Baking Bread

I am getting ready to bake some bread in my new Zojirushi but have a question on flour.

My recipe calls for Brown Rice Flour and sorghum flour. If I order Domata flour, does that replace one or both of these flours?

Also, another recipe calls for White Rice Flour and Sweet Rice Flour. Does Domata flour replace these flours?

According to Domata Flour's website their All Purpose Flour contains...

Rice Flour, Corn Starch, Tapioca Dextrin (Flour), Xanthan Gum

So you shouldn't have to add extra Xanthan Gum to your recipe if you use only Domata Flour

Also you should not try to add another flour into your Domata mix without adding some Xanthan Gum to that added portion

You certainly could try to substitute Domata Flour for the other flours, but it is difficult to say what the end product will be...

I might be terrific!

But remember different recipes call for different flours for a reason...perhaps texture, taste, moisture etc...so your end product might not be as the author of the recipes intended. That is why I stock a multitude of flours AND a flour blend in my pantry..

If you are uncertain look for a bread recipe that calls for a gluten-free Flour Blend....There are many recipes out there that are made for bread makers that use flour blends...

But like I said in another post...we are like trailblazers in gluten-free Baking...we play around a bit with recipes, flour blends, mixtures of flours

until we get the final product that suits us...and if all else fails the flops make great bread crumbs!

So if my recipe calls for 1 1/2 cups of brown rice flour

1 cup of sorghum flour

2/3 cup cornstarch and

1 tablespoon of zanthan gum

then do I add all those cups up and use that much Domata Flour? Or can I only use Domata flour for specific bread maker recipes?

What I would do ...if you wanted to experiment and use only Domata Flour...is to Add up the cups like you said and use only Domata Flour but leave out the Xanthan Gum because Domata Flour Blend has Xanthan Gum added already...

But again I do not know how it will turn out because the recipe calls for other flours...

The only way to know is to try...and at the very least you will know how this flour blend works for you...

If it does not come out...try to look for a bread machine recipe that calls specifically for a flour blend...

Got it! I am not a cook but know this is something I have to do if I want bread. I guess I will have to be patient and just try different recipes. Thank you!

Like Julia Childs said..."Be Fearless...and...Never Apologize....Go for it! All you have to gain is better tasting bread!

And don't give up.... :P

The Lindt (Lindor) dairy-free oat milk truffles are definitely gluten-free, and (last time I checked) so are the white chocolate truffles and the mint chocolate truffles.

I've used magnesium taurinate and magnesium taurate vitamins.  Didn't notice much of a difference when I used them.

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.
