Gah! Zumba is great fun! Well, my hip flexors and lower abs are certainly sore the next day, as you really get a lot of hip action happening.

Simply put a bit of ethanol in yer water bottle. <_<

I bet you'll love it, Leeeeesargh! You could probably teach it.. .. . ....!

Lawsuit... . . ......... .. .good luck with all of that........be thinking about you guys. . . . .

Crappydappydingdong, gone for a day and I miss so much!!! DD and I had a great day yesterday, amazing breakfast and an intense Skip-Bo game, lost my new fancy sunglasses, found a perfect pair of 7 jeans for 65$(!!!), a fab lunch at PF Changs, and we even got matchymatchy haircuts-but not at PF Changs :P Then we got home, her friend came over and she forgot all about me

Aw...I love it when sillies can meet up in real life!

And a wee bit jealous

Me too. If anyone gets to Seattle, let me know, I'll drive up! It only takes me about 2 hours (shhhhhh....) Hopefully will be able to see Geoss in May....

HURRY UP!!

I think we're onto summat here....having explained to my friends about Stanley they've been BRIMMING with ideas of photo opportunities (NONE of which are suitable for children  )

I think in particular the college/uni students would take to it!

You must take these pictures anyway and show US!!

OMG . . . anybody else visualizing Elmer Fudd doing a strip-tease??? . . . Oh my eyes!!!! . . . somebody make it stop!!!

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

Just picked up a winter's worth of dog poo out of the back yard . . . a least it wasnt' too heavy . . . it was mostly dehydrated . . . TMI??. Jo-Dog helped by running around and barking at leaves!!

At least he wasn't eating the poo like my deceased dog did, but I suppose it would have saved you some time :lol:

I'm Baaaaack!

Glad you're home safe, sound, and in 1 piece! I'm jealous, I've not been able to get up there this year :(

WTF????????????????

But I think I've got it!

Let's see.....

So it turns out that if you help the bartender at a fundraiser she makes sure that you have plenty to drink, don't remember what she was making, but it had lots of rum. Fortunately, one person decided not to drink so we got rides home.

OK......this is where it gets tricky....

Have to go back tomorrow to help clean up and there's all these fish to deal with, and a huge bucket of Indian food in the fridge. I think I'm one of the more sober ones.

Are you sure about that?

Have to sleep.

I've had quite a bit to drink. Something with rum and coconut and something green.

WHEW!!!!

Good God woman, you are a GENIUS!!!!

I can get a hemp milk latte if i go early... far too difficult a thing to think about right now.

That is sooooo San Juans   Do you live on Orcas, cuz my sister lived on Orcas for a few years-she stopped bathing too

ah screw it, i'm not bathing. no one will notice.

See above.....

Egads!!!:blink::P

Almost reminds me of undergrad--used to work in the molecular biology lab for our advisor in the evenings till very late, but sometimes we dipped into the 100% EtoH.

One pretty, brilliant and hardworking gal (now a brilliant physician, but still a very good friend) awoke the next am on the lab bench surrounded by giggling freshman biology students. Maybe one day she'll see this post. I hope not.

:blink::D

My first experience with my to-be-inlaws was in college when the took me with them on their Mexico vacation. We were 19, and they "let" us out one night by ourselves to take the party bus downtown Puerto Villarta. Well, a million drinks later, a taxi driver that is probably STILL blushing 13 years later, and I woke up with the parents standing around me trying to wake me up to go on a snorkeling expedition. I was still totally wasted and had to get on a boat for 6 hours.......

totally. i just saw those two together. Finishing up the weekend of alcohol with a midori martini (that was the gree stuff).

Glad the Fry-baby and mommy both had fun weekends.

Not sure I can find the dog genetics paper again. Awesome that they are sequencing the different breeds. The shar pei wrinkly skin appears to come from a gene that controls skin thickness. Their skin is really thick and starts bunching up on itself (know that from someone else, wasn't in the paper).

I gotta sleep.

I've been constantly meaning to comment on yer av, Jyesss, but your drunken key-pounding has been distracting me .. . .. ....I, too, would love to see this graph up close. Fascinating to me is not so much HOW a dog breed's distinguishing characteristics came to be, but WHY. My sub-standards' curly, oiled hair was bred in to handle lake/sea water, as was their webbed feet.. . ....some terriers' ridiculously short legs to get themselves easily in and out of rodent holes... .. . . .and that mass of wrinkled, extra skin on the pushed-in faces of the bulldogs, to keep their features protected from bull's hooves as the dog latched on to a neck or thigh.... . . ...so efficient man and nature can be, when working together, methinks.... . . ..

SO: Why in hell have I got a great big stomach?? Isn't helping me much to retrieve ducks, or bait bulls, or scurry after rats... ... <_<

I just got home from cleaning up and now I need to go to my SIL 's birthday party, which I thought started at 5 but really starts at 4 and I need to shower but I'm eating some spinach first (before dinner, but hers won't be as good, since it's not indian).

What happened to the fish? Did they get turned into Kabobs?

This is what I got when I googled:

Maybe this dog will come with us when we become shepards. She looks like she has already got the drinking part down.

Uh, oh.... . ... . ........Dada.. .. . . ....are you a mathS person, too??. . . . . . ....We is surrounded.. . . . ......

Um, what is Etoh? Japanese... . ... .....rum? Wodka? Some molecular concoction?

You know, this very thought often flashes through me mind, as well..... .. . . . ...I speak here about any number of entertaining characters that file through my life - - relatives, neighboUrs, hired workmen, co-workers, my mom's cleaning lady from childhood - - thinking, "there is no way they will EVER be on this forum". However, a little voice is always whispering, "you DO realize how many new gluten intolerants/celiacs are diagnosed worldwide each DAY? And how many of them surf the web, looking for answers and support? Mr. Chow could ABSOLUTELY be reading along".... .. . ....... . . . ........ . . .

Gads.

I am not a math person but my oldest son is. Likes to calculate sizes of gears needed to spin something & turn somethin.....(snore) However, I did know what ETOH is.

Do wonder if someone may read this & realize I'm making fun of them. Maybe should change my name & location & picture. Who should I change to.... Heidi Klum, Betty White...

Sounds like a nice day.

Definitely want to see what old Stan is doing when the kids aren't looking.

Tahoe was beautiful. The first few days we had a condo on the beach. Good thing the view outside was good.

Large "deletion mutations" of that sort aren't viable 99.999,999% of the time, but are known to produce extremely virulent toxicological effects if propagated. Think weapons grade!

Hopefully it fizzles out, only affecting patient zero and the ones hugging/kissing it, but that might be just wishful thinking.

Hmm, did the cartoonist forget to draw the egg that baby came from!!? My 9 yr old says it looks like this one.:o

I'm seriously worried for Dada's child. What kind of catalog does that child have & does he save his allowance & toothfairy money to purchase stuff like that egg?

That video is not too far off from the truth. ON the way from Missouri to Las Vegas (then to reno) they felt the person who should have an extra pat-down was my 14 year old son traveling with his parents & brother. WE must appear very scary.

We used to worry, as his favorites have always had to have stingers, spikes, claws or suction cups, to his mom's dismay. At 2, his favorites were "architeuthis giant squid" and any kind of dangerous creature. "No, I don't want a puppy Mommy--Daddy said not all tarantulas are poisonous. Please Mommy?"

:ph34r::(

Good kid though--he guards me from my gluten monsters. It's the 3 yr old (who likes puppies) that I have to worry about. Last week she put her gluten finger in my mouth on purpose.

My boys are 14 & 17. Older one would have liked a tarantula or snake, younger - a large lizard. We decided we couldn't take care of them to keep them happy. Have had rescued rodents: a rat & several guinea pigs. Never a giant squid or cute kitten. Lizard might eat kitten?

threaten to feed her to whatever dangerous creature her brother ends up with.

I mean...with which her brother ends up

no...up with which, her brother ends

The genetic testing results you provided indicate that your child carries two copies of the HLA-DQ2.5 beta chain (DQ Beta 1 *02:01, *02:01), which is a high-risk genetic marker for celiac disease. However, the alpha chain (DQ Alpha 1 *05:01, *05) is only partially present, as HLA-DQ2.5 typically requires the alpha chain *05:01 paired with the beta chain 02:01. Since your child has two copies of the beta chain (02:01) but only one full *05:01 alpha allele (the other appears truncated as *05), this suggests they are heterozygous for HLA-DQ2.5 rather than homozygous. The term "permissive for celiac disease" means your child has genetic susceptibility but not necessarily the highest-risk genotype (homozygous DQ2.5). Since celiac disease development also depends on environmental triggers and other factors, further testing (such as antibody screening or biopsy) may be needed to confirm a diagnosis. Consulting a genetic counselor or gastroenterologist can help clarify these results and next steps.

As my doctor said, you don't have to eat breakfast food for breakfast.  I may have a leftover piece of chicken and left over squash or eggs or I am actually more likely to skip breakfast as I do intermittent fasting.  In that case I eat lunch around 11:30 and have some guacamole and a salad with chicken or tuna.  For dinner I have pork, shrimp, chicken, lamb, or turkey with half a baked sweet potato and some broccoli, green beans, beets, carrots or cauliflower.  I do not eat any grains on the advice of my doctor.  I do not eat commercially processed products, even if they say they are gluten-free.  I make Warrior Bread every few weeks.  It has no yeast and contains almond flour and dried sweet potato.  Very tasty too.  A good book to help in this regard is No Grain, No Pain by Peter Osborne.  Thankfully, I can eat coconut and nuts and use those flours in baking and also use nut milks in cooking.  Since I am allergic to chocolate and vanilla, lemon is my go to flavor for something sweet.  My migraines totally disappeared once I went gluten and casein free.  I can occasionally eat certain high fat cheeses that are low in casein, as well as grass fed butter.  I use lots of Organic Olive and Avocado oil. The problems I thought I had with nightshades went away when I went fully organic.  And, the rest of my issues went away by avoiding the foods I tested positive to as well as avoiding all grains. I will be the first one to say that it is a very expensive way of eating, but thankfully we can afford to eat that way.  The good news is that I take no prescription meds at age 72.  At 54 before diagnosis, I was a mess and on a boatload of pharmaceuticals.

With that many foods removed from your diet, what do you eat?  I also have histamine issues and migraines so that takes out certain trigger foods and high histamine vegetables.  Have allergies to coconut and issues with nuts so those are out.  I'm beginning to think I may have to remove dairy and some of the grains beyond wheat to get allergies under control.  Just having so many issues figuring out what to make at meal times.  What's a typical breakfast look like for you?  Thanks.

@Healthforme, No prescription needed for thiamine hydrochloride, Benfotiamine, and TTFD (Tetrahydrofurfuryl Disulfide).  They are available over the counter.   Thiamine Mononitrate is not recommended because the body doesn't absorb or utilize it well.
