:P I'm here--we are having a floor installed in my son's kitchen and laundry room. It was supposed to be done yesterday, and suffice it to say that everything that could possibly go wrong did.

The installer--whom we have known for 15 years and did mucho work for us when we lived here--decided to remove the hot water heater, which is the right way to do it. Hyjinks ensued when he turned the "shut-off" valve and it proceeded to spew water all over the place. (he missed the real one underneath the unit :rolleyes: ) It ended up phlooding the floor, got all over the walls, and even soaked the phone.

We had to put in an emergency call to the water dept, who came within 10 minutes and shut off the water to the house--and this is where Karrighn's snow pile comes in....they had to dig through about 2 feet of piled up snow to get to the valve. (once it was under control, they turned it back on) Since the water heater spent the night on the back porch, we had no hot water last night. The floor guys are here now, the plumber will be back around noon and hopefully it'll be done by this afternoon.

I did have a quiet break in the afternoon yesterday when I drove Matt to the dentist to have a tooth pulled. Got to sit in the waiting room and watch Animal Planet :D

Why do they do that? My house has 2 shut-offs to house - one 8 inches above the other. Plumbers have never been able to explain that.

Glad you are OK. You are usually on here all the time but when you weren't I started worrying. Then my mind started going in wild tangents. I hoped you decided to chuck all this snow & had just run off to Tahiti. But then.... I remembered you had been sick. There was a thing on the news about what happens to your FB if you die. One of J's football & lacrosse teammates dad died suddenly so we have had that on our minds. So I started to leap to horrible thoughts.

Hadn't thought of Remodelling Hell.

Aw thanks :wub: Twas a rare thing, but I wasn't on the computer at all yesterday. Mark had to go back last night to get back to work (he took yesterday off), but I'm thinking I'll just stay till Saturday so he doesn't have to make the trip to come get me after work. I just hope the washer is hooked up tonight--I've been here since Friday night and don't wanna run out of clothes...

Put them out on the front lawn as an art installation. A commentary on the weather and our society.

Well, I was new to the short bus (although sometimes feel I need to be on one :blink: - see below ) Had to google it - that's one bit of technology I have mastered to a fine art :P

Hahaha - welcome to the world of the technology challenged. :lol: That's what it's like for us all the time. Although I have scrambled out of the 1900's. Instead of saying "I wanna Iphone" I kept saying "I wanna Ipod" Of course, being of short bus calibre I didn't know what they even looked like, but said to hubs, if I'm going to put in the miles on the damned treadmill, I gotta have me some decent music, and sent him to not only buy me one but to put the music on it too :lol: Now I toddle along to my heart's content listenin' to the happy beat with my happy feet. Couldn't believe how tiny those things are, but my humungous head has such little ears stuck on it that the speaker buds are almost too big to stay in :unsure:

You need the ones like ear plugs that you squeeze, put in ears then they expand so they stay in better. Or just the old school headphones like earmuffs ;)

Re: the pictures... I used to be able to do it no problem... before the update...

Me too :(

We keep the stereo on while at work to keep the dog company. I tried to switch it to tv today, but nada. :unsure:

Gotta wait til DD gets home. :(

Let me see if I can help.

The short bus is what kids ride if they have physical or mental handicaps. It is smaller than regular buses and is specially equipped for wheelchairs.

....and shroomie is right abour the SB ;)

One thing I did not post before is that I take Esomeprazole for GERD. My Naturopath believes that the decrease in the gastric acid has allowed the yeast to grow.       Hi @JulieRe. I just found your post. It seems that I am also experiencing thrush, and my doctor believes that I have fungal overgrowth in my gut, which is most likely candida. I'm seeing my GI doctor next week, so I'm hoping she can diagnose and confirm this and then give me an antifungal treatment. In the meantime, I have been working with a functional...

      Hi Everyone,  I do appreciate your replies to my original post.   Here is where I am now in this journey.  I am currently seeing a Naturopath.  One thing I did not post before is that I take Esomeprazole for GERD.  My Naturopath believes that the decrease in the gastric acid has allowed the yeast to grow.    She has put me on some digestive enzymes.  She also put me on Zinc, Selenium, B 12, as she felt that I was not absorbing my vitamins. I am about 5 weeks into this treatment, and I am feeling better. I did not have any trouble taking the Fluconazole.

      Hi @JulieRe.  I just found your post.  It seems that I am also experiencing thrush, and my doctor believes that I have fungal overgrowth in my gut, which is most likely candida.  I'm seeing my GI doctor next week, so I'm hoping she can diagnose and confirm this and then give me an antifungal treatment.  In the meantime, I have been working with a functional medicine doctor, doing a candida cleanse and taking vitamins. It's already helping to make me feel better (with some ups and downs, of course), so I do think the yeast is definitely a problem for me on top of my celiac disease and I'm hoping my GI doctor can look into this a bit further.  So, how about you?  Did the candida come back, or is it still gone following your fluconazole treatment?  Also, was it awful to take fluconazole?  I understand that taking an antifungal can cause a reaction that sometimes makes people feel sick while they're taking it.  I hope you're doing better still !
