My tubes are tied in a double knot.....then seared with a hot poker, then a couple o' clamps (just to be sure ;) )

Good morning everyone:) <<sleepyface>>

I saw Theresa's name down there--raising my coffee cup in salute :)

Hi Sillies-

I know I have been away for awhile and I had told ya all I was coming back well things at work have gotten more chaotic than usual. We are getting ready to move to our new cancer institute building at the beginning of July. So on top of the already high case load we all have- I currently have almost 70 patients on active tx and then another 180 just hanging out so my work days are full and lately I have been putting in extra hours or taking work home.

John and I are doing well- John just turned 32 and told me he was old....crazy! He went back to work about a week ago after having that time off from surgery.

So thats the good news.....

Now the news that has me having a hard time finding my silly. I found out I was pregnant a few weeks ago. We didnt tell anyone just in case....well turns out that was a good thing. I suffered an early loss over the weekend. I know it wasn't like I was very far along but still- we had both been so happy. I am trying to see the positive of this since my gyn told me that an early loss happens when the pregnancy can be defective and your body is flushing it out. SO I am looking forward to the coming weeks and hoping we get there again. I was told my body is ready and we have a better chance of getting pregnant now so here's to that.

I have had the pleasure of getting the betty crocker mixes not only are they awesome but the price is good. I am impressed!

So I will try not to be such a stranger these days...I am slowly trying to find my way back...

Oh amanda, I'm so sorry honey. That was sad, and scary, and discouraging for both of you. <<<<HUGS>>>>

Sweetie, do come pop around here more often for hugs and laughs, OK?

we'll never tell how we knew

BUT OMG!!!!!! I wanna come to this cottage!!! Be there tomorrow, around 6 B) this sounds absolutely PERFECT, Mimms!!!!!!! have a great time!

Twas Nikki, NON?! Thanks, Nik :lol:

Thank you all for the kind b-day wishes!!!! you all.

HAPPY BIRFDAY, RAYCHULL!!!!!

Whew!....I almost missed it!

Thanks for the b-day wishes :)

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and happy wishes

Turning 41 isn't very exciting. Kind of like having a regular period after a couple are irregular--you're expecting it, you're happy it came but not so glad it's there <_<

Going up north for the weekend.

The cottage is small and sweet. It has the modern conveniences, needs a little work. It bleongs to my in-laws. We go several times a year. It is pretty "cosy" and the area is way too populated for someone looking for peace and quiet or to "Get back to nature". Houghton Lake/Prudenville has a Wal-mart, a Big-Boy (is that only a Michigan thing?), and a JC Penney. But, the lake is pretty, and we always have a nice time B)

See you guys!!

Love--R

Have a super weekend in the woods, Rayechull!

The Ripper is in the woods as we speak - - he's at The 116th Cub Scout Troupe Campout in Athens, Ontario (1.5 hours into cottage country......a lake, trails, a bog, mosquitos, y'know. . ...typical June camping stuff). Wretchedly unhappy that I did not manage to volunteer myself along on this trip with fifteen 11 and 12-year old boys. HA! .. . . Needed to enlarge that "ha", to fully communicate the strength of sarcasm dripping from it. . ....

Did I tell you all that my DD got herself a summer job at the new McDonald's that has opened about a five-minute bike ride from here?

She is SO proud of herself, and when I dropped in for her first shift on Wednesday, I watched her behind the cash as I hid at the back of her lineup. There she was, decked out in her official uniform, li'l nametag, funny cap on her head with her hair pulled through the back, punching things through the cash, racing to get the combos, making sundaes, smiling broadly at each customer she faced, showing off her fantastic new upper retainer.... . . ...

This is one of the new McDonalds that will be eventually replacing all the others in time. I was agog when I walked in: big screen TVS everywhere, circular marble tables, cozy booths along the sides, a big fireplace . .. .......

:huh::huh:

What in hell is going on here?

Think I wanna job there.

I had a relative who had her tubes tied and still got pregnant. Turns out, she had an extra set! :o

Mygawd.....do NOT want an extra set of tubes. Extra boobs, maybe - - nice ones that would sit up top, ones that I could show off. . . ..... <_<

Glad to hear you are almost through this heinosity, Leeesar. .. ....

And you guys are going dancing!!! :) PHAB NEWS!! Brian will be whipping around on his new leg. . . ..can he quickly unstrap it and swing it in the air for dramatic line and effect? Tip his hat off with it and balance it on the toe? The possibilities!. . .

:huh::lol:

POeter! Were you at that huge doggie event in T.O. today?

Judyin Philly Enthusiast

Hi All

Sorry I've been away so long. :o

I just read this page and haven't read any pages before for soooooooooooooooooo long.

I was so down but seem to be better as a new med seems to be working.

Seeing a Dr. who knows his meds.

I'm so sensitive my internist was leery to try anything else new.

I've finally stopped 'spinning' and can focus on living and actually can get things accomplished

Porch is finally finished but the contractors still haven't been back to finish in 3 weeks. The counters are in however. Getting closets all cleaned out. Just taking a task a day and having the 'panic' feelings i did before.

I was even able to gather my mind and inner strength and fly to Ohio for my 50th HS reunion.

It was so nice to see all my old friends. I graduated in a class of 123 and 25 of us are in a 12 years club as we went from 1-12 th grade all together.

It was a small very close class.

Funny, the men seem to age so much more than the women..................IMO ;)

It was worth the trip even tho coming home...........i went to the airport and waited through 5 plane cancellations..........finally i had to take a cab and go back to my brothers for an extra nite.

I so enjoyed staying with my brother and his wife.

Got to see my 93 year old uncle at his farm in the hocking hills. I seem to find my inner core when I go to his log cabin where there are so many family memories.

Then got to see my cousin who who near death on Good Friday but got a liver transplant and we saw her in rehab. She on the faculty at OSU hospital. All the Dr's were pulling for her so i'm sure that helped.

I was able to visit with Joan........my HS friend from Temecula and we looked at some houses on her MLS listings on her computer. She and her dh came over to my brothers for a afternoon.

She is just an amazing woman. A realtor, lawyer, and flies her own plane. I can sure use her positive energy in my life now.

Em is your Dad out of the hospital.

Nikki what kind of a stone did you lose?

Rachel.......happy birthday and enjoy the cabin

Patti..hi --hope you feel better

Susie.......did you pull up your carpet

Lisa........hope you stop crackling in your lungs  and Brian dancing........such great news.

Probably left someone out and if i did so sorry

Amanda........left you for last............

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. when we lost our first one like you the dr said the same thing but that we COULD get pregnant so that is good.

it took 10 years but we finally had our son...............

I doesn't help your sense of loss. I lost ours on Mothers Day of all days.

Thanks for all the well wishes while i was MIA

I would come on and read off and on.

It's been 5 1/2 months since I've had a cig and today just found a full pack in a old purse while cleaning.........................when will this craving ever go away?

Well going to post this on the 'smoking' thread as i haven't been there in ages either.

if i don't post ................ it's not cause i don't love you all.

Just not spending much time on the computer

I did miss you guys! :D

No, we didn't go to Woofstock. We went last year, but this year it was on the same weekend as our local BIA street festival. Once a year, on the second Saturday in June, they have this big do on Yonge Street around Lawrence. We missed it last year, due to another business commitment out of town. This year's Village Day was a disappointment. We planned for an extra busy day, but it was just a typical Saturday.

What a GREAT post, Jooooodie! It feels so good to read you again. Glad you're on a new med that seems to be helping, and 5 1/2 months smoke-free??! AWESOME.

My dad is still in the hospital......he is booked for a second kidney surgery on June 23rd... . ..we'll see if he is strong enough. Thanks for asking about him! You are amazing, remembering all of our issues while you're so busy with your own... ... :)

Judyin Philly Enthusiast

Going downstairs but just wanted to ck back as i posted on the smoking thread too

Em, so sorry about your Dad.

Was he able to get out of the hospital at all since that first surgery?

This has been a really long hall for him.

God Bless him and you for being such a sweet strong supportive daughter

congts too on Ripper at camp and Sopie getting a job

Too bad she can't get you 'free' food you can eat. ;)

Got up to 97 earlier--it's 88 now at about 9:15PM. We went and did some grocery shopping this evening--it's so much more comfortable to go at night. At least there's a nice breeze.

Yeah--quiet day here in da ville......

Something else I was going to say, but I forget.......it'll come to me.

It is not a great picture. It shows the big sign, but not the entrance. The door in the photo is the back way into the basement.

It's just such a rare occurrence, both the shopping for shoes, and finding them. I needed some for my interview, and found a bonus pair! :D

I think, after reading this, that you areso traumatized by not being able yo understand what your medical advisors have been  what medical conditions are that you would like to find a group of people who also feel traumatized who would agree with you and also support you. You are on a crusade much as the way the US Cabinet  official, the Health Director of our nation is in trying to change what he considers outdated and incorrect health advisories. He does not have the education, background or experience to be in the position he occupies and is not making beneficial decisions. That man suffered a terrible trauma early in his life when his father was assonated. We see now how he developed and worked himself into a powerful position.  Unless you are willing to take some advice or  are willing to use a few of the known methods of starting on a path to better health then not many of us on this Celiac Forum will be able to join you in a continuing series of complaints about medical advisors.    I am almost 90 years old. I am strictly gluten free. I use 2 herbs to help me stay as clear minded as possible. You are not wrong in complaining about medical practitioners. You might be more effective with a clearer mind, less anger and a more comfortable life if you would just try some of the suggestions offered by our fellow celiac volunteers.

Thus has got to STOP , medical bit believing us! I literally went through 31 years thinking it was just a food allergy as its downplayed by medical if THEY weren't the ones who diagnosed us! Im positive for HLA-DQ2 which is first celiac patient per Iran and Turkey. Here in the States especially in Cali its why do you feel that way? Why do you think your celiac? Your not eating gluten so its something else.Medical caused me depression. I thought I was safe with my former pcp for 25 years considering i thought everything I went through and going through will be available when I get fired again for health. Health not write-ups my health always come back when you're better.Im not and being tossed away at no fault to my own other than shitty genes.I was denied disability because person said he didn't know how to classify me! I said Im celiac, i have ibs, hernia, sciatica, high blood pressure, in constant pain have skin and eye issues and menopause intensified everything. With that my celiac nightmare began to reprove my disregarded disease to a bunch of clowns who think they are my careteam when they said I didn't have...I feel Im still breathing so I can fight this so no body else has to deal with this nightmare. Starting over with " new care team" and waisting more time on why I think I am when diagnosed in 1994 before food eliminated from my diet. P.s everything i went through I did write to medical board, so pretty sure I will continue to have a hard time.

@Scatterbrain, Thiamine Vitamin B1 and amino acid Taurine work together.  Our bodies can make Taurine from meats consumed.  Our bodies cannot make Thiamine and must consume thiamine from food.  Meat is the best source of B vitamins like Thiamine.   Vegetarians may not make sufficient taurine since they don't eat meat sources of taurine.  Seaweed is the best vegetarian source of taurine. Vegetarians may not consume sufficient Thiamine since few veggies are good sources.  Whole grains, legumes, and nuts and seeds contain thiamine.  Many of these sources can be hard to digest and absorb for people with Celiac disease.   You may find taking the forms of thiamine called Benfotiamine or TTFD (tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide) and a B Complex will give the benefits you're looking for better than taurine alone.

@Jmartes71, I went to Doterra's site and had a look around.  The Doterra TerraZyme supplement really jumped out at me.  Since we, as Celiacs, often have digestive problems, I looked at the ingredients.  The majority of the enzymes in this supplement are made using black mold, Aspergillus!  Other enzymes are made by yeast Saccharomyces!  Considering the fact that Celiac often have permeable intestines (leaky gut syndrome), I would be very hesitant to take a product like this.  Although there may not be live black mold or yeast in the product, the enzymes may still cause an immune system response which would definitely cause inflammation throughout the body.   Skin, eyes, and intestines are all made from the same basic type of cells.  Your skin on the outside and eyes can reflect how irritated the intestines are on the inside.  Our skin, eyes, and intestines all need the same vitamins and nutrients to be healthy:  Vitamin A, Niacin B3 and Tryptophan, Riboflavin B2, Biotin B7, Vitamin C, and Omega Threes.  Remember that the eight B vitamins work together.  Just taking high doses of just one, vitamin like B12, can cause a deficiency in the others.  Taking high doses of B12 can mask a Folate B9 deficiency.  If you take B12, please take a B Complex, too.  Thiamine B1 can be taken in high doses safely without toxicity.  Thiamine is needed by itself to produce energy so every cell in the body can function, but Thiamine also works with the other B vitamins to make life sustaining enzymes and digestive enzymes.  Deficiencies in either Niacin, Vitamin C, or Thiamine can cause digestive problems resulting in Pellagra, Scurvy, and Gastrointestinal Beriberi.   If you change your diet, you will change your intestinal microbiome.  Following the Autoimmune Protocol Diet, a Paleo diet, will starve out SIBO bacteria.  Thiamine keeps bacteria in check so they don't get out of control as in SIBO.  Thiamine also keeps MOLDS and Yeasts from overgrowth.   Menopause symptoms and menstrual irregularities are symptomatic of low Vitamin D.   Doctors are not as knowledgeable about malnutrition as we need them to be.  A nutritionist or dietician would be more helpful.   Take control of your diet and nutrition.  Quit looking for a pill that's going to make you feel better overnight.  The Celiac journey is a marathon, not a sprint.   "Let food be your medicine, and let medicine be your food."

The Lindt (Lindor) dairy-free oat milk truffles are definitely gluten-free, and (last time I checked) so are the white chocolate truffles and the mint chocolate truffles.
