Going to Charleston and am looking for safe places to eat...not chains but some of the popular local restaurants. Any suggestions?

Will you have access to a car? I had the same question, googled, and found The Fat Hen: Open Original Shared Link It is not what you would call conveniently located, but the food was awesome. At Saturday brunch, gluten free offerings were pretty much limited to an omelet, so you might want to go some other time than that. Otherwise, very strongly recommended.

More centrally located is the Wreck of the Richard and Charlene: Open Original Shared Link but it's hard to find. Call for directions and write them down. Only open for supper.

Slightly North of Broad SNOB Open Original Shared Link Most awesome and wonderful gluten-free menu... Shrimp and grits, ahi tuna with amazing sauce. They rock. Please tell them that Sam, Maddie and Hil from Spartanburg SC sent you... May not remember us, but the more impact we make and mentions made the more they will help all of us! It is right on East Bay street, so fun!

Don't know if you've been and gone already, or (judging by your thread today) if you've given up on restaurants, but I found another one on this very site: Crave Kitchen in Mount Pleasant. I'll add a link momentarily.

Thiamine interacts with all the other B vitamins.  Thiamine and B 6 make a very important enzyme together. With more thiamine and other vitamins available from the supplements your body is absorbing the ones you need more of.  The body can control which vitamins to absorb or not.  You're absorbing more and it's being transported through the blood.   It's common to have both a Thiamine and a Pyridoxine deficiency.  Keep taking the B Complex. This is why it's best to stop taking supplements for six to eight weeks before testing vitamin levels.

Yes I took a supplement that had B6 in it, low dosage though. I've stopped taking that. B1 doesn't affect other B vitamin levels?

Have you tried lip balm made from tallow?  It's been used for thousands of years and works better than those with waxes. I prefer Vintage Traditions brand tallow balm products.

Are you taking a B 6 supplement or a supplement containing B 6 like a B Complex?  Do you have pins and needles in your toes?   Don't worry about the thiamine being high.  The blood is a transport system that carries thiamine to the cells so they can store it.  It's fine.

Quick question, had some blood tests done again and once again my zinc was too low but now ofcourse my B1 was too high and so was my B6. The doc said to  immediately  stop all supplements that contain B6. Can using thiamine raise the levels of B6 too?
