Wow Emily--good for Sophie and her team! :D They stayed in there and kept plugging ;)

I'm jealous of your drug store. :P CVS does have incentives--each time I shop there I earn points or coupons <_< but nothing like your $100 shopping spree. What fun! :P Once in a while I get free "bucks"--maybe $2.50 to $5.00, but that's about it :(:D

OMG . . . I know!!! I love the points system. I usually buy my makeup at Shoppers with my $100 of free stuff. I think I had $200 free stuff one magic Saturday!

Ok--I really want one of these!!!!

I've been busy at Colin's place helping him go 100% gluten-free. We had a tag team going today -- grandpa calling drug companies to check the gluten status of his meds(he declared that he was in desperate need of a stiff drink half way through  ), me helping Colin go through his fridge/cupboards to clear out all the gluten, and my dad making copious lists of the new food and cookware he'll need. We made quite a bit of headway.

Ryan's family invited my my brother, dad, and grandpa to their Easter dinner -- isn't that sweet! So I will have all of my dearest loved ones together for Easter.

What a super family you have. They way you are all pitching in to help Colin--it just makes me smile :D How's he doing with all this--is he in good spirits I hope?

How nice for Ryan to invite you all over so everyone can be together for Easter! I'm sure everyone will have a wonderful time. For Thanksgiving, our son had us and his girlfriend's family all over to his house--it was great. :)

He's doing pretty well. As I'm sure we can all relate to, he's feeling a little grumpy after learning how much stuff gluten is really in. But he seems 100% committed to the diet and has told me a couple of times that he hopes this might be the answer to his depression. I'm hoping and praying with all my might that it is too! It really helps that he was already gluten-lite; we're just getting rid of the sneaky gluten now.

My dad's a little bummed about both of his kids having a disease that he might of genetically contributed to but he felt similarly after I was diagnosed and was able to get over that feeling so I think he'll move past that soon.

Walgreens - harrumph, pure evil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (although this time I got out for under $30 and most were necessities)

Just like my going to Wegmans and trying to not buy the entire store.....

Night Night Sillies I must retire early again....been plain exhausted all week.....plus I have this funny rash on my face which we believe I got somewhere in the hospital yesterday.....no glutening though, never one of my symptoms and I know I was not around bad stuff....but I was in a few labs yesterday so who knows what chemicals were in the air there....yuck

Morning, Amanda and Nikki!

'Tis the first day of spring. Not very spring-like, here....we have a LOT of snow to get rid of. But it is melting, and there are flood warnings being issued. If it's suddenly well above freezing for a few days, it could be a deluge (how many posts am I at, again?)

Nikki, has any of your....taff?...no, tatt!....moved as yet?

Hope your face is better today, Amanda. King Ptaum may have quietly decreed a new official occurrence for large flipovers: skin eruptions. Perhaps this is the explanation for your sudden rash. We must meet in council with His Highness and inquire. Dunno if he has carte blanche on such motions....did you just hit a big post number er sumfin'?:lol:

HAPPY MUD SEASON SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG. Ladeeeeeez.....can we talk about how evil your common, neighborhood pharmacy drug store is? Seems like a benign thing, right? but nooooooooo.........all sorts of new coloUrs, cosmetics, and smelly things lure the hapless female like moth to flame.

Oh Susie, Susie Susie- I feel your pain. We have both a 24 hour CVS and Walgreens in my town. That means when Bev gets insomnia, she buys $50 worth of shampoo, shower gel, glittery eyeshadows. Oh it HURTS! Luckily, lately, I have been sleeping through the night AND using the drive through to get my drugs.

My dad, however, forced me into a Sephora the other day because he is addicted to all those yummy Philosophy shower gels. Both father and daughter agree that the Pumpkin (seasonal) one is the best!

OMG--Target! They get you as you walk in the door with the mouthwatering popcorn smell

I am only allowed one trip a month per ME. Too dangerous!!!!!

He's doing pretty well. As I'm sure we can all relate to, he's feeling a little grumpy after learning how much stuff gluten is really in. I remember the grumy gluten days- it's even harder when you're a kid :( But soon he'll realize all the yummy stuff he can STILL have!

Maybe you could suggest that he be happy; at least he can be more convinced that he fathered both of you. (Maybe that only works in my or Emily's types of families.)

A great, close hockey game. The girls were thrown all over the place by those HEINOUS AMAZONS, and still ended up winning 3-1. They didn't back down. This is such a great thing for young teenaged girls to learn, to experience. Sophie stood her ground (or ice), came out and challenged, and wasn't annihilated!!

:D this is great news!!!!!!!!!!! GO SOPHIE!!!!!!!!

OMG - jealous of these points you Canucks get at yer drugstores!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alex - Patti is right - you have the BEST little family! This is very exciting for me to hear, about Colin.....I am pretty sure it is goign to change his brain and his life!!!!!!!!!!! :) I think your dad will recover soon from his feeling of genetic culpability......'tis not his fault!

OMG - this could well explain the monthly teenaged acne eruptions. I thought they might be menstrual-related - but no - 'tis clearly this thread!!!!!!!!!!!

um...........here's the latest on Amy Winehouse and we must all be thankful we don't have IMPETIGO:

(this photo is not that great but - we were watching TMZ the other night and Amy's face IS falling off in several sections - quite literally  )

Mygawd....Bev, is this truth, or somefin' ridiculously funny? You guys have drug drive-throughs?! Wow...."I'll have a double-double oxycontin, two Salbutrimol puffers and to drink....um....a medium banana-flavoUred amoxicillin, please".

My dad, however, forced me into a Sephora the other day because he is addicted to all those yummy Philosophy shower gels.

OMG again....somefin' else I've never heard of....Philosophy gels? Are they real, or simply a copy of the ultimate gel in the immense, real world beyond our consciousness?:rolleyes:

Maybe you could suggest that he be happy; at least he can be more convinced that he fathered both of you. (Maybe that only works in my or Emily's types of families.)

Yes, Alex, this really is such great news. You may very well see things turn around for Colin....we know that Susie can certainly attest to this--gluten can impair the brain in astonishing ways. SO great he's getting off it!! :)

OMG - this could well explain the monthly teenaged acne eruptions. I thought they might be menstrual-related - but no - 'tis clearly this thread!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, me too. Where is His Highness, anyways? He needs to answer to us...big flipovers causing skin eruptions, or not?:lol:

I listen to this radio station and they were talking about Amy Winehouse....and they said she looks like if you would touch her you might get "something" she looks like she will die anyday.....Yikes! Sad cause the girl is rather talented.

Yep the Hershey CVS has the drive thru---very nice, but tight space to manuver through....

Bubba walked into a doctor's office and the receptionist asked him what he had. Bubba said: 'Shingles.' So she wrote down his name, address, medical insurance number and told him to have a seat.

Fifteen minutes later a nurse's aide came out and asked Bub what he had.

Bubba said, 'Shingles.' So she wrote down his height, weight, a complete medical history and told Bubba to wait in the examining room.

A half hour later a nurse came in and asked Bubba what he had.

Bubba said, 'Shingles.' So the nurse gave Bubba a blood test, a blood pressure test, an electrocardiogram, and told Bubba to take off all his clothes and wait for the doctor.

An hour later the doctor came in and found Bubba sitting patiently in the nude and asked Bubba what he had. Bubba said, 'Shingles.' The doctor asked, 'Where?'

Bubba said, 'Outside on the truck. Where do you want me unload 'em??' :P

Yep, I consider myself very lucky! So much love and support :D. I'm excited to see how Colin's mood and energy changes after he's been totally gluten-free for awhile. I really hope that this is the final piece of the puzzle and that with the diet in addition to the meds and the psychotherapy he'll get back to being the good old happy Colin that I grew up with.

Kitty Will is BACK but he's somehow lighter?:lol:

I hope he is recuperating well from his operation. My parents had to give me a premature "birds and the bees" talk when 6 or 7 due to my incessant questions about why our puppy had to be "fixed" when he clearly wasn't broken.

Okay....just planning my Easter dinner. I'm thinking about a leg of lamb with roasted potatoes and yams....perhaps asparagus...

What's everbody else doing?

It can take longer than 6 months for antibodies to drop to the normal range,  My DGP IgA took a few years as I got stricter and stricter about being gluten free  But having symptoms again could also mean you’re getting some gluten in your diet.
    • TexasCeliacNewbie
Hi, I just had my 6 month check after being diagnosed Celiac 6 months ago.  All of my panel numbers were normal except: Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgA (It is 31 with high being over 30)  I have also been having symptoms again. Am I not actually being as careful as I think I am or does it take longer than 6 months for this particular test to come back down?  I can't get ahold of my doctor this week as she is out.     Thank you!
    • Scott Adams
That is very strange, because it looks to me like two very different test results, but for the same test! It's definitely time to contact your doctor for clarity on this.
    • Redanafs
Same day which is strange to me.
    • JForman
Scott, thank you SO MUCH for this!! She has been through so much in the last three years as we've tried to track down answers. This language will definitely help me help her to reframe.
