Robotics update:

Did pretty good today. 10th out of 56 with 2 more matches to go tomorrow. Had the high scor of the day at 90 points but then someone got 96. Had one round where we were down one of the 3 robots, plus the other robot on our alliance didn't run.

We won a judge decided award tonight! The Control Award! Something about the people with the silver hats controlling the game.

I misread the standings of the mushers in the Iditarod a couple of days ago - - thinking Michelle was in ninth, I was over the moon, but she was really in TWENTY-ninth, having started in the 39 spot. Now she's in nineteenth, so beginning to steadily move up. .. .she's still got 15 dogs pulling, which is terrific.. .. .... B)

Lost in the elimination round. I guess we were the " eliminated". We had fun. Won an award for our control system last night. In the running for a safety award tonight.

On th Spring Break in Utah. Then back for 2 days & off to the Chicago Regional.

P.S. My first husband and I actually went to a resort where the bed was a red velvet heart with a mirror over it and the jacuzzi was a martini glass. Those were the days of my youth (pre cottage cheese)

Horrific earthquake on the northeast coast of Japan that has massive tsunami warnings affecting all countries of the Pacific Rim.. . . ..

I'm thinking immediately of our Rah-shyellle, who just got to Hawaii and would have been evacuated a few hours ago... . . ...the waves are expected to hit there within the next half-hour..... . . ..are Soooozle and Jooodie on or near the coast? Don't believe so... . . ....Shrooomie, youse guys are bracing for another bit of earthly sublimity, as are the Aussies....

Gawd, so many potentially effected.. . . . ..

Gnick, you're safe way over and up there! And I am, but my relatives out in Victoria have likely evacuated...

Praying for all of you on the West Coast and Canada (and of course Japan). It boggles the mind how muchdestruction can happen in a matter of moments!!!!!

Made it to Utah. Went OT the little grocery - no hard cider! No wine! No wodka! Only glutinous beer! Couldn't find a liqour store anywhere. Probably wasn't open on Sun night anyway!

That's the problem with Utah - you have to find a state-run liquor store ---- when it's open :ph34r: On our trip to the high southwest spent time in the boondocks of Utah, and on the Navajo reservation (where there wasn't even beer - this was in our glutinous days), and got quite thirsty. :P

We was coming the other way, across US 50, and there wasn't much there either :unsure: - the loneliest road in the U. S. of A ('cept we ran into a traffic jam cos some airforce pilot had accidentally dropped "da bom" on the roadside. :blink: (unexploded)

The Navaho Nation is dry. It covers more than half of Arizona and parts of other neighboring states.

Utah might as well be dry. The laws there are very restrictive.

      "I'm wondering if she just hadn't eaten enough to test positive?" --> Because your daughter is "IGA deficient", the (gliadin IGA) test she was given could not work properly and the result of that particular test was meaningless. The amount of gluten she did/didn't eat would not matter for that part, whether or not she actually has celiac disease....

      That sounds very hernia inducing work! You confirm what I have suspected, I get pain just to the right of the umbilical hernia, I am sure there is a connection. If do see my gastroenterologist I'll mention it again. I can't help thinking I've also got an issue in my groin, perhaps a hernia threatening, I guess an ultrasound would be needed to confirm...

      For the Inguinal hernia I could definitely feel it, and it came with an obvious bulge that appeared soon after doing a project where I was drilling holes on concrete using a very old school regular hand drill with mason bit, instead of a hammer drill with mason bit--this left me squatting over the drill putting my weight on it for several hours (the hammer...

      @Scott Adams Strange question but can you actually feel your hernia? I have so many abdominal lumps and bumps of longstanding (my GP said it's fat!) that I sometimes wonder if an inguinal hernia could be missed. I am quite sure some of my pain is from my umbilical hernia but that first came about courtesy of my second pregnancy.

If instead she had had normal levels of IGA in her blood, then the question of how much gluten she was eating would become relevant.

Bad idea--learn from my mistake in being "lazy" and not renting (or buying) the proper tool for the job. My umbilical hernia was around for many years, and I didn't feel that one at all, so never worried about it. My doctor basically recommended doing both in one surgery, which seemed like wise move.  As far as the possible IBS connection to either, it was definitely apparent after getting the Inguinal hernia, which is why I asked my doctor about that, but after getting both fixed I realize that the umbilical hernia likely also had mild IBS effects over the years.
