Welcome back Rache - I'm so sorry you're going through this but you are a tough Lady.

And LoLo - it's good to see you pop in when you can. :) I hope the healing is going well and Clark is pampering you proper. :)

Clark and Tony are pampering me. Now I need to find out who stole my real son. laugh.gif. I had him open one present tonight (we celebrate Chranukah & I also need the box to wrap another present). He's into wearing sports jackets and ties and fedoras so I got him a Scarface tie. He really seemed to get a kick out of it. He seems much more comfortable in his skin than we've ever seen him - not to say he wasn't self confident. College and having to be independent from us was a BIG thing but now it's coming together.

Hey guys, we're fine :)B) All shook up again, but what else is new. At least the stuph didn't all fall out of my pantry :lol: All the tiles are still on the roof (I think :blink: ) and I poured myself a glass of whine even though it's only 2:30 p.m. I think Miss Em, my kitty, would like some too. Apparently there were a few panicked shoppers in the malls - I pledged not to go there this Christmas, and haven't :unsure:

So they say good news travels fast - sheesh, so does bad!! Twenty minutes and Lisa is on it :blink:

I think that most things that were going to get broken have already been broken most places, so hope that the rest of the city is okay. This one was about 10 kns out to sea or it would have been worse - all that nice heavy salt water seems to muffle it a little. :D

Anyways, just checkin' in. :) Off for another glass of wine.

Perhaps you aren't meant to cook tonight? Maybe just some snacks and another glass of wine? Perhaps a little tuna marinated in wine for the kitty?

I don't know if I can find the kitty. She was really cool with the first, but now... she has disappeared. And I am already on my third glass of wine. I will be typing like Jyess soon. :D

Glad to hear you're ok Shooomie!!! Was thinking about you yesterday! My cousin is over there too. Haven't heard from her yet :unsure:

I'm afraid to say it... But it's a goooooood day!!!

I'm not sure how many of these I will have in the next few months, but I'm so very thankful for every second of it!!

Maybe a little scary, more just rediculous drama. I'm in between patients right now so I'll do it right now. Give me at least a 1/2 hour. It's a loooooooong story!!

Gaaaaahhhhhhh... . . SO much to do today, but I'll be checking my email RELIGIOUSLY through the next couple of hours.. . ...thank gawd for my ipod, which will let me check these things whilst I stand at the bank, struggle through the liquor store, walk with the dogs. .. . . ....

Shrooooomie, I checked on here this morning to see if you'd posted, and got the good news. Then, I could carry on with my morning. :rolleyes::D Woulda had my ipod on the treadmill as well, methinks. . .. . ...

Um. . . . .. .. . ..there have been large earth tremors on the other side of the world, which we are ALL abreast of and checking in here to ensure that Shroooomie's okay. However, there is an equally terrifying thing happening on THIS side of the earth, and NONE of you Psills have been asking if I am all right.

It's okay..... . .I realize how busy everyone is, and my welfare cannot be foremost on everybody's mind.

Remember, now.....it's Christmas time.

Seriously, here in Kansas, you can anonymously report an older person's driving. They will be called in for a driving test. Can you do that there?

She lives up in the Yukon, so that territory can deal with her driving infractions. One should think that the Alaska Highway would be the safest thoroughfare to place a hapless driver -- long stretches of straight, flat road, reasonable speed limit -- she has, however, managed to take out guard rails and First Nations elders portaging along the shoulder.. . . . ..

She rarely takes either of our cars out, now........and the kids wear full hockey gear when they do head out with her.

      Is there a digestive enzyme that helps build a healthier gut? I see people taking them but not sure what really works

      Disaccharide deficient, confusing biopsy results, no blood test

      So the tTG-IGA at 28 is positive for celiac disease. There are some other medical conditions that can cause elevated tTG-IGA but this is unlikely. There are some people for whom the dairy protein casein can cause this but by far the most likely cause is celiac disease. Especially when your small bowel lining is "scalloped". Your Serum IGA 01 (aka, "total...

      hi, i want to say thank you to you and @trents . after 2 phone calls to my GI, her office called me back to tell me that a blood test was “unnecessary” and that we should “follow the gold standard” and since my biopsy did not indicate celiac, to follow the no dairy and sucraid diet. i luckily have expendable income and made an appt for the labcorp blood t...

      Okay that is really good to know. So with that being positive and the other being high it makes sense she diagnosed her even without the endoscopy. So glad we caught it early. She had so many symptoms though that to me it was clear something was wrong. yeah I think we had better test us and the other kids as well.

      So the tTG-IGA at 28 is positive for celiac disease. There are some other medical conditions that can cause elevated tTG-IGA but this is unlikely. There are some people for whom the dairy protein casein can cause this but by far the most likely cause is celiac disease. Especially when your small bowel lining is "scalloped". Your Serum IGA 01 (aka, "total IGA") at 245 mg/dl is within normal range, indicating you are not IGA deficient. But I also think it would be wise to take your doctor's advice about the sucraid diet and avoiding dairy . . . at least until you experience healing and your gut has had a chance to heal, which can take around two years. After that, you can experiment with adding dairy back in and monitor symptoms. By the way, if you want the protein afforded by dairy but need to avoid casein, you can do so with whey protein powder. Whey is the other major protein in dairy.

Studies have demonstrated that endomysial IgA antibodies have over 99% specificity for gluten sensitive enteropathy. Immunoglobulin A, Qn, Serum 01 245 mg/dL 87-352
