I am sorry for promoting my gluten free blog and asking folks to vote.

ummm, did I miss something? are you not allowed to do that on the board?

I don't see anything wrong with it. I went to your blog and I bookmarked it because the blog contains some good recipes. I think it's great that you are increasing celiac awareness. :)

1. Do not be abusive or otherwise out of line towards other board members. Show respect for each board member, no matter what you think of their views. This is not a place to quarrel.

2. Do not promote your own business, Web site or products--even if they offer free services. The proper place to post your Web site, business or other services is in your profile, not in your signature block or in posts.

3. Do not spam the boards (i.e., post the same thing in multiple topics or areas of the board to bring more attention to your post), or bump posts up to bring more attention to them (Wikipedia definition of "bumping": Someone wishing to keep a thread on this first page, or bring an old thread back to it will post a reply to it purely to do this).

4. No Trolling. Wikipedia definition of trolling: "In Internet terminology, a troll is often someone who comes into an established community such as an online discussion forum, and posts inflammatory, rude, repetitive or offensive messages designed intentionally to annoy or antagonize the existing members or disrupt the flow of discussion, including the personal attack of calling others trolls. Often, trolls assume multiple aliases, or sock puppets."

These are the board guidelines/rules and they can be found by visiting this link Open Original Shared Link or looking under Forum Guidelines/Rules at the top by Calendar.

Hope that helps to answer your question Tinkerbellswt.

ooopsss... Thanks Jessica.. its been so long since I have read them... I best check up on them again..

kbabe1968 Enthusiast

I should have read them again too. When I first signed up I had my blog in my signature (which I also have on other forums I am a member of). I was asked at that time to remove, and move to my profile which I did.

And this time, I hesitated to post the links. And I guess I shouldn't have even told anyone. I was really just trying to show that being gluten free is/can be more mainstream. I truthfully don't want to win for myself...I wanted to win for the attention it would give celiac disease and awareness.

I completely understand and support the rules of this forum and sorry that I inadvertently breeched that. I will NOT being doing it again as it will be a third violation and I will be asked to leave, which I certainly do not want to do.

Thanks.

Again , sorry.

Well I also voted for you and bookmarked your website! I knew your intention was to bring awareness to celiac and thought that was great.

Are you allowed to let us know if you do win?

best of luck :) hope you win!!!!

Wow.. I'm glad that you posted that link. I'm going to see if the other thread is still here so I can bookmark your blog. If it's deleted, I may be PMing you for the address.

kbabe1968 Enthusiast

No. It has been deleted. Rightly so, it was a violation of the rules (see posted above). Not intentional, of course. Scott does an amazing job of gather information, articles and links for this site for us with Celiac. It's the first place I found when I went gluten free and has been a GODSEND to me. I'd be sad without it. I know he is protecting us from those who would seek to do us harm.

Cheri A Contributor

Yes, I understand and agree that it's for the greater benefit of the community.

I went to your profile and saved your blog. I would like to know if you win or if your blog is ever up again. Please PM the info to me. ;) Thanks!

Any chance Scott could add a link to your blog (and the election) to Celiac.com? Seems to me you have quite a lot of info and wonderful recipes to offer!

Or would one of us be allowed to post it?

kbabe1968 Enthusiast

I imagine Scott would need some sort of compensation...I'm sure the advertisers we see around the site pay Scott to be able to be part of it. I just don't have the funds to pay for advertising.

I'm not sure how the rules apply if others were to post the link. I would imagine it would still be a violation...I don't know.

Ursa Major Collaborator

No, it would not be a violation for somebody else to post a link to your blog. What is not allowed is self-promotion. It doesn't matter if I agree or not, those are the rules we need to follow, as it's Scott's site and he has the right to enforce his rules.

I hope it's been noted that I totally agree with you. That is exactly why I posted an apology. Not just to everyone here, but also meant for Scott. This is an AWESOME site, forum, etc. LOTS of incredible information. I'd be totally lost without this site and the countless hours he puts in making it so.

Congrats! Can you share the recipe? We just picked up a bread maker from an estate sale and are experimenting.
