My least fave is the sperm trees. There's some kinda tree that got imported hundreds of years ago that smells like sperm when it blooms. Just WHY? WHY would you plant more?

At least there is no perfume fashioned after this pear tree.

You know, back in the days when I knew no better, I was quite enamoured of this tree and was proposing to plant one right beside our deck, where we used to sit on spring and summer evenings to provide a meal for the skeeters No, I didn't plant something else, I just phorgot about it, thank goodness.

Having a 50th birthday party here this Saturday night for DH. He is MUCH, MUCH older than I. There will be about twenty people, just family and a few close friends. (Um, guess who is flying in tomorrow, 5:42 pm?). . . . ...

Saturday night is coincidentally the final night of Jack's musical production, which actually works out well because almost everyone who is coming to the party will be heading to the musical afterwards. It'll be one big convoy.. . .. ..

SOosoosooOoO, I have to clean the entire house and the yard in case we are out on the deck, hit groceries and the liquor store... . . ....and the big thing: I decided four days ago to do a painting for DH. I am about half-finished.....it must be dry, matted and framed by Friday night.

So WHAT IN HELL am I doing on here??. . .

We gots a new baby. His name is Simon and he's a sweet little bunny. I can't post a pic from here, but perhaps I shall change my Lilikoi picture to a Simon picture... He is super spoiled already, I just hope he sticks around longer than Mocha...

I KNOW!!!! We go for walks and I'm trying not to vomit all over the sidewalk! Loathe these trees and the hospital is lines wif them We cannae wear perfume at work, but they can surround the hospital wif the foulest smelling trees in history!

Jack and the cast ran through the whole musical yesterday afternoon in front of the entire public school next door that came over for a field trip. A group of six year-olds were assembled in the front foyer and Jack walked by them in full costume and dramatic makeup. They fell utterly silent, staring like this:

He said to me afterwards, "PLEASE tell me that I don't look like this when you're seeing me up on stage, from the audience!!"

Well, Elsie would run, terrified, from a rampant chicken. Hank, however, wants to be everything's friend (squirrels, unapproachable neighboUrs, ALL cats, particulary our two whom he follows around the house, licking their heads).... . ..so, a chicken would be nothing but a potential playmate.

But as Patteigh has said, civckebs always look pissed off.. . .perhaps he'd hesitate.. .. . . ...

Well. . . ....I am still on a high. We went to the opening night of The Drowsy Chaperone at Jack's school, and it was incredible. I sound very like a biased mom, but everyone in the audience was truly blown away. I only wish Soooozle could have been there.... . ....

Jack was fantastic. He is in the chorus, so nothing up-front, but one of the vital support cast in the background who makes it all look and sound amazing. He plays the part, in this scene, of one of the cameramen who dances around, lifts up the leading lady, and generally keeps smiling', movin' his feet and singin'.. .. . ..
