Feeding The Candida

every morninig I wake up like i ate nothign the day before. And every day i eat like there is no tomorow

i trapped myself--i got into this fear that i concentrated myself to very limited food (again). i was so terrified of being glutened just once more (when all that i want is just one solid week off the stuff--getting the itches man) that i found safe foods and narrowed my diet to them. in order to flush the candida faster too, i took like 10 pills (pua d 'arco probiotics and such; a variety) with every meal damn near; 5 meals a day; all just seeping through and not really healing it seemed.

but with this food (chicken, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower..sometimes other vegetables trying to figure which ones i can handle) cuz sometimes i can't tell what bothers me, i determined to figure out everything that worked by adding here and there; in knowing i had safe foods to fall back on, some things that would supply energy for working and general everyday such and such. they had before...

until now where my stool is green and rotten gas comes out of me and i can't get away from it (follows me everywhere). sometimes the food gives me energy but it's like a different kind you know; like it is feeding the candida. i can feeeeel it now i remember this feling before..

i guess my questions are: do i ride it out and take smaller doses of probiotics? are they feeding the candida? do i switch them? i don't think i can eat chicken for a year now...i'm searching other meats (hamburger and steaks seemed tooooo seepy though; hesitant to try), should i cut out those same vegetables too? i got an ic problem and some just really pinch that bladder or wherever, so it seems...i tried this Tilapia last night, ever have that? felt like it smeared the candida everywhere. am i just healing, you know not feeding it; or you think that Tilapia is fungified??

Don't stop your candida treatments. And by all means don't stop the probiotics. Those are a godsend.

Hang in there scotty

The foods you are eating should not be feeding candida. What do you mean by the Tilapia smeared around the candida. The supplements you are taking are probably killing off the candida and you may be feeling crappy from the die off of the candida. You may want to take less supplements and work your way up. What reactions are you getting?

ok i ate the Tilapia with vegetables (can't remeber now; was doing good on my journal too) and it felt like it went right through; like my cheeks sucked in and my tongue got real thickly pasty, and my stomach was wiped clear, more hungry...on another note: i did work all day pretty good and came home and ate as much as i could cuz i was starving; but it all got me choked up you know, with what feels like candida encouraged everywhere in my body, like it fed it!! instead of me. and i swear to god my legs were starting to swell again. around the ankles.

you gotta understand i been eating the same thing for a few months now. i still want to eat chicken and these few vegetables: broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower. they don't make me think 'oh i am sick of them.' i'm just not sure i should. thats kind of what i'm wondering here. i got ideas for variety, and it's hard to think i won't trap myself again because i am so limited.

as far as the supplements go, i started those about 2 months in. i worked my way up to bottles in less than a week. i'm 6 months along and admittidely 1 month though; cuz i was eating gluten for 3 of those months and could not figure it out. so i am not counting them. last month here has only seen maybe two days of glutening. or reatcions to what i consider glutening. now it seems i should go back and try things i thought were getting me before when it was something else, things like meats and vegetables...

The candida diet is the worst cause you REALLY can't eat much. I know your frustrations. I have been battling systemic candida for as long as I have been battling the Celiac Disease.

Do you like Quinoa? Have you ever trid it?

I am thinking to keep you feeling more "full" and less like you are wasting away try to experiment making a quinoa salad? With lemon juice garlic and olive oil squeezed on top? My mom used to make wheat taboule (did I spell that right?;) it was a whole wheat salad and it was really good and I am thinking the Quinoa has a similar shape and texture. Let me see if I can't find a recipe for you scotty.

Kay I found one:)

If you don't like fish you can omit it!

About 1 cup red quinoa (cooked with 2 cups water)

1 big bunch of cilantro small but not fine

2 cucumbers seeded and chopped small

2 - 3 tomatoes seeded and chopped small

1 large hot banana pepper chopped very small (sweet would work as well)

1/2 - 1 onion chopped small (I used white b/c I had it on hand, but I think red would be nicer)

3 scallions (white and some green) slived very thin

1 fres garlic clove, pulverized

juice of 1 lime

juice of 1 - 2 lemons

drizzle of yummy olive oil

sea salt to taste

cayenne pepper to taste

2 cans wildcaught tuna (or salmon) drained and flaked.

Mix together the veggies, quinoa, and the lemon juice, lime juice, garlic, and olive oil. Let sit in fridge for a few hours, stirring on occassion. Then add salt, cayenne, and well drained, flaked tuna (or salmon).

will certainly give a try, omitting some things though like the tomatoes and banana peppers. not sure on the onions with my bladder problems either

be quite honest with you though i am kind of avoiding all carbs right now. until i get some more of a solid feeling--quinoa? it's real good; had it, but even one single chip gives me tremendous pressure, gas, a little leery yet of adding anything. i was considering starting with some fruit first when i finally begin to feel like adding something; i just can't get there!! so right now i'm only considering safe foods but i got to get a variety

oh and i think i added the most essential part to beatin this even though it is really irritating going to the bathroom every 1/2 hr --WATER and lots of it; it helps already even though mostly everything washes through, which is the celiac part of my problems; sometimes i get a full feeling for 20 minutes or so then just pee it out; but it is helping wash away that loose sunken cheeks feeling as i never thought it would, someitmes it makes it worse right after eating; feel rundown and all and have to give a few minutes to filter in; sometimes after i urinate i get such a starving sensation in my guts all moving through and i have to give a few minutes for it to settle even though i want to binge on some food!! which would only give me that slow sinking rundown feeling going right through. Lord, no more GLUTEN!!! please

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
