Kudos to this brewery for doing what makes sense - use barley to develop beer and simply take the gluten out. The best beer available to celiacs because it's real beer. The price is a bit outrageous but worth it.

But barley has gluten....

They remove the gluten to below 6 ppm.

Is it any good, Josh? Redbridge was not to my taste at all.

I wouldn't touch it. I would imagine the CC that gets us from shared lines measures out at that low of a level also. It's nice to know they at least tell you about the barley though.

I think it's great. It's too expensive but wonderful. Not as hoppy or heavy as Redbridge. It's real beer that's why it's great. It's similar to drinking a Bud Light. Again, I wish Bud and Corona would officially release their gluten numbers because I'm quite sure they'd be well under 20 ppm too.

Heh. We have a different idea of good beer! Glad you found something you like.

I think you saved me some money trying Estrella. I find Redbridge far too light with no real body and Budweiser is not to my taste for the same reason. About the lightest beer I used to drink was Samuel Smith Nut Brown Ale. I'm sure that's well above 20 ppm gluten. I need to track down that Green's gluten-free stout one of these days.

Have you tried New Grist or Bards if available? Still sweet but a fuller flavor.

I did not care for the New Grist beer. Found it too light, very insubstantial. The Redbridge is ok, but not a Nutbrown Ale, by any means! Actually, I find that I seem to be losing my taste for beer lately. Sigh. Probably a good thing, in the long run.

I would pay lots of money for a decent gluten-free stout!! I miss my Guinness...I've tried Green's beers, and for me they're waaaay too sweet. Beer isn't supposed to taste like candy...unless you're eating beer candy, I guess. Not my cup of tea. My fave gluten-free beer right now is St. Peter's Sorghum ale, really hoppy and light and not sweet. I"m with you, Skylark, I was a Sam Adams/Newcastle/Guinness/dunkelweiss drinker before the celiac diagnosis. I'm desperate enough that I may try to make my own gluten-free stout this fall!!

Me too. I was a guiness drinker before, or Tetleys, or Boddingtons.

If you havent tried Estrella Damm Daura.

I would suggest you try it.

It is not dark, but it is FLAVORFUL.

My favorites before Daura, were St Peters (not fizzy enough), and Greens Double (the dark one) (A little sweet, and strong for my taste)

My new favorite BY FAR is the DAURA.

Reminds me of..... Stella Artois, Tuborg, Carlsberg, to give yo an idea.

Try it you have nothing to lose.

Thanks for the tip on Daura.. I'm gonna try to find it.

My favorite gluten-free beers are:

1. St Peters - by far this is the best I've had - tastes like Sams to me I think.. but is 3 times as expensive as all the others

2. Bards - 2nd best - very good

3. Sprechers Shakparo - very similar to Bards. Sprechers also makes another one called Mbege but it's only avail a couple times per year so I haven't got to taste it yet

4. redbridge - is okay..

**I've also tried New Grist & all flavors of greens but I don't like those.

We'll if anyone thinks that you won't get sick on less than 6PPM gluten, then refer to my other post, I got sick on this beer, and I strongly urge anyone really gluten sensitive to avoid this beer Daura, it's from Spain I defy anyone to find any true labeling on this beer, and do you really trust a beer with no labeling!!!!!

What you have to lose is all the contents of your intestinal tract, be careful!!

DON'T DRINK IT.

I did, tonight, and was vomiting 30 minutes later with severe stomach pain (my usual first day reaction to being glutened; the week of muscle pain, migraines and neurological shakiness will start tomorrow). I was glutened by it.

I have trouble with nausea. It often starts when I’m anxious about something (home repairs, sick dog) but continues long after the home is repaired or the dog is healthy again. When it happens I eat less and lose weight.  My gastroenterologist suggested ginger or peppermint tea. I don’t know if that will work or not because I haven't had the problem since she suggested it.

Hello  I'm not sure what to think . Seems no matter what I do I get sick. I had some yogurt with only 2 grams of sugar and is labeled gluten free ...the strawberry version seemed to really set me off My jaw is burning as well as my stomach and my feet.  Horrible pain..plus acid reflux and nausea... sensitivity to touch pain. ..yikes !! I don't know if it's from the lactose in the yogurt or if I'm getting an ulcer  This condition can make you question yourself quite a bit.  Then if you are not sure the anxiety comes 😞 Does any of these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? The neuropathy is quite intense.  What do you eat or drink after this happens  Open to suggestions  Thank you

Of course my son is on a 100% gluten free diet.  I wish his symptoms were not debilitating as there are right now.  He cannot work, even when a miniscule of cross contamination occurs.  It's not just GI distress, but intense fatigue, brain fog, depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc.  It's literally neurological inflammation.  Not to be taken lightly here.  We have sought out many other possible ways to cope during this window of time (8 months!!!!)  without success.   AN-PEP does not help and seems like studies on this are not well researched.  So, we are trying this out because research shows some promising results.  And, all participants showed no cravings afterwards, no signs of addiction.  The patch is different than the oral route such as smoking, vaping, gum, pouch, etc.

Have you tried AN-PEP enzymes, for example, GlutenX (who is a sponsor here)? A lot of research has shown that it can break down small amounts of gluten in the stomach, before it reaches the intestines. It might be a better approach than risking nicotine addiction, and the questionable research around this. I also hope that he’s trying to be 100% Gluten-Free.

Hi all  I was diagnosed Coeliac a few years ago and follow a gluten free diet. The list of foods that I can eat without a problem grows shorter on a weekly basis. [I also have diabetes and asthma also].  BUT the reason I am posting this is because I seem to struggle with nausea quite a lot, which is really quite debilitating, and I was wondering if others suffer from nausea, even if following a gluten free diet.
