. I kept putting off the surgery then just overnight lost most of the vision in my left eye. I thought at the I had been exposed to some chemical and found out a little later the person who livedbehind me was using some chemicals to build kayaks in a shed behind my house. I did not realize the signifance  of this until I started having appointments with a Dr. in a new building. New buildings give me brain fog, loss of balance and other problems I know about this time I experienced visual disturbances very similar to those experienced by people with migraines. I looked further online and read that people with glaucoma can suffer rapid loss of sight if they have silent migraines (no headache). The remedy for migraines is to identify and avoid the triggers. I already know most of my triggers - aromatic chemicals, some cleaning materials, gasoline and exhaust and mold toxins. I am very careful about using cleaning agents using mostly borax and baking powder. Anything that has any fragrance or smell I avoid. There is one brand of dishwashing detergent that I can use and several brands of  scouring powder. I hope you find some of this helpful and useful. I have not seen any evidence that Celiac Disease is involved with migraines or glaucoma. Please come back if you have questions or if what I wrote doesn't make senseto you. We sometimes haveto learn by experience and finding out why we have some problems. Take care.       The report did not mention migraines.

Hi Jmartes71 That is so much like my story! You probably know where Laytonville is and that's where I was living just before my 60th birthday when the new Dr. suggested I could have Celiacs. I didn't go on a gluten challange diet before having the Celiac panel blood test drawn. The results came back as equivical as one antibody level was very high but another, tissue transaminasewas normal. Itdid show I was  allergic to cows milk and I think hot peppers. I immediately went gluten free but did not go in for an endoscopy. I found an online lab online that would do the test to show if I had a main celiac gene (enterolab.com). The report came back that I had inherited a main celiac gene, DQ8, from one parent and a D!6 from the other parent. That combination is knows to sym[tons of celiac worse than just inheriting one main celiac gene. With my version of celiac disease I was mostly constipated but after going gluten-free I would have diarrhea the few times I was glutened either by cross contamination or eating some food containing gluten. I have stayed gluten-free for almost 20 years now and knew within a few days that it was right for me although my recovery has been slow.   When I go to see a  medical provide and tell them I have celiacs they don't believe me. The same when I tell them that I carry a main celiac gene, the DQ8. It is only when I tell them that I get diarrhea after eating gluten that they realize that I might have celiac disease. Then they will order th Vitamin B12 and D3 that I need to monitor as my B12 levels can go down very fast if I'm not taking enough of it. Medical providers haven't been much help in my recovery. They are not well trained in this problem. I really hope this helps ypu. Take care.
