It is a good thing, methinks, that we are outta here today, and off to Banff. Fresh mountain air, stronger capacity toilets.....and we each get our own bed. B)

WIH!!!! Blocked toilet here as well. Has someone cursed we vacationers??? Come on, fess up. Who's holdin' the voodoo dolls?

Nikerler, ingest some of my "sleep" drugs and begin ironing the tablecloths.

Mimms, I'm putting you in charge of organizing the parade and the marshmallows to shoot from the guns.

They taste exactly like the old Batty Crocker brownies, which happened to be me phav mix ever! I added a bunch of chopped walnuts, too.

Last night, Mark and I listened to Earth, Wind and Fire, and Chicago in the park. They were playing in the pavillion, which is open-air, so you can hear the music all over the neighborhood.

I always knew that broad was off her rocker!...........................not you, Patteigh! :P

You had Earth Wind and Fire AND Chicago at yer park????????

Yep! It's a perk of living across the park from the pavillion where they hold the concerts. :) In the cooler weather, our apartment management has parties on the roof when certain artists perform over there. Every weekend, you can simply take a walk around here and hear the live music.....

good Lord. Do all the Brits do this much ironing, or just our Nik? I pull my ironing board out about.......thrice a year  Because, well, I only wear ironed clothes for job interviews (or a profeshunal job, if I had one), weddings, adn funerals. as it should be. ;) I like my linen shirts just out of the dryer and not too crisp, thank you.

$10?? What a bargain. If I ahd 80 channels of cable I would never leave the house. Heck, I'd prolly never shower or cook either, just order take-out and stay in my sweats.

I LOVE that you do that! I have actually been thinking about installing on of those old fashioned lazy susan style clothes lines out back to save energy.

Went to the beach today--last minute invite from the neihbor. We took the kids swimming, twas fun. Now on to fixin' up the evenin' slop (burgers, salads, yellow string beans). Seriously thinking of puttting an above ground pool in the back yard. Let's see, how can I make some cash?????

All right. I do a form of "line dry" meselfh most of the year. Have a dryer rack thingy in the garage, so, I just drape everything over it (and everything else) all the time, then put in dryer for about 10 minutes or so. My utility bills are shockingly cheap in the summer, partially because of this (I paid $40 last month and people are quite jealous over this).

Nik. Yeah, just come out here for a while and you'll change her ways.

A fine day of weather here, with much of it spent out on the deck.

Much more of it spent in the kitchen. We have made a loaf of GFP French bread, baked three pizza crusts from the GFP French bread mix, and made lasagna. The latter is cooling as I type and will be ready to serve in five minutes.

The instructions say that the Gluten-Free Pantry mix makes two crusts, but we prefer a thinner crust so we make three.

Ah, Soooozeeee, waaaaiting for the cable guy. When he phinally shows up, do not succumb to the temptation to wrap the cable around his neck and slowly tighten it. You may feel justiphied in doing so, but I think the California Penal Code frowns on the practice.

Ah, me Psills, I is still here; have been reading along but having trouble responding. Had to have my arm in a cast for a while so I couldn't bend me elbow whilst the wound healed; then hassling with this 'puter (laptop) which probly should be on the lap and not the table because the cursor is cursed and I spend half the day cursin' it :( My gaawwd, the langwhich  Stoopid cursor jumps all over da page, deletes whole paragraphs, sometimes whole messages, leaves me typing one sentence in the middle of anudder, wif a bung arm to boot :( (still not allowed to bend de elbow, but have a huge wad of cotton bandaged in there now to prevent that.) Although these are nice peeps, I had to tell them what to do to fix it otherwise I still wouldn't be healed, but on Friday refused to have that cast back on <_< and came up with this solution instead.

So much has happened...

Em has become a YeeeHaaaw cowgirl; I can just see her out there ropin' steers and bull ridin'

Giannit's daughter is getting married and Brian is going to dance at the wedding :D x 100

Jess is getting all philosophical (phunny dat, didn't have to change the spelling)

PadT is masquerading as someone else....but looks good...

Nik is still!!! ironing clothes cause she dries them in the sun. One thing I learned--the sun's heat does not press clothes, or at least not the way one wants them to look. I is definitely a California girl, much to the consternation of Kiwis who use that whirlygig thingy with clothespins and keep taking them in and putting them back out because you can nae trust the weather; and much to my consternation when I get my power bill :( I only keeps the ironing board for guests. Have to buy all my clothes here because Kiwis make clothes that say "hand wash, lay flat to dry". Now who wants their house looking like a french laundry?? I ask yer! Even french laundries don't look that bad! And anyways, when I lived in London you couldn't hang them out to dry because they would turn blackgrey :o

Soozle is sizzlin' even more as she waits for her Comcast man with big thums and it sounds like she might be sozzled before he gets there. And, Soozle, once you gets your 80 channels there will still be nought to watch :o

David Hasselhof

I'm investigating the possibility of having celiac disease. My kid has Coffins Lowery syndrome, a rare form of Austism, and constantly has these CVS episodes. We suspect it could be related to Gluten sensitivity or celiac. We just started the diet last week, and we'll keep an eye on any improvements.
    • Alibu
@Scott Adams thank you again!  You definitely 100% get it!!  It's so helpful to know that what I'm going through is normal and part of the process. My endoscopy just got scheduled for June 10 (I'm going to be traveling or else they could have gotten me in earlier) so I have 2 more weeks of eating gluten.  I'm assuming I should just go to the endoscopy and start going gluten free as soon as it's done?  Or should I wait for the biopsy to come back just in case they have to repeat something?
    • trents
Welcome to the forum, @NightRaven92! The symptoms you describe definitely align with celiac disease or at least NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity). That, and the family history of celiac disease, certainly warrant being tested for it. The first stage of diagnosis involves blood tests looking for antibodies that are more or less specific to celiac disease. If the blood antibody testing is positive, there is usually a second level diagnostic procedure for confirmation involving an endoscopy/biopsy of the small bowel lining, looking for the damage caused by celiac disease. So, when you go to your appointment, I would suggest approaching your doctor this way to simplify the experience: 1. For six weeks I have been experiencing stomach cramps, diarrhea, feverishness, headaches and joint pain when I consume wheat products. 2. I have relatives with celiac disease and other autoimmune disorders such as Hashimoto's thyroid disease. 3. I would like to be tested for celiac disease. Would you be willing to order the TTG-IGA antibody test and a total IGA test? TTG-IGA stands for "Tissue Transglutaminase Immunoglobulin A". Total IGA is also known as "Immunoglobulin A (IgA) test" (Note: the TTG-IGA is the "centerpiece" of celiac antibody testing. There are others but this one is the most important and the most popular one with physicians. But is also very important to have total IGA checked since if you are IGA deficient, it will produce artificially lower TTG-IGA scores and possible false negatives for this one and other IGA antibody tests as well.) It's very important that you not begin cutting back on gluten consumption before the antibody test blood draw.

Hey so on June 18th next month,I made an appointment next month with my doctor, because I think what could be causing my symptoms,is related to Celiac Disease. Here is my symptoms & stuff..so anyway autoimmune disease runs on my mom's side of the family. My grandma has an autoimmune disease related to her thyroid,& my aunt has Celiac Disease. I have been having my symptoms for almost 6 weeks now, from what I have noticed anyway. My symptoms are:Stomach pain/cramping,chronic diarrhea,I will feel feverish out of nowhere,I get alot of headaches & pain in my joints,& I noticed that literally after I consume anything with gluten in it,I will get nausea, sick to my stomach, pain in my abdomen & around my stomach,& not to mention the diarrhea that can often come out as very painful afterwards,if I consume gluten foods. I have not felt well in what feels like forever & that's of course why I made a dr appointment. Anyway I could really use some advice on this & how I could maybe bring my symptoms up with my dr without confusing her too much..thanks in advance..
    • trents
Welcome to the forum, @Marky0320! Simple nausea and emesis is common with celiac disease when gluten is ingested but I have not heard of a connection between CVS and celiac disease per se. Are you asking this question as one who has already been officially diagnosed with celiac disease or as someone who is investigating the possibility of having celiac disease?
