Well, indeed.. .. . . ..I think the parliamentary powers that be are trying to get a load of food into her - - what a skinny thing she is.

And absolutely gorgeous. . . . . . . . ....the two of them make such a striking, conversation-stopping couple.. .... . . .

I wonder if DH and I have ever stopped conversation whilst entering a room?

LO- have a nice nap. Might I suggest a lovely sterile bubble to reside in? You seem to be a germ magnet, my dear!

Nic- I wonder what would happen if she had to sit quietly for 1/2 hour? She would probably spend the quiet time planning some new feat of physical prowess!

New Princess - We saw something of the visit on the news last night. My hub pointed out that half the time the Prince wasn't in the shot & when he was, we weren't looking at him. He said be a Prince & Princess looks like it is a tough job (really, not joking).

I'm not sure I'd take her on even in daylight. Although Jyess did survive the encounter - BUT it was in a rather public place!!!

Hub and I have never stopped conversation when entering the room - more likely aroused it :o Now, conversation can be good or bad.......:P

He got that right!!! Just imagine always having to put your best phace phorward at all times, the appropriate word or smile, the gracious gesture, no inappropriate parts showing, no equipment failures, My God, the list is endless. Not even chipped nail polish,,,,, - I could nae survive it even if I did have a team helping me :D

Whoa.... 'twould be a pheat phor aknee age.

I grew my first batch of carrots! They actually grown! I've planted them so many times before but they had never grown into real full sixed carrot flavored carrots!

(yes, 'tis worthy of all three "!" my life is that exciting.)

I am covered in bruises from helping a friend move furniture. Most from a fall off the moving van ramp whilst trying to push up a china cabinet. Fortunately my friend was able to keep the cabinet from falling on top of me, and we didn't even break any of the glass walls.

Today gonna go get concrete blocks to put around the new chicken coop. I need to learn to do things that involve easy things, like embroidery or sump'n.

That sounds great. I canna grow carrots here 'cause there are too many wild bunnies around, and they seem to be able to get into any type of metal covering I construct. They eat my flowers, too.

Absolutely adorable, but big pests.

.. . . . Wonder if Manna's in-laws could keep them away?. . . . .. . .

Cleaning the carpet. The oldest caught a stomach bug a few days ago and there

was spillage. Why can't an 18 year old, who is not drunk, make it 20 feet to the bathroom? On a happy note, it forced him to do a bit, only a bit, of cleaning of his room.

Next time he's sick, it's off to Manna's in- laws!

It sounds like these people are gonna come in handy. D'ya think I can get them to carry my chickens in to the coop for me? I haven't figured out the logistics of that part.

Try and get them to sleep out there, too. Perhaps somewhat more appealing than a bathtub.. . . . ..

sigh

I need to go to the pet food store to get more food for Bo, but to do that I need to unload the bricks from my truck, but to do that I need to shovel the rest of the sand out of my wheel barrow.

I had a brief (15 min) nap and a cup of coffee. Now I just need motivation.

Jestgar Rising Star

The only thing slightly less pleasant than a bruised hip, is lying on that hip under a chicken coop while positioning 10 pound concrete blocks. Add to that 'while lying in nettles' and it pretty much adds up to something I don't care to do again.

Just send him to them AFTER they visit me please! The last thing I need is to be sick while moving or to have sick (and therefore twice as grumpy) IL's helping me move! Although, good luck trying to get them to take him in. We visited once while we were still dating and I came down with a bad cold---MIL caught it after we left and she told her son (My hubby now) that he better NEVER bring me there again... if I'm sick....

Yeah, she paused like she meant to say never bring me there again and then added the sick part. She said that's the sickest she's ever been.

On the subject of not making it to the toilet despite being sober I have been there many a time I'm afraid. When my body decides to ahem  "toss cookies" I just toss them violently no mater where I am. I don't always make it to the toilet or trash. I hafta keep a bucket next to me when I'm really sick. Hope your son feels better soon!

Healthy Omega Three fats.  Olive oil or flaxseed oil, oily fish, fatty cuts of meat.   Our bodies run much better on burning fats as fuel.  Diets based on carbohydrates require an increased amount of thiamine to process the carbs into fuel for the body.  Unfortunately, thiamine mononitrate is used to enrich rice.  Thiamine mononitrate is relatively unusable in the body.  So a high carb diet can further decrease thiamine stores in the body.  Insufficient thiamine in the body causes the body to burn body fat and muscle for fuel, so weight loss and muscle wasting occurs.  Those extra carbohydrates can lead to Candida (often confused with mold toxicity) and SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth).   Losing weight quickly is a symptom of thiamine insufficiency.  Muscle wasting is a symptom of thiamine insufficiency.  I lost sixty pounds in a month.   Having difficulty putting weight on and keeping it on is a symptom of thiamine insufficiency.   The AIP diet works because it eliminates all grains and grasses, rice, quinoa, all the carbs.  Without the carbs, the Candida and SIBO get starved and die off.  Easy way to change your microbiome is to change what you feed it.  With the rowdy neighbors gone, the intestine can heal and absorb more nutrients.   Supplementing with essential vitamins and minerals is beneficial.  Talk to your doctor and nutritionist.  Benfotiamine is a form of thiamine that promotes intestinal healing.  The eight B vitamins are water soluble, so if you don't need them, they can be gotten rid of easily.   Night shades are excluded on the AIP diet.  Potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant are not allowed on the AIP diet.  They contain alkaloids that promote "a leaky gut".  Benfotiamine can help here. Sweet potatoes are avoided because they contain thiaminases, chemicals that break thiamine so that the body cannot use it.   The AIP diet has helped me.

The reaction one gets when they get glutened varies a lot from person to person.  This article has some detailed information on how to be 100% gluten-free, so it may be helpful (be sure to also read the comments section.):
    • Theresa2407
A gluten ingestion can last for many months.  Many years ago there was a celiac conference in Fl.  Everyone there got contaminated with some having difficulty 6 months to recover.  It will hit your Lympatic system and spread  through the body and effect your nevous system as well. Most times when I get glutened it is from a prescription med that wasn't checked close enough.  the Pharmacuticals change vendors all the time.
    • Hmart
Thank you so much for the responses. Every piece of information helps.  I only knowingly ate gluten once, that was four days ago. I had the reaction about 3-4 hours after consuming it. I’m concerned that after 4 days the symptoms aren’t abating and almost seem worse today than yesterday.  I haven’t had either breath test. I did ask about additional testing but the PA recommended me to a celiac specialist. Unfortunately the first available is mid-December.  As far as diet, I am a pescatarian (have been for 25+ years) and I stopped eating dairy mid-last week as my stomach discomfort continued. Right now, I’m having trouble eating anything. Have mostly been focused on bananas, grapes, nut butters, DF yogurt, eggs, veggie broth.   I ordered some gluten-free meal replacements to help.  But I’ll get all the items (thank goodness for Instacart) and try the diet you recommended to get me past this period of feeling completely awful.  Yes, my doctor diagnosed celiac. I was concerned it wasn’t right based on the negative blood test and my continued symptoms.  Even if you are ‘glutened’ it shouldn’t last forever, right? Is four days too long?
    • Theresa2407
Usually when I digest gluten or wheat I have a 4 hour window before reacting.  If it is immediate it may be an intollerence to another food.  Dairy, Frutose, and bacteria (SIBO) will react with many of the celiac disease symtoms.Has your Doctor ran a  Fructose test which is measuring your Fruit Sugar?  A Hydrogen Beath Test which checks your intestinal bacteria and Dairy? After my biopsy and blood work, these (3) tests were also ran, along with allergy tests, which allery test was sent out of State.  It was a mouth swab. How fast you heal depends on the diet you are following… The following are my personal recommendations to healing. I talk to many newly diagnosed people who start the gluten-free diet with pasta, breads, snacks, and pizza. After a month or so, they do not know why they don’t feel any better and still are sick with their original symptoms: They worry the diet is not working for them. For some there may be other factors involved, but most just aren’t letting their body heal properly. I blame the internet, and misinformation it contains. People want a quick fix, not realizing this is a life long disease. They need a good support group, with people who have been through this and knows what works!  This is what I have found will work for you.                                                                                            First 6 weeks should be:                                                                                                                                 lean meat (beef, pork, chicken, turkey, salmon, sardines, buffalo, deer)                                                   fresh vegetables (steamed or roasted with a little Olive Oil) with 2 cups per day being raw (5 servings; a serving is 1/2 cup)                                                                                                                                      fresh fruit (3 servings; include strawberries, blackberries and blueberries daily)  Makes good shakes with Almond milk.                                                                                                                                        A hand full of almonds daily (pecans and walnuts can be substituted)                                                        brown rice, lentils, Citrucel daily (or the equivalent) Good source of fiber. I use Calm because my body doesn’t absorb Magnesium and I only need to take once in evening.                                                    No dairy of any kind (milk, cheese, yogurt, No breads, No past,  No oats, No pizza, No gluten-free beer, No snacks like cake, biscuits, pies, donuts.                                                                                                Many dietitians will tell you to follow a gluten free diet but you have to heal first. Don’t misunderstand me, dietitians are our friends and help us.                                                                                              10% of people with gluten-free will be intolerant to dairy                                                                                  10% can not tolerate oats                                                                                                                     After the six weeks, you can start to add these foods back into your diet. 1 new food every 4 days; this way you know if you react to this food.                                                                                                  Oats shouldn’t be tried for 1 year after being diagnosed; then start with 1/3 of a cup. Only gluten-free Oats are acceptable.                                                                                                                                              You should have results within 3 days of following a correct healing diet. Bloating should be leaving, migraines should be gone. Might take bowels a little longer to respond. If you start with 5 times a day on the Citrucel and cut back as your bowels return to normal; then use 1 Tbsp. daily. This works if you have constipation or diarrhea.                                                                                                        Meanwhile make sure you have had a Dexa test (bone density) and a blood test to check your vitamin and mineral levels: Zinc, D,K,B,C and iron levels.                                                                                  Don't take supplements while healing as your body is not accepting them and they will flush through your body.                                                                                                                                              Have you had a breath test for Dairy, Fructose, and bacteria overgrowth?
