A "bucket list" is a list of things you want to do before you die (or kick the bucket), from a movie of this same name with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman.

Let's see if I can sound this out for you.......... Buuuuuuuuuuh-Kettttttttttttttttt

My sister brought dessert to dinner, and I must tell you, it was unbelievable, more so because of its simplicity. It's gluten AND sugar phree (which I need). She broke three eggs into her cuisinart, then dumped in three bricks of cream cheese and sprinkled in a bit of sweetener (Splenda, probably) amd orange rind. She smashed it up until it was well mixed, put it into a sprayed muffin tin (I think she said it made 18), topped it with sliced strawberries in juice, and threw it in the 350 F oven for 12 minutes. OMG.... .. ..amazing.

Not low-cal, fer sure. . . ...

She's put cocoa in the mix for chocolate ones, pumpkin or apple sauce for fruity ones. I'm thinkin' peanut butter cheesecake tarts would be DROOOOOOLY. . ..

Aren't these the national Thanksgiving dessert

Lisa, I asked about honey because I have a good bit of dessert-type stuff that I use only honey to sweeten, that you may enjoy, since you can't have sugar or fruit.

Ohhhhhhh.. . . . .me wisheth I could have honey. ........ . . . ..

I miss it so.

I've used it for insulin reactions, but it doesn't flow out quick and easily, like corn syrup does. Perhaps there would be more control, and it wouldn't do a number on me hair during those middle-of-the-night hypoglycemic episodes.. . . . gad. . . . ......

I was going to say something about this Bunnie, that maybe Lisa could tolerate honey over sugar and fruit, and if so there are so many baking with honey recipes.

Janet, I was going to ask about your Atonement review, or anyone that has read the book and seen the movie......I just dvr'd the movie but now after reading said review wonder if I should read the book first

Gawd--I love honey  I use it for coughs and could eat it by the spoon every day if I let myself. Just the most heavenly stuff.

So, I go to the grocery store this morning to pick up a few things. Get home, and discover that the deli items are nowhere to be found....I look in the car--again, go through all the bags--again. Nada.

I call the store to see if I might have left them at the checkout--they're not there but she says to come in and they'll replace them--that the person behind me probably got them by mistake.

This was my morning, then my parents called this afternoon and we chatted for almost 2 hours. My mom's cousin, who I love and just saw in April at my dad's party, was in a serious car accident on Monday with her 10 year old granddaughter in the car. They were airlifted from the scene to a medical center in Syracuse (the accident happened about 25 miles from town).

The granddaughter sustained a broken leg and bumps and bruises. My mom's cousin had broken ribs, collapsed lung, broken leg and cuts and bruises--she had surgery yesterday and will have to have physical therapy. They are lucky to be alive, but are both expected to make a full recovery.

The car that caused the accident fled the scene, after stopping briefly, according to witnesses.

I'm catching up--did some moderating earlier, but didn't take time to post.

Julie--I bought the cake mix I need to make your apple-spice upside down cake :D

Try maple syrup, the real stuff. FAR healthier for you than corn syrup.... Please try?

How come you can't have honey anymore?

Type one diabetic. Cannot have ANY of that stuff, unless I'm having an insulin reaction and need a sugar source very quickly. Corn syrup is unhealthy, but it is SO MUCH cheaper than maple syrup, and I'm only swilling it back once in a great while....usually I use glucose tablets.

Honest to gawd, I don't think I've had honey in thirty-five years. . . . ....!!!

...Vaguely remember having it on toast with peanut butter as a little kid . .. . .....YUMMMM..... :P:P

I really only care about the fruit.......hoping that with healing I can add it back. I'm too skeert to find an alternative to sugar. Afraid I will lose control and eat back the 25 pounds I've lost.

oh sillies...........had more to say.................back is - on the verge of being completely ruined.....

I KNOW I could not do all that!!!........can't even sit on a stool with no backrest........my chiropractor is my salvation! :P

Yes.........must escape.........we need a beach, hot tub, sun porch, not too cold, not too hot, no snow............what else?

Addition to escape list: one full-time massage therapist...........heck, might as well throw in a chef.........I hate to cook!

It's no biggie, really! I've lived without white sugar, honey and syrup for so long, it really is a way of life. :)

Sometimes, I must say, though, I almost welcome the shakiness, sweatiness and vertigo that starts up when my blood sugar is low - - I get to have some chocolate! :D

Hi and thank you very much for your detailed response! I am so glad that the protocol worked so well for you and helped you to get your health back on track. I've heard of it helping other people too. One question I have is how did you maintain your weight on this diet? I really rely on nuts and rice to keep me at a steady weight because I tend to lose weight quickly and am having a hard time envisioning how to make it work, especially when not being able to eat things like nuts and avocados. In case you have any input, woud be great to hear it! Friendly greetings.

I was not taking any medications previous to this. I was a healthy 49 yo with some mild stomach discomfort. I noticed the onset of tinnitus earlier this year and I had Covid at the end of June. My first ‘flare-up’ with these symptoms was in August and I was eating gluten like normal. I had another flare-up in September and then got an upper endo at the end of September that showed possible celiac. My blood test came a week later. While I didn’t stop eating gluten before I had the blood test, I had cut back on food and gluten both. I had a flare-up with this symptoms after one week of gluten free but wasn’t being crazy careful. Then I had another flare-up this week. I think it might have been caused by Trader Joe’s baked tofu which I didn’t realize had wheat. But I don’t know if these flare-ups are caused by gluten or if there’s something else going on. I am food journaling and tracking all symptoms. I have lost 7 pounds in the last 10 days.

Welcome to the forum, @Hmart! There are other medical conditions besides celiac disease that can cause villous atrophy as well as some medications and for some people, the dairy protein casein. So, your question is a valid one. Especially in view of the fact that your antibody testing was negative, though there are also some seronegative celiacs. So, do you get reactions every time you consume gluten? If you were to purposely consume a slice of bread would you be certain to develop the symptoms you describe?

I only went on the multi vitamin AFTER a couple of year of high dose, targeted supplementation resolved most of my deficiencies.  I was on quite a cocktail of vitamins that was changed every 6 months as my deficiencies resolved.  Those that were determined to be genetic are still addressed with specific doses of those vitamins, minerals and amino acids. I have an update on my husband and his A Fib.  He ended up in the hospital in August 2025 when his A Fib would not convert.  He took the maximum dose of Flecainide allowed within a 24 hour period.  It was a nightmare experience!  They took him into the ER immediately.  They put in a line, drew blood, did an EKG and chest Xray all within minutes.  Never saw another human for 6 hours.  Never got any results, but obviously we could see he was still in A fib by watching the monitor.  They have the family sign up for text alerts at the ER desk.  So glad I did.  That is the only way we found out that he was being admitted.  About an hour after that text someone came to take him to his room on an observation floor.  We were there two hours before we saw another human being and believe it or not that was by zoom on the TV in the room.  It was admissions wanting to know his vaccine status and confirming his insurance, which we provided at the ER desk.  They said someone would be in and finally a nurse arrived.  He was told a hospitalist was in charge of his case.  Finally the NP for the hospitalist showed up and my husband literally blew his stack.  He got so angry and yelled at this poor woman, but it was exactly what he needed to convert himself to sinus rhythm while she was there.  They got an EKG machine and confirmed it.  She told him that they wanted to keep him overnight and would do an echo in the morning and they were concerned about a wound on his leg and wanted to do a doppler to make sure he did not have a DVT.  He agreed.  The echo showed everything fine, just as it was at his annual check up in June and there was no DVT.  A cardiologist finally showed up to discharge him and after reviewing his history said the A Fib was due to the Amoxicillan prescribed for his leg wound.  It both triggers A Fib and prevents the Flecainide from working.  His conversion coincided with the last dose of antibiotic getting out of his system.  So, make sure your PCP understands what antibiotics you can or cannot take if susceptible to A Fib.  This cardiologist (not his regular) wanted him on Metoprolol 25 mg and Pradaxa.  My husband told him that his cardiologist axed the idea of a beta blocker because his heart rate is already low.  Sure enough, it dropped to 42 on the Metoprolol and my husband felt horrible.  The pradaxa gave him a full body rash!  He went back to his cardiologist for follow up and his BP was fine and heart rate in the mid 50's.  He also axed the Pradaxa since my husband has low platelets, bruises easily and gets bloody noses just from Fish Oil  He suggested he take Black Cumin Seed Oil for inflammation.  He discovered that by taking the Black Seed oil, he can eat carbs and not go into A Fib, since it does such a good job of reducing inflammation.   Oh and I forgot to say the hospital bill was over $26,000.  Houston Methodist!
