Wow, this is quietest I've ever seen it here?!

Must be nice weather and a holiday weekend.

Nik, a holiday just por vous!!

Sounds like everyone had very nice weather--yeah! We did, too. Couldn't ask for better, but I do have to work tomorrow--earlier than normal

Suze's party was an almost bust? Too bad Suze, sorry it wasn't great. May all your charitable hoedowns be grand affairs.

Patty, glad the weather is closer to normal for y'all.

Uh, Judy???? Has anybody seen poor Judy lately? I'm askeert she hasn't been out of the dungeon in a while.

Emily, hope your dad is feeling better.

Neroli--get your butt contiguous, lady!

Jess, how's motherhood treating you? Have they asked to borrow the car yet? Careful--they might cluck it up. I always heard chicks can't drive

Gotta go to sleep. My contacts are so dry they are self ejecting.

---***********NIK IS 40 TOMORROW***********-----

loved this whole post, Mimms.

Was worried about Judith also, JUDITH!!!!!!!!!!! she did such a quick poop-in, maybe she's still in the dungeon?

OMG....this reminds me of something that has nothing whatsoever to do with allergies!! Been meaning to tell you all about an incredible trick for a big, painful, deep plantars wart, should anyone be unlucky enough to grow one. DH has had one on his foot for months. None of the commercial products did a thing, and he was about to go in for the weekly burning treatments at the clinic. Well, I read some time ago about the incredible healing properties of clove oil, particularly for warts. I bought some, and DH put a drop on his wart, covered it with a band-aid, and repeated the next day. That night, the entire wart, root and all, came out. In two days. Very disgusting, I should say - -a huge hole has been left in his foot.

'Tis a scary magic, methinks.

I am tempted to put a drop on the next zit I get on my face .. .........but it may make my entire head disappear.

On the first day, she sadly packed her belongings into boxes, crates and

suitcases.

On the second day, she had the movers come and collect her things.

On the third day, she sat down for the last time at their beautiful

dining room table, by candle-light; she put on some soft background music, and

feasted on a pound of shrimp, a jar of caviar, and a bottle of spring

water.

When she'd finished, she went into each and every room and deposited a

few half-eaten shrimps dipped in caviar into the hollow center of the curtain

rods. She then cleaned up the kitchen and left.

On the fourth day, the husband came back with his new girlfriend, and at

first all was bliss. Then, slowly, the house began to smell.

They tried everything; cleaning, mopping, and airing-out the place. Vents

were checked for dead rodents, and carpets were steam cleaned. Air

fresheners were hung everywhere. Exterminators were brought in to set off gas

canisters, during which time the two had to move out for a few days, and in

the end they even paid to replace the expensive wool carpeting. Nothing

worked!

People stopped coming over to visit. Repairmen refused to work in the

house. The maid quit.

Finally, they couldn't take the stench any longer, and decided they had to

move, but a month later - even though they'd cut their price in half,

they couldn't find a buyer for such a stinky house.

Word got out, and eventually even the local realtors refused to return

their calls.

Finally unable to wait any longer for a purchaser, they had to borrow a

huge sum of money from the bank to purchase a new place.

Then the ex-wife called the man and asked how things were going. He told

her the saga of the rotting house. She listened politely and said that she

missed her old home terribly and would be willing to reduce her divorce

settlement in exchange for having the house.

Knowing she could have no idea how bad the smell really was, he agreed on

a price that was only 1/10th of what the house had been worth ... but only

if she would sign the papers that very day.

She agreed, and within two hours his lawyers delivered the completed

paperwork.

A week later the man and his girlfriend stood smiling as they watched the

moving company pack everything to take to their new home.

... And to spite the ex-wife, they even took the curtain rods!

I LOVE A HAPPY ENDING, DON'T YOU?

Looking for help sourcing gluten-free products that do not contain potato or corn derived ingredients. I have other autoimmune conditions (Psoriatic Arthritis and Sjogrens) so I’m looking for prepared foods as I have fatigue and cannot devote a lot of time to baking my own treats.

I am so sorry you're going through this. It's completely understandable to feel frustrated, stressed, and disregarded after such a long and difficult health journey. It's exhausting to constantly advocate for yourself, especially when you're dealing with so many symptoms and positive diagnoses like SIBO, while still feeling unwell. The fact that you have been diligently following the diet without relief is a clear sign that something else is going on, and your doctors should be investigating other causes or complications, not dismissing your very real suffering.
    • Oldturdle
It is just so sad that health care in the United States has come to this.  Health insurance should be available to everyone, not just the healthy or the rich.  My heart goes out to you.  I would not hesitate to have the test and pay for it myself.  My big concern would be how you could keep the results truly private.  I am sure that ultimately, you could not.  A.I. is getting more and more pervasive, and all data is available somewhere.  I don't know if you could give a fake name, or pay for your test with cash.  I certainly would not disclose any positive results on a private insurance application.  As I understand it, for an official diagnosis, an MD needs to review your labs and make the call.  If you end up in the ER, or some other situation, just request a gluten free diet, and say it is because you feel better when you don't eat gluten.      Hang in there, though.  Medicare is not that far away for you, and it will remove a lot of stress from your health care concerns.  You will even be able to "come out of the closet" about being Celiac!
    • plumbago
Yes, I've posted a few times about two companies: Request a Test and Ulta Labs. Also, pretty much we can all request any test we want (with the possible exception of the N protein Covid test and I'm sure a couple of others) with Lab Corp (or Pixel by Lab Corp) and Quest. I much prefer Lab Corp for their professionalism, ease of service and having it together administratively, at least in DC. And just so you know, Request a Test uses Lab Corp and Quest anyway, while Ulta Labs uses only Quest. Ulta Labs is cheaper than Request a Test, but I am tired of dealing with Quest, so I don't use them so much.

PS - I think you meant this site, but I don't believe it has been updated in years: http://glutenfreedrugs.com/ so it is best to use: You can search this site for prescriptions medications, but will need to know the manufacturer/maker if there is more than one, especially if you use a generic version of the medication: To see the ingredients you will need to click on the correct version of the medication and maker in the results, then scroll down to "Ingredients and Appearance" and click it, and then look at "Inactive Ingredients," as any gluten ingredients would likely appear there, rather than in the Active Ingredients area. https://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/
