So we are having a " fun" 4 th. hub is installing 2 faucets we bought 6 years ago. Boys are at the tent from 8 am today until 2 am. I'm just cleaning out some drawers/ cabinets. At least it's cool in the house.

I think chickens, raccoons , coyotes and hikers would melt here.

Thanks Shroom:). It's going around-- several people we know either have it or have just gotten over it.

I'll keep an eye out for that soup ;)

Happy 4th of July to all of you celebrating. Boy have I missed you all. After I took a fall Memorial Weekend I was fairly out of it and vision was off. I'm doing much better. Just have to have an MRI to see if there are any fractures. I didn't go to the ER because of all of my bruises (didn't want Superman questioned) and also after spending a week in the hospital in January I didn't want to take a chance that they'd admit me. Not too smart but what's done is done.Rob did keep waking me the first night because I'm sure I had a mild concussion.Just came back from a lovely neighborhood BBQ and I left earlier than Superman as we're leaving for NJ tomorrow and I still tire very easily. I have been keeping up with the posts and sending positive energy and healing hugs to all of you. Will try to be better about keeping up with you when we return.

Love,wub.gifwub.gifwub.gif

Happy 4th all!!

We had a hot one here . . . Smackl is on the TKD demo team so he had to perform in the 4th of July parade here . . . two miles with constant demos along the route. Temps at parade time in the low 90's but high humidity. Lost two kids (had to ride in the support truck) along the way due to heat. Then Smackl had to work the booth at the festival from noon until 5:00 with a full demo performance at 1:30. . . and all these kids/staff are wearing their standard uniforms(lightweight and loose but long sleeves and pants). He was a trooper . . . I didn't hear him complain once. He also knows that he totally has the day off tomorrow. He can plant himself in front of the computer and shoot all the zombies he wants.

Good to see you Loey and take care of yerselfs, Patti and Mark . . . and Loey!

jerseyangel Proficient

Yea Smackl !! Hope he has a grand time tomorrow :)

Loweeee!!!! I've been wondering how you've been doing! Was going to do a shout out for you but you beat me to it!

Patteigh....sucks about the phlu. You and Mark get better soon

Well, we had originally planned an all day motorcycle ride (yes...we still ride) with friends to go down across the Ohio River, but it was just too dang hot. So we ended up having a bar-b-que.

Thanks guys, is a lot better already. Stupid rocks...

mushroom Proficient

. Stupid rocks...

Them rocks will get ya! I once went hiking in a rocky national park (well, the trail wasn't rocky but there were rocks everywhere except the trail, and those rocks were all third rocks from the relentless SUN which held HEAT and we was gone most of the day. And I had a hat and two bottles of water, both of which I employed, but when I got back to the hotel for a nice cold amber one I was sick as a dog for two days (felt like sunstroke and heatstroke :P ) GAHHH. Avoided rocks ever since  And sun too!!! for the most part.

{{{HUGS}}}} Loey!! :(

Sorry bunny :( ({{{HUGS}}} too)

YEAH! Lisa

dat all?

Lovely 4th. Watched the fireworks from the boat - excellent view, and 'home' is 2 seconds away, down the ladder.

The bread turned out fabulous, and much easier to regulate consumption in 1 pound loaves. Even the Pirate thought it was good with home made butter.

Mulberry (the silkie) is broody again. She's managed to acquire 5 eggs which I've marked, and will leave under her (since I'd have to throw them away otherwise), and I'll check daily for new additions to limit her collection.

Play is done, auction is done, just sent in my little bit of work for the stat lab, forecast says 'no rain' - should be a fabulous weekend.

So the tTG-IGA at 28 is positive for celiac disease. There are some other medical conditions that can cause elevated tTG-IGA but this is unlikely. There are some people for whom the dairy protein casein can cause this but by far the most likely cause is celiac disease. Especially when your small bowel lining is "scalloped". Your Serum IGA 01 (aka, "total IGA") at 245 mg/dl is within normal range, indicating you are not IGA deficient. But I also think it would be wise to take your doctor's advice about the sucraid diet and avoiding dairy . . . at least until you experience healing and your gut has had a chance to heal, which can take around two years. After that, you can experiment with adding dairy back in and monitor symptoms. By the way, if you want the protein afforded by dairy but need to avoid casein, you can do so with whey protein powder. Whey is the other major protein in dairy.

hi, i want to say thank you to you and @trents   . after 2 phone calls to my GI, her office called me back to tell me that a blood test was “unnecessary” and that we should “follow the gold standard” and since my biopsy did not indicate celiac, to follow the no dairy and sucraid diet. i luckily have expendable income and made an appt for the labcorp blood test that day. i just got my results back and it indicates celiac disease i think 😭   im honestly happy bc now i KNOW and i can go gluten free. and i am SO MAD at this doctor for dismissing me for a simple blood test that wouldn’t have cost her anything !!!!!!!!!!! im sorry, im so emotional right now, i have been sick my whole life and never knew why, i feel so much better already   my results from labcorp:   Celiac Ab tTG TIgA w/Rflx Test Current Result and Flag Previous Result and Date Units Reference Interval t-Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA 01 28 High U/mL 0-3 Negative 0 - 3 Weak Positive 4 - 10 Positive >10 Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) has been identified as the endomysial antigen. Studies have demonstrated that endomysial IgA antibodies have over 99% specificity for gluten sensitive enteropathy. Immunoglobulin A, Qn, Serum 01 245 mg/dL 87-352

      Thank you this really helped.

Okay that is really good to know. So with that being positive and the other being high it makes sense she diagnosed her even without the endoscopy. So glad we caught it early. She had so many symptoms though that to me it was clear something was wrong.   yeah I think we had better test us and the other kids as well.
    • GlorietaKaro
One doctor suggested it, but then seemed irritated when I asked follow-up questions. Oh well—
