Annika's due 8/31 - I'm 36.5 weeks. Out of fairness I should probably add that I was very sick with Celiac when I had Tori and in no way had a normal pregnancy. I never went into labor at all and I was two weeks late with her.

Just went to the doctor... Everything looks good. I asked her approximately how big the baby is... Of course I'm not going to ruin all of that for you, but I'm glad to have an idea. She seemed fairly confident in her estimation. :)

You look so good for being so close to delivery.

You look so good for being so close to delivery.

You do indeed. :)

You don't look like you've 'dropped' yet (when you get that much needed gap at the top of your ribcage as baby's head moves down) so maybe my estimation date was a tad premature ;)

I remember i had an u/s with my first when i was in labor, and they told me oh dont worry the bb GIRL is only about 7 pounds, so i was like ok that isnt bad for an girl. Well when i delivered the bb about 12 hours later, i had 2 surprises, one was the bb was 8.6 pounds and the second one was the bb girl was a BOY lol.

So you are not even going to let us guess what the bb weighs now lol. You look really good for being 36 weeks pg. I could not be pg in auguast, going til july 17th was bad enough lol

You should've seen me last week! The belly was up into my throat! I am definitely quite a bit lower than I was a week ago. My doctor hasn't said anything though, so who knows...

Thanks guys! I feel like such a cow right now. I feel good though still, so I guess it's all good. This entire pregnancy has been SO much easier than the last one!!!

Paula, I really hope my doctor's estimate is right... :) And we had a 3d ultrasound so we're about as sure as you can get that this is a girl. :) She looks so much like Tori (my dd). :)

Oh i know yours is a girl, i was just rambling again lol. I can tell just by looking at your tummy that there is a cute little girl in there.

Remember my dr was getting ready to retire and old. The best dr in the world, just needed to retire and play more golf lmao.

Hmm since you have dropped i need to really think of my predictions now.

You werent already dialeted were you?

You mean now? Nope, I'm not dilated and my cervix is still long, no changes there as of last week. Though, I didn't get an exam this week since she dropped, so it's hard to say. I will have an exam next Tuesday. :)

VBAC

You're much braver than me. I didn't have in interest in trying for a VBAC. Course the hospital I had my second in wouldn't have been equipped had there been an emergency section.

Hi there, thought I hop over to visit. Still nothing here yet, either. I would LMBO, if we have 'em the same day... lol!

Guhlia Rising Star

Nothing here yet either, Stef... That would be funny if we had them the same day. Our due dates are really close, so I guess it's possible. Probably unlikely though... :)

I keep forgetting to tell you, the nursery picture looks so nice. That would be neat if you guys had babies on the same day.

It is possible, when i had my 6 yr old, i belonged to a mommy group and we all had diffferent due dates for our kids, My 6 yr old wasnt due til the end of auguast. Well three of us had our babies on the same day, july 17th, it was so funny. I had mine first cause he came in at 12:22 am then the 2 others were one in the afternoon and one in the morning. We call them the triplets.

That and my nutritionist also said that drinking cider is one of the worst drink choices for me, given that I have candida overgrowth.  She said the combination of the alcohol and sugar would be very likely to worsen my candida problem.  She suggested that if I drink, I go for clear vodka, either neat or with a splash of cranberry.   So in summary, I am giving ciders a rest.  Whether it's a gluten risk or sugars and yeast overgrowth, its just not worth it.

Thank you for the information ill will definitely bring it into practice .

While plain, pure tea leaves (black, green, or white) are naturally gluten-free, the issue often lies not with the tea itself but with other ingredients or processing. Many flavored teas use barley malt or other gluten-containing grains as a flavoring agent, which would be clearly listed on the ingredient label. Cross-contamination is another possibility, either in the facility where the tea is processed or, surprisingly, from the tea bag material itself—some tea bags are sealed with a wheat-based glue. Furthermore, it's important to consider that your reaction could be to other substances in tea, such as high levels of tannins, which can be hard on the stomach, or to natural histamines or other compounds that can cause a non-celiac immune response. The best way to investigate is to carefully read labels for hidden ingredients, try switching to a certified gluten-free tea brand that uses whole leaf or pyramid-style bags, and see if the reaction persists.

This is a challenging and confusing situation. The combination of a positive EMA—which is a highly specific marker rarely yielding false positives—alongside strongly elevated TTG on two separate occasions, years apart, is profoundly suggestive of celiac disease, even in the absence of biopsy damage. This pattern strongly aligns with what is known as "potential celiac disease," where the immune system is clearly activated, but intestinal damage has not yet become visible under the microscope. Your concern about the long-term risk of continued gluten consumption is valid, especially given your family's experience with the consequences of delayed diagnosis. Since your daughter is now at an age where her buy-in is essential for a gluten-free lifestyle, obtaining a definitive answer is crucial for her long-term adherence and health. Given that she is asymptomatic yet serologically positive, a third biopsy now, after a proper 12-week challenge, offers the best chance to capture any microscopic damage that may have developed, providing the concrete evidence needed to justify the dietary change. This isn't about wanting her to have celiac; it's about wanting to prevent the insidious damage that can occur while waiting for symptoms to appear, and ultimately giving her the unambiguous "why" she needs to accept and commit to the necessary treatment. This article might be helpful. It breaks down each type of test, and what a positive results means in terms of the probability that you might have celiac disease. One test that always needs to be done is the IgA Levels/Deficiency Test (often called "Total IGA") because some people are naturally IGA deficient, and if this is the case, then certain blood tests for celiac disease might be false-negative, and other types of tests need to be done to make an accurate diagnosis. The article includes the "Mayo Clinic Protocol," which is the best overall protocol for results to be ~98% accurate.

Welcome to the community! Generally, for a gluten challenge before celiac disease blood tests, Tylenol (acetaminophen) is considered safe and should not interfere with your antibody results. The medications you typically need to avoid are those like ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) or naproxen (Aleve) that can cause intestinal irritation, which could potentially complicate the interpretation of an endoscopy if you were to have one. However, it is absolutely crucial that you confirm this with either your gastroenterologist or your surgeon before your procedure. They know the specifics of your case and can give you the definitive green light, ensuring your surgery is comfortable and your celiac testing remains accurate. Best of luck with your surgery tomorrow
