So cute!

Years ago, our zoo had a little building with a climbable rock wall inside. It waas caged. They tried to keep about 10 chinchillas in it. You had to go in the double doors & close them quickly because you can't keep a chinchilla in a regular caging material. They would run around in the building. J was about 1 1/2 & in a little stroller. The chinchillas kept runnning up and grabbing his shoelaces & chewing the end of the diaper bag strap. Some parents were horrified that the kids would get bit & ran out. We had the best time. :P

They won't bite... unless you roll in raisins first... then they mistake your finger for a raisin. Which brings up a gluten question (anybody else got hideously dry skin)...oh, wrong thread.. ;):huh:

The zoo wasn't quite that bad. Once the screaming parents got out, there were alot of the little buggers. J didn't want to go to another part of the zoo but we had to exercise the Red Kangaroos. They liked to jump over baby strollers or be chased by little kids. They would wait until he could catch up then hop a couple of hops away.

Dry skin - Try Cerave cream. gluten-free last time I checked.

Your Majesty, Qween Emily, I just saw the most fantastic thing last night, a royal accountrement that should be part of your kkweenliness. T'was in a dream, we wuz in London, and Her Majesty Kween Elizabeth II came by, floating as it were on a Royal Carpet. T'was a magnificent sight with her majesty smiling and graceful and her carpet transporting her elegantly above all the sludge and filth below, just hovering above the ground, floating over ponds and rivers and lifting her up if anything impeded her path. Kept her away from the riff-raff too. Don't you think this would make a fine addition to your inventory of Kweenly tatt, like besmirched robes, jewel-missing crowns, and slightly bent scepters?

Yes, absolutely, a Royal Magic Carpet would be something I could use. Perhaps with a little carpet behind, for the jester. Do these things run on gas? I need to know how much an 8x10 berber gets to the imperial gallon as I would be submitting these receipts as part of my travel expense package.....

I am SO excited for The Ripper. Next week begins the five-night run of his school musical. He is in the chorus, but he's been bumped to the front line as his dancing prowess was quickly noted.

He has been in rehersals every school night until 5:30 pm since mid-January, and it promises to be a terrific, professional show. Yesterday they ran through the entire production wearing all costumes and make-up. He came home, walked into the kitchen, and when I looked at him I thought, "now THERE'S my show kid!" He still had all his make-up on -- full foundation, blush, heavy black eyeliner and his hair slicked back a la Cary Grant. He was so proud of himself. . ...with a huge smile he proclaimed, "I came home on the BUS like this!"

      Not necessarily. The "Gluten Free" label means not more than 20ppm of gluten in the product which is often not enough for super sensitive celiacs. You would need to be looking for "Certified Gluten Free" (GFCO endorsed) which means no more than 10ppm of gluten. Having said that, "Gluten Free" doesn't mean that there will necessarily be more gluten than "Certified...

      I think it is wise to seek a second opinion from a GI doc and to go on a gluten free diet in the meantime. The GI doc may look at all the evidence, including the biopsy report, and conclude you don't need anything else to reach a dx of celiac disease and so, there would be no need for a gluten challenge. But if the GI doc does want to do more testing, you...

I wish I had known of this at the time of her diagnosis, life would have been much easier.  I hope you are able to figure out.

I almost said no because she made it in her kitchen but I thought it would be ok.  Next day and for a few after his behavior is awful. Hitting, rude, disrespectful. Mainly he kept saying his legs were shaking. Is this a gluten exposure symptom that anyone else gets? Also the bad behavior?

But if the GI doc does want to do more testing, you can worry about the gluten challenge at that time. But between now and the time of the appointment, if your symptoms improve on a gluten free diet, that is more evidence. Just keep in mind that if a gluten challenge is called for, the bare minimum challenge length is two weeks of the daily consumption of at least 10g of gluten, which is about the amount found in 4-6 slices of wheat bread. But, I would count on giving it four weeks to be sure.
