Wow, was Sanjaya scarey or what, lol. I couldn't even watch again...the hair and the song just didn't go together.

Overall I thought everyone was pretty good. I think I don't like Chris S's attitude (although it was a bit better last night).

Even Ryan questioned whether Melinda could still be surprised by the judge's good comments, lol. She's good though.

My favorites so far are Gina and Blake I think.

I understand Sanjaya had to come out of his shell to start getting people to remember his performances, let's face it he was too quiet and too boring....but I think he is going about it the wrong way. We should remember his singing not his scary hair. The boy needs to go home!

I liked Phil last night . I never would have thought it possible

Yes, I agree completely, lol.

:P ugh sanjiya where to start, he is awful! i am a huge no doubt/gwen stefanni fan and he butchered that song, he never should have made it to the top 12, but thats what happens when you give a 15 year old a cell phone and internet account! LOVE LaKisha, Melinda they are in a class of their own! thankfully their were no "but you look faboulous" comments from paula.

look foward to seeing whos going home tonight and gwen is performing so that should be good!

Gwen looked good last night, even John commented on how pretty she looked.

Well, Sanjaya is sticking around.

I was surprised he was not even in the bottom 3.

Last night was weird. I was actually surprised that Phil was in the bottom 3 after his performance Tuesday. I guess America really doesn't like him. I'm kind of glad to see Chris S. gone. He was one of my favorites in the beginning, but he's been getting on my nerves lately. Now... When will Sanjaya finally get booted?

Jo.R Contributor

Wow, I can't believe the kid is still there. I was a Chris S. fan, but he lost his edge, and got an attitude. I haven't been disappointed by anyone who went home, just surprised by who has stayed. I kinda feel bad for the kid. I read somewhere that he knows he should go home and how the adult America feels, and wishes he'd get voted off. I do give him credit for smiling through it all. He's not a seasoned performer, and only 17, and he is taking the criticism well. But he still needs to go.

I think Lakisha has an amazing voice, but she is so boring and picks the most boring songs, I end up flipping during her performance (and a few others). Did you know PBS has a good documenter on pearls :P

I liked Phil in the begining and then he started to bore me but the last two weeks he has been back on game and I too was surprised he was on bottom. The show is getting weird. I only 1/2 paid attention last night.

I only paid half attention to, i ws busy cleaning my boys room lol. I was happy to see chris go home, but i think sanjaya needed to be in the bottom 3, not phil passed on this weeks shows. I would have been happy if haley went home to, but they will keep her for little teen age boys have someone to vote for, or should i say any man lol.

OK, finally watched the shows...

:o Sanjaya's hair was something else! I was cracking up at Ryan coming out "Sanjaya'd"

I just simply cannot believe that he is still around. Maybe they need to change things up a bit next season and let the judges really "judge" and let America vote for the top 3 and winner or something.

I thought Jordin did a pretty good job on her song, even though her outfit was awful! Haley is just forgettable to me. I really think I am liking Blake better and better out of the guys. I also think that Gina is my favorite girl right now. I'm getting tired of Melinda and LaKisha.

I'm ok with Chris S. going home, although I wish it had been Phil or Haley instead. But, their time will come. Chris really butchered a great song!

It's Idol Night!!!!!

Guhlia Rising Star

Woo-Hoo!!!

Guhlia Rising Star

Oh my gosh, Melinda was AWESOME!!! I think that was probably my favorite performance of the whole season so far! Even better than some of Blake's!!! Gina was totally awesome too. I really wish Chris R. would go home. I think I'd almost rather sit through Sanjaya at this point. He just bores me to tears. Jordin was awesome too tonight.

I cannot get over Simon telling Haley he liked her legs!

I was expecting Sanjaya to have blue hair or something else strange this week but he looked normal.

Gina sang a good song and I liked Blake.

Melinda was good, I am getting annoyed by her act when someone compliments her.

Chris R is not one of my favorites, and at first I liked him but lately he is boring. I liked Jordin tonight too and she looked a lot better than last week.

I just wanted to say that I am Sundance's Aunt and he is doing great he just got back from Hollwood he is signing with Universal records so he will be having a celiac disease out soon . I gave him a party on saturday and about 200 hundred people was at my house it was wild we had a great time. He sign autographs for all the kids with his picture. A 13 year old came all the way from Tenn he gave her his favorite hat that he wears fishing and sign it and gave her a demo celiac disease and a big kiss I thought she was going to pass out it was neat to watch she was so thank full he even gave her his phone # I will let everyone know when his celiac disease comes out. I told him when It does I will give him another party.

lonewolf Collaborator

How fun to hear about Sundance! How exciting that he's signing a recording contract! And how funny that C D automatically turns to celiac disease. We all know what you mean. Thanks for the update.

Guhlia Rising Star

Oh my gosh, Betty, I soooooo would have come from PA to meet Sundance!!! He was one of my favorites on the show since the auditions! I'll be buying his c.d. as soon as it comes out! :)

votefortheworst.com is behind this one, and thanks to a mention on Howard Stern's radio show, they have a LOT more publicity this year than in the last couple of years. :\

I was a little bored last night again, when they do these kind of songs I find it hard to sit and watch. I enjoyed British Invasion and Pop Week. Hopefully next week will be a little more fun.

Well i missed the first few, i was at my kids soccer practice. But I did see from chris down while i was helping with homework. I did like jordin's, I so agree with what the judges were saying with haley, they know her body is what is getting her threw every week. I was also laughing at the comments about sanjaya, you can tell they have no idea why he stays so they figured to say he was awesome to hope they vote him out, it was nice tho that he looked normal for once. I missed melindas, but im glad i did, she just bugs me too much anymore. I think lakisha did a great job, and i think gina was awesome, it was nice to see that side of her, but i love her more when she the gina we all love.

I dont even want to say who i think will be gone, cause im learning the ones i want gone will never leave lol

I don't know, I thought Sanjaya looked a bit like Prince gone wrong.

I think I know why Simon said that to Haley, but it was still odd. I think he said that to say something nice because he didn't have anything else to say.

I also thought Melinda looked a little less surprised at the compliments...I hope that trend continues, lol.

Performance wise...I think I still liked Gina, but most of the others were good too.

Jo.R Contributor

I had a meeting last night and missed the show. Last year that would bug me, this year, I don't care. It had been too boring. I'm a little sorry I missed Blake and Gina.

I was listening to a radio show and they were talking about a poll People (I think that was the magazine) did. The readers voted and it predicted Blake the winner and Sanjaya second. I cannot stand the idea of Gina going before Sanjaya.

I have osteopenia and have cracked three vertebrae.  Niacin is connected to osteoporosis! Do talk to your nutritionist and doctor about supplementing with B vitamins.  Blood tests don't reveal the amount of vitamins stored inside cells.  The blood is a transportation system and can reflect vitamins absorbed from food eaten in the previous twenty-four to forty-eight hours.  Those "normal limits" are based on minimum amounts required to prevent disease, not levels for optimal health.   Keep us posted on your progress.   B Vitamins: Functions and Uses in Medicine https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9662251/ Association of dietary niacin intake with osteoporosis in the postmenopausal women in the US: NHANES 2007–2018 https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11835798/ Clinical trial: B vitamins improve health in patients with coeliac disease living on a gluten-free diet https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19154566/   Nutritional Imbalances in Adult Celiac Patients Following a Gluten-Free Diet https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8398893/ Nutritional Consequences of Celiac Disease and Gluten-Free Diet https://www.mdpi.com/2036-7422/15/4/61 Simplifying the B Complex: How Vitamins B6 and B9 Modulate One Carbon Metabolism in Cancer and Beyond https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9609401/

Thank you so much for the clarification! Yes to these questions: Have you consulted dietician?  Have you been checked for nutritional deficiencies?  Osteoporosis? Thyroid? Anemia?  Do you take any supplements, or vitamins? I’m within healthy range for nutritional tests, thyroid and am not anemic. I do have osteopenia. I don’t take any medications, and the dietician was actually a nutritionist (not sure if that is the same thing) recommended by my physician at the time to better understand gluten free eating.    I almost wish the gluten exposure had triggered something, so at least I’d know what’s going on. So confusing!    Many thanks!

@JudyLou,  I have dermatitis herpetiformis, too!  And...big drum roll... Niacin improves dermatitis herpetiformis!   Niacin is very important to skin health and intestinal health.   You're correct.  dermatitis herpetiformis usually occurs on extensor muscles, but dermatitis herpetiformis is also pressure sensitive, so blisters can form where clothing puts pressure on the skin. Elastic waist bands, bulky seams on clothing, watch bands, hats.  Rolled up sleeves or my purse hanging on my arm would make me break out on the insides of my elbows.  I have had a blister on my finger where my pen rested as I write.  Foods high in Iodine can cause an outbreak and exacerbate dermatitis herpetiformis. You've been on the gluten free diet for a long time.  Our gluten free diet can be low in vitamins and minerals, especially if processed gluten free foods are consumed.  Those aren't fortified with vitamins like gluten containing products are.  Have you consulted dietician?  Have you been checked for nutritional deficiencies?  Osteoporosis? Thyroid? Anemia?  Do you take any supplements, medicine, or vitamins? Niacin deficiency is connected to anemia.  Anemia can cause false negatives on tTg IgA tests.  A person can be on that borderline where symptoms wax and wane for years, surviving, but not thriving.  We have a higher metabolic need for more nutrients when we're sick or emotionally stressed which can deplete the small amount of vitamins we can store in our bodies and symptoms reappear.   Exposure to gluten (and casein in those sensitive to it) can cause an increased immune response and inflammation for months afterwards. The immune cells that make tTg IgA antibodies which are triggered today are going to live for about two years. During that time, inflammation is heightened.  Those immune cells only replicate when triggered.  If those immune cells don't get triggered again for about two years, they die without leaving any descendents programmed to trigger on gluten and casein.  The immune system forgets gluten and casein need to be attacked.  The Celiac genes turn off.  This is remission.    Some people in remission report being able to consume gluten again without consequence.   However, another triggering event can turn the Celiac genes on again.   Celiac genes are turned on by a triggering event (physical or emotional stress).  There's some evidence that thiamine insufficiency contributes to the turning on of autoimmune genes.  There is an increased biological need for thiamine when we are physically or emotionally stressed.  Thiamine cannot be stored for more than twenty-one days and may be depleted in as little as three during physical and emotional stresses. Mitochondria without sufficient thiamine become damaged and don't function properly.  This gets relayed to the genes and autoimmune disease genes turn on.  Thiamine and other B vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients are needed to replace the dysfunctional mitochondria and repair the damage to the body.   I recommend getting checked for vitamin and mineral deficiencies.  More than just Vitamin D and B12.  A gluten challenge would definitely be a stressor capable of precipitating further vitamin deficiencies and health consequences.   Best wishes!

And I agree with Wheatwacked. When a physician tells you that you can't have celiac disease because you're not losing weight, you can be certain that doctor is operating on a dated understanding of celiac disease. I assume you are in the UK by the way you spelled "coeliac". So, I'm not sure what your options are when it comes to healthcare, but I might suggest you look for another physician who is more up to date in this area and is willing to work with you to get an accurate diagnosis. If, in fact, you do not have celiac disease but you know that gluten causes you problems, you might have NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity). There is no test available yet for NCGS. Celiac must first be ruled out. Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder that damages the lining of the small bowel. NCGS we is not autoimmune and we know less about it's true nature. But we do know it is considerably more common than celiac disease.
